This one disappeared from the system restore, so I will post it again: (the one on the left has the holographic seal and is hand signed as well)

I hemmed and hawed over these for a while. Left them in my shopping cart and E sent me 2 reminders that the bundle was sitting there. The second reminder came with a %10 discount on my purchase so I finally bit the bullet. Really glad they are still doing regular USPS shipping to Canada.

Now it's going to be that much harder to have the money ready when the Grotesque comes due. I must be crazy.
funnily enough i did the same thing, left about 5 or 6 decks of cards in the basket, 2 emails later, saying i still had things in the basket, they offered me a 10% discount as well. How bizarre.

So it is a regular tactic they use - interesting. Well it worked on me since that was the push that made me complete my purchase. Did you complete yours?

I think they now may find many people leaving their items in the shopping cart hoping to be offered the %10 off.

Yeah, I got the same offer when I left some items in my cart for a few days. It's a common tactic used by other online shopping sites, too.

Yeah they do that all the time. Theory11 does it as well. In the long run a 10% discount is nothing compared to anything the buyer has in their cart.

i was interested to see if they did it, after your comment, so i left some items in the basket, i wanted the 5 mini's so i was intending to buy them, so yes i did complete the basket. Got 1 email saying i that i had left the basket with things in it, and the day after i got another email offering me the discount.

So definitely worth waiting to see if you get it after the 2nd email, normally takes 1 day or 2 days to come through.

I agree that it's not a lot, but it's 10% less than you would have paid.

Dazz - I did get rhu all for $20...

Yup. What I was trying to say is that it's mutually beneficial. Doesn't hurt them and it benefits us. Heck. I'll do that from now on. Put everything in the cart and wait a couple of days.

Lots of companies do it, but I try not to take advantage of such things more than once maybe twice. Kinda dishonest to purposefully do it every time you're buying something IMO.

Is there a limit as to how many times you can do this? I read that each code can be used only once for a particular account.

Got this one on eBay for $4.98

Okay, chalk this one up to "I buy anything Bicycle-branded".

The two brothers who are behind Brosmind are talented artists, but:
  • I am not a fan of this type of art, and
  • The courts sucketh mightily.

Nice decks Verloren. I think the Butterfly deck is one of the more understated decks out there. I really like the artwork.

As I told the artist here, the Butterfly deck's courts are my favorite out of the more than two hundred Bicycle decks I have.

Seriously, chach? Why not? If you don't take that 10%, somebody else will. There are so many websites that offer you 10% if you have something in your cart and try to leave the page any more than I do it out of habit. Why would you pay an extra 11% if you don't have to? (math is funny, $10 is 11% more than $9.)

I tried it again today just to see and it would not let me. I'm sure the system activates the code (on your account) when the email is sent out to you, and will only allow you to do it if it is emailed again.

Wanted to give one of my old hippie friends a deck for Christmas and the Butterfly was perfect!

IDK, just seems kinda dishonest to purposefully do it IMO. Kinda like deliberately cancelling a sirius/xm subscription every 6 months knowing that customer service is required to try and get you back by offering a huge discount off their regular subscription price for 6 months plus a month or two free. I always figured a good transaction leaves a smile on both parties' faces. Deliberately waiting for the seller to beg you to come back by offering 10% off is wiping away their smile IMO.

Anyways, back on subject. Today was a good day for the collection. Got two packages in, one from USPCC with a few of their new offerings and the other is a deck that I found while shopping for a new 3-day pack for the car. It's from Maxpedition which makes some high quality packs and tactical equipment. Cards are full plastic and smell like PVC piping :P . They're a fun deck that will be able to withstand all sorts of abuse and I must say I really like the whimsical courts. I will be keeping a deck in my new bag (which I ended up getting from London Bridge Trading instead of Maxpedition). If anyone's interested, cards can be bought for $3.99 here: http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/Tac ... 8p1860.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I spent thirty years as a computer programmer, so this deck really appeals to my Inner Geek:

(Okay, so it's not my photo, but I just wanted to call y'all's attention to it.

Here is where it can be ordered:

In what language(s) do you code?

Thanks, RSL, I'll have to pick up a code deck. I'm a programmer too. :)

Nice haul, Princess! Sadly, I don't have any of them (although I have several Star Wars decks, just not that one).

What sort of programming do you do?

That Star Wars deck came from ThinkGeek, by the way.

These days, I work mostly on UNIX systems and do web programming with Java Server Pages that integrates with Oracle databases. The domain is mostly cancer research and clinic trial systems.

Nobody asked, but...

Almost all of the programming I did for a living (1976-2008) was in various flavors of the RPG language (RPG II, RPG III, RPG/400, ILE RPG, RPG Free), for a wide variety of companies/industries.

In the 1980s I wrote a series of six DOS Shareware games in Turbo Pascal:
  • MLYAHT (MicroLink Yaht), the dice game Yahtzee
  • MLSHUT (MicroLink Shut the Box), the VERY old dice game
  • MLPUSH (MicroLink Push Your Luck), a dice game I invented
  • MLLOYD (MicroLink Loyd), the sliding tile "15" game
  • MLOTRA (MicroLink Otra), a "Simon"-like memory game
  • MLCRUX (MicroLink Crux), a puzzle-game
All of the web site work that I have done has been in straight HTML (witness my old playing card web site), but I plan on reviving/revamping it using php & MySQL.

Interesting BSG deck PT, with the translucent tuck. Any info on the deck? Custom?
