I have another blue Synthesis.
The Call of Cthulhu is the rare one, but not the ultra rare. I'm deciding on whether I should get the ultra rare one or not.
The Allures were received around 2-3 weeks ago. 3x White, 2x Gold, 2x Black.
Taken with my crappy phone camera again.

I got an ultra rare Call of Cthulhu from the Synthesis project today, however the tuck has 3 dents. The White rabbit and Red Synth deck that came with it were a bit bashed too, the packaging was poor in my opinion.

Oh, man, no fair!
I have more than 200 different Bikes, but I don't have any of those (except the Cthulhu)!!

It did seem like the playing card world did get a little light during the few weeks but the year isn't over, a lot of decks still to come. Also I've decided I'll purchase a black Royal Optik deck soon.

When I got my synthesis decks the other day all but two of them were dented ( out of 8)
I contacted Erik at Albino Dragon and he got back to me right away asking for pictures and saying that he would contact the shipping company and figure something out for me.
I sent him pictures the next day.
The day after that came the announcement that Shane had left the company and then all the information about what "really" happened.
Since then I haven't heard a thing from Erik and I have emailed him twice since.

I do like the band, but also didn't know that. Either way it's a pretty nice logo. Leave it to the graphic designer to enlighten us.

The Aces Over Kings were listed as a Marlboro promo, but I did wonder what somebody had to do to redeem them - so thanks for providing the answer, Charlie! Based on your comments, I think I will just keep them sealed as I bought them based on their ersatz Tally-Ho type tuckcase.
They discontinued the Miles program years ago, and I stopped redeeming stuff a few years before that (hard to redeem stuff when you aren't a smoker and run out of people to donate their empty packs

), but I'd guess it was probably in the 75-100 pack range to redeem for that set, probably late 90s as for when they were produced. I actually found my set a few weeks ago and took a look and noticed my decks have a gold stripe in the thingy you pull to open the decks.
Also, here's a pic of the top of the box (for those who might be interested), the Aces over Kings logo is branded on and I always liked the way it looked.
Well I guess I can throw a few pics of my more recent deck purchases on here too, this is just about everything I've added since July (not including doubles)

Got these in the mail just now!
They're absolutely incredible and to say the least, I'm beyond excited. The only bad part is, they'll stay sealed. Now to wait for my order of the 2nd printing.
Thanks, Paul! Great work!

The Deco's are beautiful!!
I've added some new decks to my collection over the last few weeks. I'll post pics of the decks tomorrow.
But, if you can't wait... I made a couple of new decks stitches.
Mostly sorted:
You can see a larger version here that you can zoom in on by clicking on the pic
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3816/1035 ... 410f_k.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And, you can see the original full size version here (and yes you can click to zoom on this one as well)
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3816/1035 ... 9ae3_o.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And for fun...
Completely Randomized:
You can see a larger version here that you can zoom in on by clicking on the pic

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3799/1035 ... e098_o.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What do you guys think??
And yes... I hang my head in shame for picking up more Merz decks (Bicycle Trace 8 deck set)

Nice stitches, CBJ!
(Was it you who I showed how I did my stitches a few months ago?)
If I counted right, these stitches have Fifteen Rows of 38 decks 15 x 38 = 570 decks: well done!
My
Bike Stitch was 30 decks per row, with a tad more than 7 rows, for a total of only 220 Bikes.
Yours has more than just Bikes, right (like the Ornate decks)?
Your sorting order looks to be very similar to mine - Great minds think alike!

Been at the 52+ Joker Convention in Vegas all week. Great people and Holy Crap incredible decks. Here is an early 1900s Congress deck printed by USPC I picked up while here. These cards feel 100 times better that todays USPC (Russel & Morgan) cards. Look at those borders!

That's great!
I haven't been to a 52+J convention since the one in 2000 (in New Haven, CT)! I had hoped to go this year, but travelling with my wheelchair is...problematic.
Did you meet Tom and Judy Dawson? Bob & Rhonda Hawes? Great folks!
I went to all of the 52+J conventions from about 1997-2000, and even got to speak at one of them, on "Using the Internet to Enhance Your Playing Card Collection" (or something like that) in 1998, in Kansas City. Very few of its members knew anything about the Web back then, and it was great to watch their reaction when I showed them things like eBay (which was still called "Auction Web" back then), "The Bob Lancaster Gallery of Unusual Playing Cards" (my own site about the hobby, now defunct), and the sites of several vendors of decks old and new (the Joops, the Getzes, and more).
The members were stunned that the Web could be used for their hobby! All that most of them knew about the web was what they saw on the News about it back then: That major companies like Ford, Pepsi and such had corporate web sites, and that some people used it to find porn. The fact that there might be information about Playing cards on the web hadn't even occurred to them!
I miss those people, and those conventions! I must have dropped a couple of hundred dollars at each convention, returning home with a suitcase full of old decks and reference books about the hobby.
Fun days!
I bet lots of them went out and bought computers after that presentation!

I only knew some Congress deck like Moon Fairy, Diana, Berenice, Good Night, Starlight, Moorish, Spinning Whell, At Sea, but never see that kind before.
Can you tell me what kind of Congress deck is that one?

I've bought about 40 different decks recently, from a wide variety of creators. One of my favorites out of all my recent purchases is the Fournier "America" deck. Each suit represents a different native American civilization. One joker shows north America, the other South America. The face cards and backs have a ton of highly reflective gold metallic ink, and each Ace is customized as well. Here are some sample cards (the top middle is the back design):
If you want a beautiful and colorful deck, you should definitely look into getting these. They come in a 2-deck set with identical faces but different color backs (the other back is purple and green). I found mine on ebay, about $21 for the set including shipping.

Nice find Sam.
A world traveling friend gave me the identical deck to the one you show here, but it came as just a single deck, with the English and Spanish booklets, in an oversize box. The box looks like a dbl deck box but has an inset to hold a single deck.
You definitely got yours for a good price considering how beautiful these cards are. I've seen a single deck listed on ebay for a $20 starting bid, without the box.
What is your second favourite out of those 40 decks?

Home Run Games had 2 KickStarter projects involving playing cards, and more with gaming cards, all with the 8-bit theme. You can buy their cards from this web site:
http://homerungames.com/Site/Store.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I pledged for the 2700 green and black cards knowing they were not USPCC made. Sticking to one card maker is so limiting for the collection (but perhaps easier on the wallet).

I'd say my 2nd favorite would be the Bicycle Oblivion decks. The 1st deck I ordered had a missing 8 of Hearts, but the creator was kind enough to send me a replacement deck. The designwork on the deck is beautiful.

Howdy Everybody,
Yesterday I got to go out The Hazzard Homecoming Texas style in Ennis. I got a change to hang out with my brother and meet most of the Cast of the show.

The Police Car has James Best, Rosco, on the top,Sonny Shroyer, Enos on the hood, & Rick Hurst, Cletus, on the trunk.
The General Lee has John Schneider, Bo, and Tom Wopat, Luke on the hood, Ben Jones, Cooter on the trunk, and Catherine Bach, Daisy on the back fender. I also Picker up a Cup from MickyD's from 1982, Two Decks of cards (only the box and back are custom Cartamundi produced) and the two stickers, now where to put them

I am very envious. Did you do any trades? Was there a mix of old and new decks for sale and trade, or was it mostly vintage/antique?
Some of the old cards really have wonderful slip, even without linen or dimpled surfaces. And the graphics look so good on a smoother surface too.
Is the Congress deck smooth? Did it have gilded edges?
Elegent back on that congress deck, and MagikFingerz especially would love those thin borders.

When I first started watching it would have truly had nothing to do with Daisy and All to do with the car chases and jumps, but I learned to appreciate all of the attributes of the show.

I guess we know the reasoning for your Dukeboy screenname! If your ever in the northern Indiana area you may like the Kruse Museum (
http://www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday ... evice=ipad" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). It's right off the highway on the way to Michigan. My family and I decided to check it out one time coming home from visiting my parents. They have one of the General Lees from the show and a good number old 80's television vehicles. They also have the Batmobile and Penguin's giant rubber Duck Boat from Tim Burton's Batmin Returns.
I also grew up watching the Dukes of Hazard. My brothers and I used to act like we were the Dukes while shooting our bow and arrows at bales of hay (we grew up in the country!).
Thanks, Randy

Thanks Randy, I will look in to it if I make it up your way. I grew up in rural Oklahoma, so bows and haystacks are very familiar to me.
