Im curious as the status of things as well. I don't need to know (and have no right to know) the challenges he and family are working through. But it does feel like its not a heavy lift to have some communication (given he did write on N&D KS. He still has not updated on the C.A.R.D.S KS or his Patreon. I was a Patron and recently canceled because I don't know what's going on with it and he hasn't responded to direct messages there. I personally have not received anything for patronage and honestly don't know that I will.

While I understand and empathize that 'life happens', it would be nice to have even the smallest bit of communication given he took peoples money in exchange for something yet delivered.

I do not feel at liberty to discuss what he has shared with me in private, but suffice it to say that I feel that he was sufficiently “hit by a truck” as to not be terribly surprised that it is taking a while for him to recover.

I appreciate that whatever has happened in his life is severe. However at this point my confidence that either of these projects will eventually deliver is waning to the point that I'm essentially writing them off. If they eventually do, that'll be awesome, but I'll be surprised. I hope whatever has befallen him improves.

I would say that is a healthy attitude at this point - I’ve got my fingers crossed and hopes high after he started sending out a few things and started perking up in general, albeit still below coffee perk level

I'm confident this one will get delivered. I hoped we'd see the color version of these cards but I'll write those off.

I would like to see that happen but with 3 months since the last update.....I'm probably not the only one with worries.

My skepticism of fulfillment was met with a lot of push back and talk of needing to be more supportive and patient. It's been a long time now but how did the decks turn out? I haven't seen any social media posts so collectors must be holding these decks closely. I would love to see some pics and discuss the handling of them.

I am glad we can laugh about it.

Also glad we can forget that being supportive and patient was about the human behind the project, a widget that had some rather sizable difficulties from which we all hoped he would overcome.

Yeah, most glad we are over that.

Well, I've written this project off. Stuff like this is why I have trust issues.

I have no knowledge of what happened and I am very sympathetic to mental health issues (if that is part of the reason here). As I have stated in other posts, I have dealt with these issues in my family. That certainly does not make me unique as I am sure a good percentage of people know someone that struggles. With that said, I have become very cynical to this as an explanation as it seems a majority of excessively late project has this as the reason. I am starting to believe some creators use that as the reason as they know it will get people to back off as people look like a-holes if they push back. Take the money and go ... it is their get-out-of-jail card.

I am not oblivious or immune to this - but guilty until proven otherwise doesn’t fit my aesthetic, so innocent until proven otherwise will have to do. A poor system that will have to do until omni-prescience arrives.


I do not feel I was lied to regarding this - I have not detected any lingering fishy smell that some trust seems to hold - I will put it in my pocket and it should keep fine until we hear more news...

Ya know, I've been losing enthusiasm for the hobby lately and campaigns like this one are a large part of why. I have patience for delays. I have sympathy for various issues in life making fulfillment difficult and hope those difficulties improve. I have ZERO sympathy for no communication whatsoever. There's absolutely no excuse for it at all in our hyper connected world. Whether it's Native Tongue or Alex Chin, small updates take no effort and at least show some respect to those that backed them. This one is particularly egregious as it's two different campaigns he's ghosting on. I don't care what the reason for the delay is. Your family was captured by aliens? You lost your favorite pair of socks and are now huddled in a cocoon? Just TELL US. You can't garner sympathy in silence.

I am one of Brad's patrons. When I went back and looked at his most recent posts in Patreon...wow. It has been a while. I had not idea it was so long ago, August 11, 2023. Brad did send me a package a couple of months ago (scratch that, it was in January) with I think the year one patron package, which was way cool. So, he is still out there. Honestly, I am on such a crazy busy schedule, I don't keep up like a used to. A whole thread on the state of the hobby might be interesting or depressing. Cartamundi backing out of custom playing cards completely. The lack of hype this year started to be a nice thing, but I am kinda missing even that. It is honestly getting a bit scary...anyway, back to work.

Welcome to my realm… at least we still some great and reliable producers/designers like Omar, Jocu, Gio, Lorenzo and Jackson.

There are plenty of ways to be taken offline. He was indeed offline and might at this moment again be offline - that is indeed a real possibility.

I'm sorry to hear Brad is or was in a coma. Hopefully he gets better soon and is able to complete his obligations.

His Instagram profile says he's an Iraq Vet. If I had to guess, it's something related to that. Just speculating at this point since there's no info and people who know aren't saying because they're apparently sworn to secrecy. Maybe he has severe PTSD or something he is dealing with, who knows.
