Not sure if the thin stock is normal or not, but that wouldn't surprise me too much since the decks were probably given away as promotional items with a product purchase. Also, the Aces over Kings set was a Marlboro promo back when they had the Marlboro Miles on their packs. I have the same set except I actually sent in tons of miles for mine back in the day, lol. I've always liked that set, even though it's made in China and obviously not USPCC quality.
The Aces Over Kings were listed as a Marlboro promo, but I did wonder what somebody had to do to redeem them - so thanks for providing the answer, Charlie! Based on your comments, I think I will just keep them sealed as I bought them based on their ersatz Tally-Ho type tuckcase.

Thanks for the info, Randy! I'm a fan but that's new info to me. Makes sense for the band though. They always did like to appropriate 70's and 80's pop culture.

I assume that if the company who orders the deck doesn't specify, they get the cheapest (and therefore thin) stock. Not to say that "thin" is synonymous with "cheap", the V-Slims are some of the best handling decks of their era.
I will be getting some Virginia Slims in the mail in probably two weeks's time, so I'll try to compare these two decks when I have the time. I do think you're right about the company getting the cards printed on the cheapest stock. There's nothing custom about the Magna cards other than the backs... And even then, some of the backs have slight variations in colour tones!

I like the Aces over Kings too, anything that comes in a wooden box!

Thanks Jose! I think I remember reading that Jackson will be putting up some Fed 52s for sale on his website, so keep a look out for those, bro.

I was beginning to worry about us - nobody posted in this thread for almost a week!

Thanks Rob! Glad to have ended the drought.
