An "invisible deck" is a special deck of cards that allows one to preform this magic trick:

Pretty much all Invisible Decks use the same technique to achieve the given effect, but there is a "typical" method for determining where the card you are looking for is located, and then there are some decks that use variations (Magic Makers' Invisible deck leaps immediately to mind as using what they consider to be an easier system.) The CARC decks sue the "typical" method, and there are no instructions or other markings on the box to tell you what's inside, other than the fact that they have a seal on these boxes that they don't put on other Superior decks with the same style box.
This deck is for magic tricks that use the Invisible Deck principle; the deck is useless for cardistry and, really, silly to use for regular playing (although I suppose it could be done, it really would be silly.) So, the only reason to pick this deck up is if you are into magic or would like to perform this particular trick with Superiors instead of Bikes or other available decks.
Since the CARC decks don't come with instructions, if you want to know how to perform the trick, the usual magic outlets have various versions available (some with video demonstrations, others with written instructions.) The link posted above shows one kind of ID available from Penguin, but even Penguin alone has many, many other versions available.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/search.php?q=invisible+deck I would recommend, if you can find it, the out-of-print Jay Sankey DVD that gives a number of performance ideas for this trick. Cool stuff. The Magic Makers version (I don't see it listed at Penguin, but I know it's available through many other outlets) uses a different-from-typical method for memorizing how to find your card, but the DVD that comes with that deck also has some cool performance suggestions.
If you have no interest in learning the trick... this version of the Superior deck would have no point for you. The basic cards are already in your collection.

Expect a new deck in the Superior brand tomorrow evening - coming from the vicinity of Chicago. Can't say much more yet, but tomorrow evening I will (if someone at the 2016 52+Joker convention doesn't beat me to it).
As in the past couple of years, expect a club version with all the bells & whistles and a slightly less exorbitant version for general sale. Interestingly enough, it reminds me of an old Bicycle branded deck, but it'd quite special. Hmmm... Foiled backs, spot UV everywhere, etc
52+Joker Club version is in a truly unique old school telescoping two piece box, and serial number from 1 to 850.
Artist is Mark Stutzman who did most or all of the David Blaine decks recently, Whispering Imps, etc

I wish I could've made it this year. Tomorrow is going to be a great day there. I know of 2 of the decks to be released.

So the Phantom Edition is foiled (and is AWESOME) on the back of all the cards but is it just me or does it looks like it's embossed too? Similar to Impressions by MPC? Either that or really good contrasting or really good lighting/picture taking.

hard to tell from that picture, but it only seems foiled and not embossed. the phantom edition might be the the second skull themed deck after the calaveras which I would get.

Phantom edition is foiled with liberal use of spot UV coating on the cards which makes it appear embossed.
Since pictures are in the wild, I will go ahead and post those I have (mine are all the club version AKA "Phantom edition".

Sorry for the n00b questions but does the UV spotting create an embossed effect or does it just look like it does? Also, does it glow in the dark?

Spot UV varnish is much thicker than overprint varnish so it is a bit raised from the surface of the card. This, along with the shine of the varnish creates this embossed effect. But it doesn't glow in the dark.

I would imagine that it would increase the size of the tuck ever so slightly then?

Ever so slightly, but like adding higher relief to a coin, when you stack 54 of them, the distance increases enough to be significant.
No glow, as Lotrek noted. You're thinking about the old UV500 stock, not spot UV treatment.

Yeah, they really should not be there until tomorrow night when Bill has the Expert PCC party at the 52+Joker convention in Chicago.

Ahahahahaha.... Total misdirection! Bill did introduce this new Superior brand deck pair ("Skull & Bones Back decks") at 52+Joker convention, as did Randy, Paul and others, but Stutzman's deck is not that one. Right now all I have is a picture of the tuck which appears to be signed in foil? Pending another misdirect, this is the 2016 club deck.

When I checked out the link to the Phantom Edition on Thursday it appeared as though that these decks were going to sell for $24.95 at $5.00 off and I look today and they are going for $30 per deck.
Anyone know why?

Either way the price is misleading. Why even bother saying it's $5 off anyway?

"A brand new version of Skull & Bones unearthed by Jackson Robinson and printed to exacting standards by Expert Playing Card Co.! This edition has foil features on the back design and a truly stunning slipcase featuring foil and spot UV all designed by Jackson Robinson. Each deck is safely enclosed with an elaborate numbered seal made in silver foil and even embossed.
In addition to the wonderful slipcase the cards are new and very special. The center pendants are stamped in hot silver foil and the detail on the borders are done in Spot UV!! Lawrence Sullivan, our friend from Legends Playing Card Co, created and pioneered this amazing process and we have first used it in combination with hot foil. We can assure the purist that even with foil and spot uv the cards still handle perfectly.
Hurry on this one they are really a special deck."
I really like these

I would very much like to own two of these limited decks, but with a $25 shipping rate and the full value declared on customs form that would result in a huge value that I would have to pay in customs fees (around $20), thus bringing the price for two decks to around $105.
If anyone on this forum can manage to send 2 decks to Portugal at a lower shipping rate and wouldn't mind to hook me up for two decks, please PM me. Thank you very much.

I like Jackson's work but I've got enough skull backs. Think I'm going to pass on these.

But... but... shiny! The Phantom version has shinyyyyyy.
The only thing cooler than skulls is foil-stamped skulls. And if they are designed by Jackson Robinson (or Chris Ovdiyenko, or Dave Edgerly, or Steve Minty, or the Cellar Window team, or whoever did the Disparos deck for Ellusionist, or Natalia Silva), I'm allll in.
Huh. There's a lot of well-designed decks out there with skulls.
Anyway, yeah. I'm picking up a couple of each (the shiny and the regular.)
