Gio, I think His Regal Orangeness wanting the US to "be back in business" and return to normal in ~2 weeks is pie in the sky, but I'm certain to not be alone in saying these are eagerly awaited, as well as the Patreon decks. What amounts to a postal delay like this is the least of the world's problems currently.

Speaking of Patreon, I've just nabbed a tier for March. I'll continue to support you this way. Seems like the least I can do.

More fantastic decks! (and the UV looks incredible.)

I just got my Modern Idols yesterday. After the unboxing I eas kinda disapointed with the tuckboxes of the Endless Editions. Kind of the same problem like with some of the Luminosity boxes. Details aren't crisp and besides being cellowraped the holofoil already took a slight beating. Minor scratches and rub-offs. Not too bad but instead of a fresh full bling look, it gives them a "they are laying around in my drawer for quite a while"-look.
I didn't remove the foil to make better pictures since I'm thinking about selling/giving them away later.

I still like them though and Gio will probably learn and improve future tucks.

Hmm, not what we're used to seeing. I think quite possibly and most likely that whoever was working was swamped and trying to pound through things as quickly as possible. Really just looks like someone had a bad day and was rushing a bit at the printer on tuck box printing day. Interesting how quality control didn't stop and reset but then it was probably the same person doing that as well on a skeleton crew just trying to keep the lights on and the doors open. I do not think this is any kind of flaw in the design of the imagery on the tuck boxes. This is probably (most definitely more than likely) what happens in a high stress environment during a high stress period of time coming off work closures due to The Rona. I don't know of a single anybody that was able to safeguard against this pandemic. The good thing is yall has some brilliant decks in yer paws! (And it's not even 2021 yet!) Thanks for showing.

In most print shops I have been there is no real QM anymore. Not just because of Sars-CoV2 but because of decreasing profit margins in the print industry in general. QM nowadays mostly means that some sheets get marked as samples to send to the customer and for QM and that's mostly it. The rest of the run is fingers crossed that everything is within production margin, haha.
This is definitely on GW, just like the Luminosity boxes.

I am aware that a part of Modern Idols limited editions have those issues on foil - those are not really errors/misprintings, but are due to the properties of the paper and the holographic foil I've used.

The paperhave a really strong "fiber" texture, similar to fabric, and that texture have some problems with foil, especially the holographic one.
Also Order Electus, one of my favourite boxes I've made, have a similar issue due to the strong texture of the paper, and I had the same issue with Lunatica Chimera/Phoenix holofoil printed by Clover St Press.

The only way to prevent these issues would be pick "safe" paper, usually smooth over textured, and/or avoid holographic foil.
Also, avoiding large foil areas and thicker lines would help - this is the only thing I can do as designer to kinda prevent these issues.

However, despite these flaws, I think the Modern Idols limited editions are really nice. The paper is spectacular ( it's the same kind of paper on Eva Paradis and Apocalisse Wrath of God).
I suggest to see those boxes at direct sunlight, outdoor, maybe whithout cellowrap - the result is really cool because the metallic particles in the paper.

Anyways, I am sorry for the disappointment, I hope that future boxes will have less issues

I remember we had a similar issue with holographic foil on the tucks with The Planets. In fact, the first issue (Mercury Limited) was a real problem that got a bit better later. Gio of course gives much better information on what happened.
