I said that I wouldn't post pics before you get the decks but since it will take a few more days until I actually send them, I thought you'd like to have a look because I made some changes. As I was waiting for the tuck case stock I decided to add some more foil! Below you see what I promised and what I'm eventually delivering.
You clearly should never trust my renderings.

I know I've had a bit to drink tonight, so I could have beer goggles on, but dem kings are shiny!

I can tell already this is going to be the best $135 I've spent in a long time. Echoing the above sentiment.

Wow! I fear another delay and you'll create your 2nd all foil deck. I can't wait and glad I bought "sight unseen". Another masterpiece from the master.

I would have liked to have been surprised. However, some of us may have had a heart attack for joy, so maybe it is better not to shock us too much.

You will be, don't worry. And for next year's mystery deck there will be no reveal at all. 8-)

For your own sake, please make sure the deck is printed and in your hands before selling.

Same. I really wish I had gotten in on the ground floor but sadly I was new and didn't know what Lotrek was capable of. Egg on my face.

To quote the beginning. It is up to you if you want to take the chance. What is interesting is that most of the orders were at the initial offering price.

I 2nd this for any creator. If it's not Kickstarter, I would like my decks in my hands a week or 2 after purchasing.

I don't normally care how long it takes a deck to arrive in my hands (within reason). But the main reason I made that statement is because I think Lotrek's optimism sometimes overshadows reality. And unfortunately for him, the reality is that almost if not every one of his decks have experienced some kind of delay. And in no way, shape, or form is that a knock on him because he always ends up delivering in the end. But it would be nice for once to be told when a deck is going to be delivered and it actually be delivered near that date. Another reason he should wait until the deck is printed is because his decks aren't your run-of-the-mill cards- he's pushing boundaries left and right. And when you do something out of the ordinary, unexpected snags are bound to happen. I've said this before in other threads but I think it would take a lot of stress off Lotrek if he did stuff without people knowing so that he doesn't feel pressured to meet any sort of deadline. I think a well rested Lotrek will design better decks and I'm sure we can all agree that that's a good thing! :D

Sorry but if i remember right, there are some decks that were sent 1-2 weeks (as mentioned) after sale started.

-Golden Oath
-Sanctus

This, to my mind, is the foremost reason to avoid getting the hype train rolling until you've got your total material inventory confirmed at the manufacturer's and a satisfactory prototype in hand. The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley, as the poem says. Suppliers run out of stock, supply chains hit snags, materials and printing processes interact in unforeseen ways. No sense in setting folks up for disappointment when your finished product is inevitably different from (even if not lesser than) exactly what you pictured and pitched.

That said, an extra week or two never bothered me. I barely remember what I have coming to me in the mail at any given time anyway.... :ugthink:

I agree with both of you. When the deck is completed and sent, how are we to know what went wrong or how something was supposed to be?

I'm not the type that "wants to join the creator during the deck creation process" though it's interesting to see how certain things are made time to time but at the end of the day, we just want decks delivered quickly at good to high quality.

Just got “THE” email. Sigh. [emoji20]

So there’s a misprint. Lotrek had to scrap the existing decks because he can’t print replacement cards because there’s no more card stock of the type he used. Selling misprint version for $50

When buying a Lotrek deck, always mentally prepare yourself to a possibilty that you are getting it several months later.

They are worth the wait.

I can only imagine the horrible realization as Lotrek first noticed the problem...

Ordered a misprint deck. Guess I'll start a new section for the collection and pair it with the Paul Carpenter "Deco" misprint deck I have...

Now that is an error I would not expect from Lotrek! I can't imagine the cost that is impacting him. Oh well. I guess I get to double down and get an error deck also.

Also, please notice that he has revealed what the final tuck case looks like, which is a "tad" better than what he showed us. Well, I do recall him saying they would be printed on goat skin...

So it turns out that some mistakes are ones that not only the artist would be able to spot :D

No, you definitely can't... :( [MURRAY] :( [MURRAY]

The weirdest thing is that NOBODY at ANY stage of production spotted it. Apparently we were all mesmerized by the gold. I was looking at the sheets all the time. I checked the proofs before I print. I never noticed...

With the latest email, it proves my point of having decks done before a preorder.

That new tuck though.

Good lord. Only 19 of the error decks are available now. If you want one, you better hurry!

Actually, now that I read the information better, it was only the 3 of hearts and the 8 of spades that were in error. I guess I could just cross them out and hand color the right pip and just use the deck.
