I think I marginally prefer version 1 of As/AoS but eagerly await version 3
We're going to ink the ace now, so hopefully it will show itself better.

Hi everyone! The Ace of Spades is complete, but we're making a revision on all the previous court card to change a couple of colours. For the mean time, here's the Ace of Spades in its full glory.

Hi everyone,
I want to get your opinions regarding the Ace of Diamonds for the Tragoedia Macbethi Playing Cards. We have three versions that we want to show you, and we want to know from you which one looks the best out of the three.
Which one do you prefer: Version 1 (Left), Version 2, (Middle), and Version 3 (Right)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Including the poll that I conducted on r/playingcards on Reddit, we've gone for Version 1.

Great to hear you like them! The difficult part now is the tuck, that's gonna take some time.

Greeting guys!
Got a question for you guys. Do you know of any playing cards where the tuck box has a dark red, gold, black, and grey colour scheme? We're trying to figure what's the best approach for the colour of our tuck box, and we're struggling. A reference of an existing deck would be nice.

and also on their Heroic Tales - dark red, gold, navy blue (instead of black) and pale blue/almost grey and a smidge of white thrown in for good luck

Hmm... interesting. Heroic Tales is probably the closest in terms of implementation, if the tuck box is red and the red areas being black maybe.
Here's what we originally designed.
However, we're not happy with it. Proportion-wise, it's not working and we have soft lines instead of harsher lines. Any suggestions of improvements?

Kind of hard to really say with uncolored art, that could have been a very nice picture
But I certainly could go with tighter framing around the main character, also like one of the aces shown before the lack of pupils in the eye is disturbing.

Well, it does offer structure and warmth. A potentially stable home that is immune to wolves.

Getting me off track now Kev (I have already learnt that this is totally acceptable on UC). I was always amazed that the 3 Little Pigs Aces had the wolf huffin and puffin but the 3 pigs
all said "Please man, give me those
bricks to build a house with". What happened to the 'sticks' and 'straw'?

Yeah, wasn't happy with it either. We're re-doing the design, as we got a simpler solution that might work.
Late Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hello, everyone on United Cardist!
I'm making this post to wish everyone a late Christmas and a happy New Year as we're approaching nearly 2024. Reflecting on the last 12 months, I couldn't be happier for the support we got from everyone regarding our deck and all the trials and tribulations for which we've been getting feedback and recommendations.
I want to thank my illustrator for designing such fantastic artwork and my closest friend for helping with pivotal moments in pushing forward on this project. Without them, this project would have been cancelled when significant problems occurred a while ago.
I'm sending this message to everyone here out of nowhere because of what has happened to me recently. On the 19th of December, I went through an accident that (potentially) was life-changing for me, and it has made me look back at my life right now and appreciate everything that has happened to me, good and bad. Without knowing how it even happened, I suffered a fracture on the right side of my head with bleeding surrounding the brain, between the skull and the surface of the brain, and a seizure. I just dispatched from the hospital yesterday and stayed with close former foster-family relations for a day under observation, which initial look is okay for now.
The one thing I don't have memories of is how it happened. I was on my e-bike and was taking a road that I knew well enough and had a point in which it was pretty safe for cyclists with the one long bus lane you can ride on. The next thing I knew, I was on an ambulance stretcher and was taken to a major hospital nearby. From the loose memories I gathered a bit ago, I think the ambulance crew who was assigned to me said that a witness saw someone cross the road in front of me, and I swerved or braked around that person to avoid them and crashed on the ground, hitting my head.
Whatever it is, I'm having future me file a police report to get more answers on what happened that day. Luckily, that would close a section of my anxious brain about the accident and how to avoid it in the future. The more urgent thing I need to find out is how this brain injury is going to affect my final year of study moving forward. For those who don't know, I'm a university student in my last year of study. Having dyslexia is one thing, but now, having this presents unanswered questions regarding the short-term and long-term effects of this injury. Again, that's for me to deal with in the future. I need to sleep a lot and rest my brain.
Hopefully, everyone had a better Christmas than I did and, just for me, go to your close friends and family and hug them or tell them you love them.
Merry Christmas!

As Gandalf said Hana - hang in there. I spent over a decade working with people who had traumatic brain injuries and as you already know - rest and patience will see you return to your old self. The UC community will be backing you all the way.

Merry Christmas to you and yours (belatedly), and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's to great things coming for all of us in the new year.

Back to Work

Good day, everyone.
Now that the holidays have passed, we're back at work with the Tragoedia Macbethi Playing Cards. We're still working on the tuck box, as it's been challenging to get it to work correctly, which we already foreseen to be the case. Unfortunately, the illustrator we're working with doesn't have that much experience designing tuck boxes, especially regarding typography, layout and packaging design in general. Because of this, we started looking for someone more senior who has experience in doing packaging design or, even better, designed playing cards previously.
We're working with Ruddy Setiawan to design the tuck box. For those who don't know him, he designed the deck below:
We're delighted to have him as part of the team, and hopefully, his expertise will allow him to overcome some of the issues we had previously and provide us with an excellent tuck box. You can find his Behance page here:
https://www.behance.net/akarmati.
While at it, I also want to thank the illustrator who has done most of the work. His name is Alvian Imron; he has created some fantastic line art, and we couldn't be happier to have had him work on the deck since we had to restart from scratch. You can find his Behance page here:
https://www.behance.net/ilvstrasi.
Thanks again to both of these gentlemen for helping us with this deck!

The chainmail could use some light shading as well to match the rest of the art. Looks too flat in my opinion. I also wonder what it would look like if the elbows weren't cut off and continued from behind the columns to the other side.
