Managed to snag the M1 complete mana box set!

Yeah, I tried for the tri pack thingie again like the first time, but at 30 seconds after noon they were all gone. Settling for the unlimited I guess. It's like being at a live auction where you know you are going to be outbid no matter what. I knew having the best internet connection was important for stock trading, but playing cards??? jeez!!

I wouldn't say it's not fair, I couldn't without evidence of foul play. But it's damn frustrating!

Unfair or fair, doesn't matter, I won't be spending any more time trying for any more new pledge tiers for this KS campaign. The way the buzz is whipped up for this is way too social media viral like frenzy to me - no thanks.

I agree they went suspiciously fast, but that last statement I can't really see any logic to. Let me just ask: Why? Why "should" there be more supply? We're collectors, we collect things that are collectibles which most of the time means limited and in high demand. People were understandably upset when Jody decided to print 500 more decks of his LE decks (which was done due to poor planning, but I won't go into that discussion now), and you're saying you'll be upset if Eric WON'T make more available?

For those who missed out, there is another window opening up next Sunday for another opportunity for the Reserve decks. And depending on how many Reserve decks Erik wants to keep for his own private reserve, there may be sufficient numbers for possibly one more window after August 17. Plus, towards the end of the campaign, there will be some people who drop their pledges, so more Reserve decks may be available then as well.

I get that the competition for getting these Reserve decks is pretty insane, but that's the nature of a limited deck. But there are enough Lividia decks for all who want some. Now that Erik upgraded the standard, unlimited deck so instead of that awful EPCC side tuck, the Lividia deck will also have the premium tuck with the cigarette box top opening and foiling as well. That is a phenomenal bonus and this upgrades his Lividia deck to something almost as nice as his limited Reserves.

Don't agree with that Jeri. Erik didn't set out to do 3 unlimited decks but only 1 with 2 limited ones. I feel bad that you could not get them for hours at kickoff and just now, but that's the nature of a limited deck.

Yeah, what's the point? If we have very little or no chance of actually scoring the decks at a lower price then there is little or no incentive to actually try. It would be a waste of my time to bother trying at this point, i'll just stick with what I have, even if it costs a few bucks more.

The point is that you still have a few opportunities left to score some limited Reserve decks. A small chance is still better than no chance, and your motivation to keep trying is up to you. If you don't think its worth the effort and aggravation, then just let it go. To keep talking about supply and demand for a limited deck doesn't make sense.

The concept of supply and demand says nothing about what the ratio between them "should" be. Supply and demand has to do with market prices; a commodity will have a low price if the supply is high and demand is low, and high price if the supply is low and demand is high (like sold-out LE decks on ebay).

The limit is set (as with any other limited collectible) and I think we're lucky to have more than one opportunity to get them. Had he just released all of them at once there'd also (inevitably) be people who missed out, and those would also (like you) be aggrevated.

PS. Of course, it's entirely possible that such a batched release might just artificially increase the demand for these, but I don't have enough knowledge in economics/marketing/psychology to even begin to speculate on that.

I'll be around at that time. I'll start my stopwatch at noon - let's see how long it takes to get rid of 240 unlimited decks just for a chance at one of twenty golden tickets.

Good thing they are not milking this like a cash cow 'cause the creators names contain no "S"es, though some might think of the LEs of this deck as $ybil.

As a deck artist/designer/creator I'm paying close attention to this campaign as a model of how to run 'em in the future - especially since the only complaints are "LE decks are going too fast" and not "the prices are too high for LE decks".

One minute we're bashing overpriced limited, the next we're drooling over them. Another minute we're not supporting decks coz they endorse smoking, the next we're buying Pressers despite them endorsing alcohol.

Double/triple/quadruple standards, amirite?

I still don't see the logic behind "it's ok he has a $20 limited because he is also offering an unlimited version". The way things look, people could care less for the Sybil.

And that latest tier is just offensive. "Buy a brick of Sybil for one reserve". Sounds exactly like the kind of practice we moan about from the big guys like Ellusionist and Theory11, yet there we'll be...at each other's throats for a chance at a deck.

Very well put. Eoghann. The one thing on this deck though is that the LE price point seems to be more acceptable. Around ~$18 USD shipped.

But man, the way he's using the LEs to push out stock of the unlimited is pretty masterful. Completely taking advantage of the collector mentality "Have to get the LE!" to sell gobs of the unlimited. And then taking the exact same cards, adding a different seal and calling them "Signature." If another designer/creator did that, they would be hung up by the heels.

But the cards are really pretty! And I will probably be trying for the signatures also, so, oh well.

E, CARC, etc. do this stuff all the time (buy a brick, get a LE deck). It doesn't make it right but at least there's a precedent. In fact, E has done exactly what Erik did- sell the LEs until they "run out" then use them as add-ons. The only difference is he's doing it over a short period of time. And another difference is these decks are the tits- BLINGED OUT and beautiful. The price is still high but at least there's no cut corners.

I also think there's a lure for collectors to complete the series.
