It states for perspective, Fortuna Exquisite with three hot foils on the back, took Expert Playing Cards about 2 years to make. This stuff is really challenging to do and when you're doing it on your own using various printers for each step (likely out of necessity), it takes quite a long time to get right.
I wonder, will Lotrek be open to employ a few people that can helped him out? OR he prefers to do everything SOLO for as long as he still standing?

PS: wow, this thread had reached up to 63 pages - what a record!

I'd be curious what he would employ others to do? He already hires people for various tasks such as making plates, gilding, printing, foiling, etc.
He doesn't directly do every single part of the process himself, but he is still highly involved in each step as far as I'm aware. The only people I can think of who directly handle(d) every single aspect of cardmaking from start to finish in the modern era are Karl Gerich and Elaine Lewis. Although I'm not sure if Elaine Lewis makes her own plates or not.

Here's an example of someone (not Lotrek) taking care of the cutting process for Royal Silk: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CurAVe9AIix/

I do believe she does her own plates - so does the mighty AI: “ Elaine Lewis, known for her playing cards, does indeed engrave her own printing plates. She uses traditional engraving techniques, creating detailed and intricate designs that are then used for printing. Her involvement in the process allows for a high degree of artistic control and contributes to the unique character of her playing cards.”

If you prompted the AI with "where did you source this particular information from?" would it tell you? Because various search engines are seeing a reduction in overall quality, and apparently even chatGPT is getting dumber in some ways.

I asked it and it was quite forthcoming - the results came from directly from its “knowledge of artists of that type”, otherwise known as “thin air”

The fancy parrot still sings better than I do, let him sing

Just like like AI make art, if it makes bad art I wont buy it. If it makes good art I'll consider it.

We certainly get a stream of crap quality human drawn stuff.

And considering I'm pretty sure that haven't taught AI to tastefully incorporate foiling into its generated playing cards that really narrows the # of AI decks Im going to buy.

When its used to generate assets as part of a human assembled large product like apparently was here, or in the Spirits deck I don't really have a problem with it.

It is true that asking chat for an answer is hit or miss - and yes, I am wondering why I still ask it things ;)

My son even hates me leaning on it for the quick reply art - but that I’m sticking with until the villagers arrive with pitchforks ;)

Anybody know the price point on the new white patrons? I assume it's a patrons only thing since his latest update is locked to patrons only.

Actually, he is only making 250 available right now out of the 325. Currently there are 126 remaining out of the 250. So, 201 out of the 325 are left. He did not state how/if/when the additional 75 will be available.

I'm not sure why he didn't give a heads up this time. I was still asleep when he removed the sale limits.

There were still 103 left when I woke up an hour and a half after the update but looks like those were all gone within the next hour.

Per Lotrek, there are a few more reserved. If any active Patrons missed out, I'd send him a message

No pics of the card faces is shown. I hope this isn't just a white tuck swap. I did not get extra decks.

If you have Redemption Series Vol. VI, then this would be the same deck except red ink on the backs versus black, and better foil registration.

Also the smooth foil finish as opposed to the air cushions stock on the Redemption deck right?

“slightly delayed” 😆 😆 😆
seems like im not the only one thats tired of slowtreks excuses
funny how white patron decks are sold back to the pumpers instead of gifted which slowtrek shouldve done in the first place
60€ x 360 decks roughly ~21,600€ on top of the monies pulled from jan-jun
so redemption v8 9 10 where r they peeps oh ya being sold in a fancy white tuck box now and classified as slightly perfect
cant even get a print run completed without issues on yr9

Separately, I asked Lotrek if he should wait to put out the white patrons decks until after fulfilling year one in order to not get any pushback or possibly use them as a Redemption deck. He said they were not subpar or flawed in any way once he had consolidated all the good cards. It's just that he didn't have enough of them in the end (only 325). We're already getting the Silk Rule deck as a gift aside from Redemptions.

Isn't he a seller? So his motivations may slightly differ from the average collector.

White Patrons in all likelihood?
