Hello all, I am new into card collecting and was interested in signing up as a gold member for Lotrek's patreon but came across a few posts on here mentioning that he is a bit behind on things and such. Is it recommended to sign up as a new member in January 2024 or should I hold off a bit until a later time? Thanks for your advice!
It wouldn't make sense to join as a Golden Patreon at this time because the cycle is from October - November of each year. What you could do, however, (if it's open) is join as a "patron" and have access to posts as well as Patreon exclusive drops. That will hold you over until there's open enrollment into all tiers, and you can decide from there. Just my two cents.
Don't let me stop you from signing up for Golden tier if you'd like to support Lotrek, though. You just won't get anything physical in return from doing so.

Understood, in that case I will look into becoming a regular patron for now until October comes around. Cant wait as these are some amazing looking cards. Thanks for reaching out!

It also depends on your stomach for delays. Us longer-tenured fans of Oath have developed a certain tolerance for missed deadlines and such, and if you aren't used to it, well you might regret signing up in the first place.
But yeah, the cards are the best out there imo.

I'm not a member, but I think the backlog will just pile up by later then.

They don't seem to be slow with other projects. Given Lotreks general track record of shipping stuff (outside of the Patreon decks) I think the delay is much more likely on him. This isn't by any means the first time there's been a month or so delay of him shipping stuff out that has already been printed. I'm not chuffed by it, I've got too many decks as it is, but it's probably him.

Well I'm in Europe. Sometimes stuff from Lotrek has come from Texas though. I guess they will, as always, eventually arrive.

Just chipping in here that there is late, very late & extremely late. Lotrek mostly belongs in the latter category.
As others have said, you're best waiting until October to sign up as this is the beginning of Lotrek's Patreon Year.
There is no doubt that Lotrek produces some of the best playing cards ever made.
I have supported Lotrek's work from (almost) the beginning of his playing cards days and have been a member of his Patreon since it began in 2020. - However, we are now 4 years in and still waiting for any Patreon decks to be fulfilled.
Communication can also be very slow and often we here nothing from him for months.
(Now I come to think of it, I'm not sure if I'm even aware of what the Yr3 & 4 Patreon decks are!)
Saying that, I have no doubt we will receive the decks eventually and they will be amazing, and as such I'm happy to continue supporting his Patreon work for the time being.
What you will find however is that Lotrek periodically releases other decks alongside those for his Patreon subscribers and these decks do tend to ship relatively quickly.
Hope that helps

for the amount of $$$ this creator has taken over the past 3yrs and still cannot print the decks that were so promised makes one to believe all the monies arent and havent been used to produced what was said
instead its decks of others that are printed off the backbone of supporters to be re-purchased by the gen public and his cult for more profit taking
I dont care what anyone says thats the truth and you know it
its clearly showing today with more “Redemption” volumes
cant even layout a yr 1 patreon deck ffs in 3yrs and you wonder why ppl arent understanding what they should /shouldnt be getting
lotrek is a joke and you heard it from me first
even though I was a member for those three yrs the lack of any communication makes me believe I wont receive my decks bc I stopped supporting. guess I can except this as a loss or a scam which one is it,?
not enough updates to even consider going back
more concerned about a codex ks
stay away is my advice polonium_210

He's on vacation in Venice. I am sure he will get back to fulfilling the decks soon /S
Only kidding, everyone deserves a vacation. Double Left isn't wrong but it's unfortunate about this massive fulfillment delay.

I hope, at a minimum, Years 1 & 2 go out before the Codec Kickstarter. If the Kickstarter were to launch before any Patreon fulfillment, I wonder if it would be negatively impacted. As much as I am interested in Codec, I would have SERIOUS reservations and I am still in the Patreon for now the 4th year (and yes, my patience is hitting its limits).
Given the delays with TotT and Patreon, the established developer fulfillment issues, and the soft card market I would think it could be difficult to have a successful campaign. You can't (shouldn't ?) leave your biggest supporters hanging and then ask for more support with yet another new project.

I actually meant to cancel this year, mostly because I'm scaling back but also because of the insane delays. I forgot so will keep it this year but have noted for myself to cancel come September.
Delays are one thing but I honestly have no idea what I'm supposed to receive any more and I'm frustrated by it. The lack of clarity and organisation doesn't inspire confidence in me. It really shouldn't have to be this hard to want to give someone money for their efforts.

Also you could get equaly beatiful cards without waiting for years for delivery and signup for Stockholm17's Patreon. Slots are open till the end of January.

Lel... shamless plug detected. It's true though. The only negative I can say about Stockholm 17's patreon is that Lorenzo posts so much that I won't read every update, haha.
If you like fully custom as in fully custom to the max with varying styles S17 is the way to go imho.

this is becoming extremely ridiculous considering all the money received in 3yrs
according to lotreks calendar; next trip is to france then ireland
we should see patreon decks by no later than november 2031 but there are brick boxes completed so theres that

I spent about 1000 eur on Lotrek's Patreon before cancelling that and I am afraid that I won't see any of my "rewards" ever again. Lack of communication is the worst thing there. Also, his constant "soon", "ready", "waiting for tuckboxes", "next monday" and stuff like that keeps people thinking that the time, when they will finally receive something, is near. But it is probably not. I knew what I was going into and I don't blame Lotrek for being Lotrek but my patience is limited and 1000 eur is exactly that limit

These just arrived today! At first glance, the blue pearlescent stock on the Sanctissimus tuck along with the foil overlay is incredibly gorgeous.

This tuck is gorgeous, for a Players’ edition.
The back design also cries out for foiling, so here’s hoping there will be a Collector’s edition

I’m not as negative on his patreon (or as long term invested)as some of these guys. Lotrek makes amazing decks. You basically do his patreon to get access when he finally releases something. Despite how some of these posts have made it sound. For most of those sales old patrons are able to get decks for free. But until at least October, you cannot be an “old patron” and would have to pay.
Hopefully my Sanctimmus is on the way.

I got a huge haul today. I will post some photos on Monday hopefully. First was my set of Sanctissimus decks (4 each for me). I also got some cool stuff from Native Tongue as well as a huge haul from Jocu. Some days it becomes quite overwhelming. Lots of great nuts in the middle of winter.
Holy Carp, I just opened the main version. I am not a huge fan of Lotrek's unfoiled decks, maybe because his foiled decks are so amazing. I am just blown away with these though. It is just amazing and wonderful. So very happy with these beauties.

Test print on the left. Final print on the right.
Text was added, as well as an increase in contrast around the border.
In addition, a double backer and ad card were added to the final print.
This tuck box is also one of my favorites of Lotrek's as of late. I'm a sucker for blue pearlescent stock and shiny things.
Happily awaiting hsbc's photos

Very beautiful. Are the courts unique to this deck or had been reused from another deck?
