Watching that episode gave me extreme anxiety. Choices are being made arbitrarily and with no regard for the aritist opinion let alone mine as creative director. Several times things were said or shown that were wrong. Both The twilight editions have cream backs. Only the chaotic and prismatic are black background. The fact that it took them 45 minute to discover that the stacks of tucks were not uniform was infuriating. All could’ve been solved with a call to me. But I wasn’t called. Probably because I’ve been voicing my displeasure with the way things are being run.
You might TRY to impress on them to let you QC the video they were talking about making to show what the cards look like or the campaign page itself before it goes up just to avoid..I dont know if we want to call it hilarity, sadness maybe if they dont have a clear picture of what the editions actually look like....try being the operative word from how youre talking about things.
I can just see the wyrmwlife where the samples come in and theyre confused at why they look that way (assumed printing mistake?) already.

I've now decided I won't be backing this campaign. When it completes and decks go up on their site for sale and are in people's hands, I'll take a look again.

The truth is, I shouldn't have to TRY. I'm the expert here. My involvement should be obvious and integral. UNLESS, they feel like they can do things better without me... and seeing the lack of attention to detail so far that's clearly not the case.

What sad, small-minded people. You've probably bruised their fragile egos.

Look, I don't want to give the wrong impression. I'm still cordial with Wyrmwood. I was VERY MUCH involved in every aspect of this deck... so I hope it does well. But I feel a bit marginalized lately with the processes.

Sorry Omar, I imagine this is incredibly difficult for you given the effort you have put in thus far. I just don't think they understand the playing cards world or don't care to. It feels like more of an accessory to their existing work than something they are passionate about. I can only imagine that your current displeasure with them isn't doing any favours considering their attitudes in these videos.
Hopefully it gets resolved but I for one will be happy to see these at all. It has been one of my most anticipated decks all year. So I am trying to stay positive.
when that is wrapped in the youtube display tag it will embed correctly.
Or, you can just read Kevoks post above mine, which I entirely failed to notice before posting this
Thanks for that link Gandalf - it let me expand it to full screen on my desktop

Having watched them release kickstarters over the years this one falls into an interesting category (or should). Groundskeeper was very much one of their “we’re going to sell something we do don’t have to to make it will be great, pure profits” type of campaigns. The new wood thing (cabinets) they were expecting to sell so few that they would give to one of their custom shop aces and have them knock it out not to creates months of work for dozens of people like say their tables or the recent dm screens.
They did this (partially, I’ll get to that) with tarot cards last year and they’ve done in 3x (soon to be 4) with dice as the feature product with a selection of their dice vaults as well. The video I posted was much like one from years past where they went through a dice vendors catalog/samples, laughed at what they thought was funny/ugly and picked a selection to sell on a ks. (And keep in mind they have changed dice vendors at least 3x though the last dispel cut ties after this years controversies while still fulfilling a ks for them (everything was delivered or is on schedule). They’ve also done similar things with candles.
Corrupted is kind of an annual thing themed around Halloween where they are also very interested in selling wood products they made. Some in the basic designs they always sell with the corrupted “logo” others like the “coffin vault” are exclusive to this.
So yes cards are just another product to them. If they don’t sell (or are too much hassle) they just won’t do that again. And they likely feel after tarot that they do know how to do it (right or not)

I started to worry about whether this playing cards project are going to be fulfilled beautifully. From what I’ve seen, WW is just… not so great at it, and we, who are into the project for Wake, have to paid the price for all the misfits they all do…
Hopefully Corrupted shall be the last of the playing cards with them. Just leave them be with their woodworks stuffs in the future

I’ve never gotten a bad product from ww. But they can be infuriating to watch “make the sausage”.
And then sometimes they just have a woodworker show start to finish for something for a video and it all works
(mascot for groundskeeper)

Thanks Evil, great watch
If anyone wants to be able to watch it on a larger screen, try this link
Funny, I found the watch extremely cringe. Just nothing about this company resonates with me and these videos make me even more certain. I'm sure they have their fans, but I am not one of them.

Yeah, perhaps waiting on the fence would be the best option
HECK! The “problem” on International Survey Fulfillment for Groundskeeper still hasn’t been solved yet, and here I am still praying that I could be refunded the ridiculous amount I’ve paid…
Think I see this partnership as somewhat toxic:
Both parties worked together with playing cards project, and then WW goes: “You’ve done well, bye bye *throws Wake to the curb*”
Or maybe that case of Blue Memento Mori - where Murphys just make it without even consulting Chris Ramsay not once; just go ahead with colorize the deck to blue and copy the entire trailer of the original deck trailer.

I dunno about toxic and I haven’t seen anything or heard anything in their comms that give any insight.
I think they may be viewing this like “paladin woodworking” a one man shop who was good at ideas, not production at scale. So they paid him to license his designs and then sold them and they likely saw that as the end of his involvement. (I’m not saying Omar is bad at anything)
Omar on the other had definitely wants to be more involved with the details and isn’t being let do so. That certainly can be frustrating and I understand completely why he would feel that way. Vested interest in its success and all.
It’s airport day for me (12 hours down 1 to go) so I haven’t watched todays video but neither the main content (reviews of people copying their stuff)or the outro mentions the campaign yet. (it is on their instagram though for the 31st...please Omar tell me thats not how you found out.....)

(again cant get the board to take that link with their proper linking no matter what)
SO far this week they've done nothing to promote it on their videos which is...disappointing (sure if they dont have cards there is nothing to make an episode about but they have an outro that gets used to promote kickstarters, its still showing the graphic from the last KS (DM screams) )

I’m still questioning whether I on to this or not.
After that BS i encountered in Groundskeeper, I just can’t put myself into the same situation again…
I like to support what Wake made, but not if its partnered with the unprofessional WW

I have asked for 100 copies of each groundskeeper variant (except prism) so I can offer them on TGW website. I have been told it will be accommodated. That means that if all goes well there’s a high likelihood I can secure 100 copies of each corrupted variant (prism excluded). But that hasn’t been confirmed and things have a way of being fluid with Wyrmwood. So if you are in the USA I suggest backing the campaign. For international backers you will receive decks from gamblers so the shipping will be commensurate with my current website rates.

No, gambler's fulfills MY webstore. Wyrmwood is fulfilling their campaigns. I'm saying if and when I get decks, they will be fulfilled by gamblers. Sorry for the confusion .

Oh sorry, that’s my mistake. Well, I think I’m still rolling the dice to support you even being international. I’ll either regret this or I won’t.

If WW gets their mess fixed up, I will get in. But now, I am still doubting them, because they havent resolved the overcharging fulfillment

I expect them to say something this week based on an update they made to the ks they did after groundskeeper (where they said they would send out surveys 11/1 or so to use the same process).
Also they are “relaunching” their web site (this week?) which may have something to do with it.
Regardless they are likely to catch hell in the comments for this campaign (and the inevitable update they make to groundskeeper saying corrupted launched) and they definitely deserve it.
Worse case they either address it or ignore it on their scheduled update Wednesday.
Im in regardless. (And will be for beetlebacks as well)

and I thought
and they definitely deserve it.
(the criticism they are going to get, and to be honest are getting already)
was pretty clear.

I have to assume tomorrow's video will be entirely about it if not...what the ____...are they doing?
