It's been a couple of weeks since Jackson began shipping his Independence Limited sets and I'm already counting 13 of the 1,000 total sets up on eBay for sale, with the cheapest one having a starting price of $150...about double the KS price, and several in the $250 to $300 range. No bids on any of them so far.

Has the shine worn off these after-market offerings? Is it possible that all of the serious deck collectors are in on the KS releases now, and the number of new collectors with deep pockets entering the "hobby" is very thin?

Yes, the market is saturated with decks and more and more are coming out. It's not that they can't afford them, most have so much invested in all these decks coming out on KS, CL, and Indiegogo(somewhat). Its hard for a true collector to choose and I think most really won't pay double or more for post campaign decks.

There's been a couple of auctions for the ltd edition sets that sold between 250 - 300. And while there will always be new people coming into the market, you have to ask yourself what really sets the independence decks apart to pay such prices? They're far from Jack$on's first offerings so they don't have that novelty going, and the American Revolution idea isn't all that universal of a theme so they don't really appeal to foreign collectors as much. So I'd say it's a collaboration of issues rather than just the main collectors are all on KS now.

I dunno, but after sitting on them for six months, I suddenly sold two of Jackson's "Baker Street LE" signed decks for $150 each in the past week. Nobody looked at them for 5 1/2 months, then I suddenly got three or four inquiries in about ten days, one sold for $149 (#0082) and another for $159 (#0076). I'm keeping #25 & #36. Wifey actually bought the other two, so I suppose I am doing quite well to have offed these. Both went to people in the middle east, oddly enough ("Global Seller Program" - shipped to Erlanger Airport). Odd... Paid for all of my Sherlock shtufft.

Snagged this from davegk "Just wanted to share with you folks the reverse (Dutch) auction that's happening right now on the Vanda website.

Basically, pricing starts at list price and drops every 10 minutes until the 100 decks available are sold out or pricing reaches $1, where it will remain until sold out.

More details here: http://vandacards.com/dutch-auction" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

Only auction still open ----------> http://vandacards.com/product/polaris-s ... t-auction/ It was at $17.90 with 100 left in stock

Wasn't really the right thread for it, as this is intend for people to be posting eBay auctions that are far too high.

I too got the email about this Dutch Auction of David's but decided to pass.

I wonder if Jackson knows that his signature is worth $45 each in the aftermarket.

Maybe I'm wrong and this is a fair price, but seems horribly overpriced for 60 year old mechanical equipment.

Complete Equipment Setup for Foil Imprinting the Backs of Custom Playing Cards, including Cellowrapper

Available for sale is a complete equipment setup for foil imprinting the backs of custom playing cards, including a hard to obtain custom cello wrapping (not the more common shrink wrap) machine that handles bridge and poker sizes, plus automatic custom foil stampers, brass wheels, etc. Also included are thousands of decks of cards in bulk with color backs, plastic two-piece single and double plastic boxes and cardboard single and double open window tuck boxes, etc.

Great price for everything but will entertain any partial offers.

The newest model of the cellowrap machine costs over 200,000 euros. This model is from the 1950's. Brass monogram wheels cost in the thousands of dollars to make, I have 8 for sale.

I think eBay has it coded in their software now to automatically insert the word Rare into any and all auction titles.

I submitted a question to seller asking what makes them different from the $10 ones on Ellusionist. No answer for some reason... ;)

If I can resell $10 decks for $550 I might have to go order some.
