Seconding @rousselle comments, same reason I tend to shut up on this forum now because UC people in general are harder and harder to impress, fails to identify where the source of the problem is due, and puts nonsensical amount of expectation and criticism on creators.

These are such unique decks. NPCCD decks always were. This pandemic has kicked, production, shipping, everything in the teeth. The photos make me wish I got more. I know I am in the majority that are stoked these are being shipped soon and will be waiting anxiously for Alex's next production.

I'm sure once these decks are in the hands of the backers, the conversation will be back to how talented a designer Alex is. Creative types take chances. That's how they push things forward, both personally as an expression of their creativity, and professionally as they create new and exciting products for the market. As an example, I personally disliked Lotrek's Crypt project, but I get the idea and where he was going with it. And I think he accomplished what he set out to do, a feat for which I have much respect. Same thing for Alex with his upcoming decks. They are going to be amazing. Asking him to go with a simpler tuck just won't work for him, as he needs to challenge himself. I do agree that this could have been communicated differently, as not everyone has instagram, so perhaps like others have said he can work on improving communication through emails as well as the socials.

2) Alex reported in his e-mail to backers that GW has actually proven they can assemble these special tucks, which leads one to believe that maybe the problem isn't with the next level tucks, but rather, the problem is with AoP not being up to the task and failing to let Alex know that earlier.
AoP messed up big time and so glad GW came to the rescue.

Without knowing how complex the fulfillment is, I am not going to blast AoP for not being able to complete the fulfillment. In fact, I am fairly sure it is a very complex job. I am just glad that Gamblers Warehouse is able to get it done. But of course, that is Texas for you.

Pretty pathetic display of loyalty from some UC members. If you cannot trust Alex then you probably need another hobby.

Yeah, that brings up another issue that's been bothering me.
Yes, we have one or two people who tend to only post unhelpful, negative posts. But, most members here post helpful, constructive comments. And yet, somehow, we're talking ourselves into the idea that it's too negative here.
I sincerely wish we call could acknowledge all the good stuff that's going on here.
More on this topic later (and, on its own thread; I don't want to hijack this thread's conversation about one of my most anticipated decks of the year.)
But, hey. Let's remember: we're here to celebrate playing cards, offer constructive suggestions about improving cards, and share information that can be helpful to each other.
Thank you for attending my TEDTalk.

From what I read, I don't see anyone ever doubting Alex, that was not on the table ever... What was asked was more respect to those who gave him their hard earned money. And by respect I mean communication, it was the only thing ever asked...
But it seems that some designers have almost a "green card" to do whatever they want (whenever they want) with someone else's money... That's not something I'm in peace with.
If I pay for something that is expected to be delivered on a previous agreed date, I expect to have that something on the date, otherwise I expect to be updated on why I don't have what I paid for, and that's not asking too much or being negative, is just asking for a bit of respect and consideration (at least in my book).

100% in agreement. Well said. We want this to be a place where creators will come and share with us their process, not a negative place where they choose to avoid. If that happens, we lose something truly wonderful and special. Yes, it is right to point out oversights like the lack of communication. That makes perfect sense, and I am confident Alex will make it right by giving us the most incredible decks, as he always does. Stay United, Cardists!

And I'm sure that everyone who gets these decks will be blown away by them! Alex always produces amazing stuff that pushes the boundaries of the best in the business.

We wanted to update you all on the status for the latest on the 2020 NPCCD decks. Production of all items were finished earlier this year and given to an established assembly/fulfillment group specializing in cards. We had estimated that they would begin shipping this past week. Unfortunately we were given the news a couple days ago at a month check in that they were unable to do the project due to the box complexity after various attempts. This was disappointing for us to hear especially and painful for us to share with you guys as well who have been waiting so patiently.
The good news however is that we have reached out to the amazing people at @gamblerswarehouseofficial and they have already tested and approved the ability to take on this complex project
All items are already in transit to them and we are so grateful for their expertise.
The estimated completion of full project assembly given has been 2-3 weeks in which afterwards the decks will immediately go out from that location direct to you all to make up for lost time.
Side news: UNBROKEN will finally be fulfilled end of this month! Some hiccups on making these were figured out so it is now ready for scale as well. ITADAKIMASU is officially set up for a summer launch. And finally a secret that we've been holding and working on for a while will be made later this month.

I don't understand the point of pinning creators on ESTIMATED dates either. Maybe some don't get that estimate and guarantee aren't synonymous

During these times when people are affected both directly and indirectly by the pandemic, I think if delivery estimates are so important to someone then it might be best to not buy right now. I prefer to take a more understanding approach and not get so worked up on a deck of playing cards, yes a deck of playing cards, not making it to me when estimated.

But back on topic though, there's a global pandemic going on and everything is just slower. And Alex is always pushing the boundaries with design and his end product is always top tier. If it takes a bit longer to get the decks, I'll gladly wait.

I have tried to not respond here again, but I guess I will.
The fulfillment is being done now by Gambler's Warehouse. While I have been getting several projects from Gambler's Warehouse, It is my understanding that they are behind. And, the pandemic has affected them as several of their employees came down with covid and a number decided not to return. I believe they had to hire some new staff to replace those that left. Also, from what I read from Alex, this fulfillment is a bit complex, so it would not surprise me if Gambler's Warehouse is taking their time with the fulfillment to make sure they get it right. Personally, I would rather that they take their time and get MY shipment right. I have no problem with them shipping yours wrong.
While Alex is ultimately responsible, he is not shipping these decks himself this time.
In the meantime, I have 14 Onda decks and a brick of the new Sins decks (and Conquers) that came in this week to amuse me.

I'm happy to wait for as long as it takes, knowing that we're living in a time where a lot of normal processes have been disrupted significantly due to COVID. Somehow it even seems oddly appropriate that a "Hindsight is 2020" deck about a crazy pandemic year would be delayed somewhat for this exact reason.
When it comes to the quality of his work, Alex Chin is one of the most original and creative playing card designers there is. Any wait is going to be so worth it, and it won't hurt me to practice my patience. And meanwhile I'll only have positive things to say about Alex, his hard work, his passion for playing cards, and his dedication to the community.
So I'm sure they'll get to us. And I'm sure they'll be amazing.

An estimate is just an estimate. If you are preordering anything, waiting is just part of the process. In this day and age people are used to immediate gratification, but this is the wrong industry/hobby for you if you choose to go the kickstarter/preorder route. The other option is to just wait for the deck to hit retail and take your chances with the secondary prices. But the downside is the risk of it going up in price. Most of the time though, you can find it for sale at a reasonable price from one of these lovely UC members (like myself!). For me, I kind of like forgetting about it (easy to do as I am on the wrong end of 40 now) and then getting a notification that it has been shipped. Anyways, in the end you are going to have something special from Alex. I cannot wait for members to share their UNBROKEN decks on here. So exciting!
