Is it 18.85$ and will you get another bicycle 808 deck?
Also does the limit on the products get added on, recount, or doesn't change?
I haven't been a member for a year, yet - but my assumptions are that you likely don't get another deck, that's a "sign-on" bonus, sort of. My guess is that the limits don't change, since they are likely hard-coded into the web pages. The thing is you can buy 24 total lifetime if they actually enforce the rules, but I'm thinking that you can likely go purchase another 2 dozen the next week - I haven't tried. I'll go try to toss 19 Cigar or Espionage decks into my card and see if it lets me. I'm not a betting man, but I bet it doesn't keep track of it overall.

If that's the case, isn't creating a new account and buying another membership gives more advantages?

Glad you replied: I tried it, and it does remember that I already purchased 6 decks of "Espionage", so it won't let me order more than 18. You're right, just having another login would easily get around that, of course you'd be paying $18 per login per year, but I can see how that would easily be do-able since almost everything they sell can be resold for double (or more) on ebay.

I noticed today that the "Espionage" uncut was already sold out. It must be an addition of only 100 like they offered before, it went too fast! Curiously you can still buy all you want of the Cigar deck uncut (and deck itself). Amber Stag uncut has been sold out for a month or two, now - but the deck is still available.

So, has anybody gotten word if the Club 808 members are going to get a Play More Cards Ambassador Kit this year? I didn't sign up in time, last year, and I'd be bummed if something like that wasn't happening this year.

Marketing sent an email to those that "signed up" this year. The email included templates for invitations and other printed notices. THe email also hinted that this was all that I was getting. I responded to the email to elicit a personal response. Whomever replied to my email claimed that the Ambasador kits are still being put together. They simply wanted to get the invitations and other templates out quickly. We will see.

How does one "sign up"? I'm a paid member... but I joined sometime last year (albeit *after* February...).

After signing into the Club 808 section, go to the Articles tab. There will be a grid of thumbnails after that. Click on the picture that has a pair of decks sitting on a bar top or something with some people behind it. It's next to the dogs playing poker pic and when you mouse over it it'll come up with "Be a play more cards ambassador." or something like that. Follow the link and it'll have an article followed by a bit to fill out with your info. IDK whether or not it's too late to sign up however but I guess it can't hurt to try.

Once I requested to be an Ambasador, that choice is no longer available in the Articles section.
They don't like the idea of me requesting mutiple kits, I guess.
By the way, when you get the email with invitation templates, they give you a code key for 35% off one purchase at the Bicycle Store.

BTW - The 35% off has to be used when ordering over the phone.

Thanks for the info. I signed up last night; we'll see if and when I get a response. As jriffel noted, the sign-up article has now disappeared for me on the site. I'll let y'all know if I get an e-mail from them.

Got the UPS delivery notice yesterday that I'd be expecting something from USPCC today, figured it was the Play More Cards package. Looking forward to it.

I got mine today. Much like Ben Taylor's, but mine had a couple boxes of Bicycle Dice included. Now I'm all set.

I don't see it available. Did you get an email from Bicycle regarding Play More Cards Day that included the link to the PDF with all the templates one can print out?

Also I don't think it was an automatic, you're a club 808 member you're going to get this PMCD pack. I believe you had to sign up to be an "Ambassador" as they called it, and offer to put on an event in your area for them to send you the kit.

Yep I remember reading back and seeing it around the same time last year, but that link /URL has disappeared.

Invite only? By who, what are qualification, cost, etc??? Not sure about this turn of events, especially if that group has potential to snap up multiple copies of exclusive decks so others can't even get a shot.

Anybody remember that episode from Fraser where they jumped through hoops to get invited to an exclusive spa only to find once they were in that there were other ultra exclusive levels not offered to them? This reminds me of that. Human nature: to want what we're told we can't have. "Oh, please, please let me part of the in crowd. I swear I'm good enough to hang with the cool kids". Gawd, I hate hype.

Great episode.
