Jackson, I appreciate that you are trying to do the right thing, but a little forward communication would have gone a long way. I asked for additional information before the project closed. To say that we are just supposed to have blind trust... well I'm sorry but that's just not fair. As you know I have backed you for a rather large sum of money, over $1000 if I include direct purchases from your web site as well as various projects.
I did contact you privately about the refund because of the fact that I was on holiday with poor Internet during the refund period and didn't even see it until after the period was over. You kindly allowed me to get a refund (although I haven't gotten it yet) for my v.1 decks and so I was hoping to get the "right" decks from the v.2 campaign but didn't see anything except "trust me". Well I trusted you in that I paid for v.2 decks but without Int shipping, hoping that you'd be able to add them to my Independence deck shipment. Instead it looks like now I will have to give you additional money for international shipping AND I won't get the bonus since I asked for a refund on v.1.
Sorry, but I am quite disappointed.

I understand your veiw but I stand by the belief that I not only did what was right (gave you a full refund) and went above and beyond for those that backed the second project by giving them a complimentary deck.
As for the forward communication about the "free" deck. I felt announcing the fact that I was giving away a free deck would have "slightly" skewed my backer count, so much so that every cat and dog on this forum would have come out of the woodwork to hop on the free deck band wagon.
If you still fill that I have not offered the best possible solution for the situation I will gladly refund your entire Sherlock Pledge for both projects.
I'm sorry that you are disappointed, but I am in no way disappointed in the manner in which I handled this problem.

Well - i respect your way of handling this Jackson.
I didn´t backed the V2 Kickstarter Project since i thought we could add them in the Independence Backerkit (to save on int. shipping).
Reading now about the "free deck" is a nice touch but i can live without that one
I´m just in need of the V2 for a complete set

Is there a big issue of adding on the decks to the independence package? Yes theres bound to be some logistical issue, but nothing that cant be sorted out. And wasnt that the original plan since the production dates coincide?

Combining the V2 Decks with the Independence rewards just didn't seem to make sense for multiple reasons. Logistically I will have the V2 Moriarty deck long before I get the Independence decks. The V2 Moriarty decks are already being printed and the Independence deck wont be available for some time.
It is also a nightmare to coordinate hundreds of refunds and individual paypal "deals" for people wanting refunds for shipping or wanting to pay me directly for shipping. I've tried this once and it only leads to mountains of errors because things are put into some sort of system like Kickstarter / Backerkit ect.
Giving the free deck was the simplest way I could in sense "refund" the $8 dollars of shipping people would have to pay twice rather than creating a admin nightmare as up to 35% - 40% of all my backers are international.

Combining the V2 Moriarty Decks with Independence orders is still an option depending on when both decks arrive. But it will not change the "free" Special edition deck for international backers. It's just way to early to make a firm decision either way on the date of shipping.

The BackerKit invites are being sent out for the Moriarty V2 reprint Kickstarter.
All repeat backers (of the first Sherlock KS project and the V2), both domestic and international, will have the option to add-on a Moriarty V1 deck. To compensate for shipping for all repeat international backers, you've all been given an 8$ credit that's the price of the V1 available on BackerKit. At the moment there's only a limit of 1 V1 per a backer, but that may change later on.

Just received my survey.
I wanted to clear something up in my head. Is every international backer getting a free deck?
Also for some reason I've pledged $50 for 3 decks inc int shipping. It only comes to $42 so I have $8 credit. Will this amount be credited back to me? I'm not too sure how this all works and I'm not sure why I pledged the wrong amount for the decks I wanted.
If anyone can clear this up for me id be very grateful.
Many thanks

The $8 Credit is equal to the price of the Int shipping that you were changed twice, it is also equal to the price of the V1 Special edition. You have to add the V1 Special Edition on using the $8 Credit, if you want it.

@wilko, I believe jackson added on an $8 credit for international backers, so that would make the free deck to be added-on in backerkit. The $8 if not used wont be credited into your account, it just becomes unused pledge money that goes to the creator.

@ wilko
That's a mistake on our part. The 8$ is meant only for repeat backers of both Sherlock project. It's fixed now. Sorry about the confusion.
As for the 8$ credit, for those International repeat backers that don't use it, it'll be funded.

Ill just leave it as is.
Thanks.

Just to clear this up. Is it only backers of the v1 & v2 moriarty that are getting this free deck or are all international backers getting it?
Not too sure whats happening. In a previous post im sure it said that ALL international backers were getting this free deck?
Have I mis-interpreted?

I missed the original sherlock holmes project but I backed the independence deck and moriarty v2 projects. it was asked several times if the v1 deck would be an add-on during backerkit and the answer was always yes. While I do kind of understand the reasoning for only allowing backers of the original project the add v1 decks, I'm quite disappointed.

we can't add v1 decks, if we backed v1 and v2, all we can add is 1x v1 deck which is the special seal to it.
That is Jackson's way of making sure we don't have to pay for delivery twice.

At the moment, the repeat backers are getting to add the V1 deck. I've talked with Jackson and more than likely, later on, the V1 will be open up so that first time backers can grab it as well. I will admit that there is no perfect solution so that everyone is happy. What we're hoping to do is give a small thank you for repeat backers of the first Sherlock project.

If there's a misunderstanding, it's a goof on our part. I'm sorry about that.
It is international backers of both the first Sherlock KS and the Moriarty reprint that will have that 8$ credit for the V1 deck via BackerKit. Those backers can use the credit or get refunded for it (I'd suggest to use that credit, but then I always welcome a chance to get more cards
). At the moment, only domestic and international repeat backers can add on the V1 deck. More than likely, later on, all backers will be able to add-on the V1 deck.

And I do understand the reasoning. Maybe if it had been stated as "repeat backers only" in the comments. You'll never make everyone happy. lol. Even if I miss V1, at least I have have V2.

Since the backerkit of the Independent Decks closes tomorrow ... my hopes for having the option to add the moriarty V2 to the Indi Order are very low now.

Never? You must not have read this thread all the way through

Then I will include the V2 Moriarty deck along with you Independence rewards.
I know it sucks to have to pay again and I'm sorry for that.

There was a plan and a hope to combine the two Kickstarter campaigns post Kickstarter and post BackerKit. It would have been an administrative back end kind of thing, which was what Jackson was thinking. There was never a plan to have one campaigns item available in another campaign's BackerKit (ie. Moriarty V2 in the Independence BackerKit or Independence decks in the Moriarty V2 BackerKit).
I've said it in the Moriarty V2 comments, but unfortunately, it's not feasible. So for all the people that backed both projects, you will be getting your orders separately.

No worries. As an international backer and KW crew member, I wanted to combine shipping as much too 'cause being a KW crew member sure doesn't convince customs not to charge me duties
.... apparently they don't know how special I am, totally not special at all. LOL.

Special Moriarty V1 now available to all backers, max of 2 per backer.
Hey guys! If you log back onto your Backerkit page you will see that the V1 Special Edition Moriarty Decks are now available to ALL backers of the the Reprint project. A new addon will now be visible for BOTH repeat and new backers.
The deck limit for each person has now been raised to 2 decks. These decks are first come first serve.

Well... In BackerKit there's a v1 add on for repeat backers, and there a v1 add on for all backers. I am not sure why there is a need to differentiate between the two if everyone is now allowed to get one...

Well, i just checked on backerkit, it seems like I can get a total of 3. 1 for repeat, 2 for the new tier for everyone.
