Could I ask you why you choose USPCC "so difficult" printer this time ?

EPCC doesn't fit yours criterias for this project ?

Marketing reason ? (Bicycle ???)

The only reason I wanted to go with USPCC is that I wanted one bicycle branded deck in "the catalog" ahah
I know that the registration is not good as EPCC, but no17 has got a lot of white margins and no straight lines in the faces ;)

True. Time to get some early buzz going with the Crown edition (formerly known as Gran Riserva) decks!

So glad the 2nd deck is so close to unlocking this soon! So BOTH will be embossed? Awesome. I thought it was just the Bike deck. Very, very nice!

I just also wanted to add that this is the best part of the Kickstarter page:

I don't have a problem with it myself. One occasion I didn't pledge because the listed conversion on the campaign was dramatically off. That's the only occasion I can think of and it was a board game that looked interesting. The most important thing is the deck design, not what the monetary unit the funds get transferred into. It's all for spending haha.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.
We can still be friends.
I actually like playing cards.

It's a shame it took this long to reach this stretch goal. We 'mericans can't understand how to pledge if it's a non USD campaign. That's probably part of it and then the 3 major campaigns that just recently ended put a sting on a lot of backers bank accounts. The way it's looking, it'll be lucky to hit the 50k stretch goal.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

Well, that and the foreign transaction fee some credit cards charge which even if only 2-3% can be confusing and intimidating. Doesn't this also mean that US backers run the risk of exchange rate change between when pledged and when it ends? We pledged in non USD so if the exchange rate changes the actual amount in project currency won't change, but the USD that we end up being charged can vary either way. Right?

In all honesty, I rarely get more than a handful of decks in a series. Rarely have I ordered more than 6 of a deck, and that's usually when there's two colour choices so I get one to play with and a pair for the collection.

This one though, I'm already contemplating a split brick to go with my prototype, uncuts and most likely the Gran Riserva equivalent. It's just too damn good, with each project Lorenzo's work just gets better and better.

It possibly could. You can always use http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I use that and its usually pretty reliable.

Yep. If Sweden suddenly invents cold fusion in the next two weeks or so causing the Kroner to soar then a lot of backers might not be very happy chappys.

About the currency I am monitoring every day

it fluctuates between 8.3 and 8.5 crowns for one dollar, on my campaign it is the average: 8.4 crowns for one dollar.
By the way, the credit cards fees are paid by me... 3% plus 3crowns on each pledge.
Or do you have even more?

cheers

In September I got charged $1.96 for $72.85 converted to $80CAD using my AMEX card to get Mana cards.
You are paying for the payment processing but we will get charged for currency conversion.
In general, if there is an option to pay using a bank account (ACH) the bank normally won't charge a conversion fee.

That doesn't seem to be the case for me. If I remember right, I'm charged exactly what I expect to be charged which means no conversions costs.

I believe that each person has is a specific case, it depends by the agreement/contract with his/her own bank +credit card company.
I do not get charged for currency conversion when I buy in foreign currency of any kind.

That's exactly what I see. My bank charges a "foreign transaction fee" which is a percent of the amount and not on most credit cards, but some do charge a fee. It depends on what the user agreement says. Lately I have seen some credit cards advertise that they don't charge a fee for foreign purchases.

TANSTAAFL

Since most of the transactions will post on the same day, and we should have some overlap of pledges, let's start a new thread to compare what folks actually end-up paying.

I'm betting that the banks that do not charge an explicit conversion fee will make it up by using a less favorable exchange rate.

Better yet, let's compare what folks actually paid for the Mana Playing Cards : Sybil Signature Series.
There were 98 pledges at $80 CAD. What did folks in the USA actually end-up paying?

For me it was:

$72.85
+1.96
---------
$74.81 USD.

Awesome. I love the idea of a mini deck. I really hope Lorenzo won't le the crybabies that can't pledge 6 decks, or whatever he decides to make the stipulation, ruin this idea. They did it to Jackson. Hopefully these people will leave their jealousy in check this time.

Hello guys,
since we have 17 days to go, I unveiled the No.17 Mini
As I did for Heretic and Requiem, these are not add-on, they are gifts for the pledge level: a way to say thank you for being committed to this project.

This is for the backers with 6 or more decks.

aah no prob, I stick to my plan :) as I did for Heretic and Requiem. This is my campaign and I run it as I want.
