Surprise update on the KS page, GOLD MONOLITH available for preorder!!
Hello Backers!
Monolith project will be completed in few weeks, and I might be able to ship between June and July - now it's time to reveal a "little" surprise
Gold Monolith available for preorder!
I've produced a very limited edition called Gold Monolith, with Black Monolith's cards, a with a different box and HOLOGRAPHIC FOIL GILDING. Combined with the holographic cold foil on card backs and faces, it's probably one of the craziest decks ever produced.
There will be just 500 Gold Monolith decks, all sealed and numbered.
Only 300 of those will be available for preorder, only for Kickstarter backers, from... NOW
There is no limit, you can purchase as many decks as you wish.
The production cost of this deck is very high but the launch price for backers will be resonable: $49 incl. shipping - on the contrary, retail will be very high, $95 + shipping.
+++ IMPORTANT - If you have a Universe or a Multiverse Box, you already have one FREE Gold Monolith decks included in your Box. Of course you can purchase more if you wish to
+++
Other Monolith items last chance preorder
Since the shipping is near, I've decided to open a small window for a "last chance preorder" on Monolith Decks, Coins and Cases, with a price slightly higher than Kickstarter. The sale will last few days, then I'll send the surveys and preorder won't be available anymore.
Here is the link for preorder Gold Monolith and other Monolith items:

Don't make the stupid mistake that I made if you're a Patron; the free shipping code is actually the better deal than the tier discounts!
Gold Monolith specs:
LIMITED TO 500 decks, numbered and sealed
HOLOGRAPHIC GILDING
Same cards of Black Monolith: Holographic cold foil on card backs and faces
Premium tuckbox with matte paper, gold and red foil
Neon Inks, fluorescent under UV light
Premium paper for cards
176 remaining as of now
Printed by Cartamundi

Got one. Picked up an extra black deck too. Can never have too many cold foil decks!

I like this deck, but... being the same cards gilded in a new box, I think I might pass even though I am a huge Gio fan. I don't need to have every variation. Spent a ton lately. Also, just got a deal for 60 bucks to pick up a 3 deck Odissea set that I paid for about 10 minutes ago.
I wasnt collecting when that was on KS so think would rather pick up that set than this variation.

This is basically where I'm at myself. I've sprung for fancy retucks before (notably on Lunatica, another Gio project), but this is, as near as I can tell, the same linework as on the Monolith White and Black tucks, just in a different color scheme - and one that doesn't, in my opinion, suit the color palette of the cards the way the other tucks do.
I wish all the best for Gio and his preorder campaign; I'm sure he'll have no problem offloading these without my help. But I'd rather save my handful of grubby pennies for the next design

Usually I'm fine skipping out on complete Gio sets (e.g. I don't need an Omnia Suprema, I've got two other Omnia decks already!), but I especially like the Monolith theme and art
He's also posted a few sneak peeks at his next project on Patreon and I'm excited about that one too

Same here. I think I've basically sworn off gilded decks in general at this point, they're nice to look at and I understand why others would want them in their collection, but they kind of go against some of my collecting criteria for playing cards.

Saw there were only 15 left so I hastily ordered a gold along with a black and white. After ordering, I realized I already had 2x black and 2x white from backing on KS. Oh well, can't have too many decks, eh?

I think the Black Monolith are stunning, so I went ahead and picked up one of those. Thanks for the reminder. The extra Black Monoliths are running out as well. I think there were just 13 of those as well. It will be interesting to see how well they handle. $49 for the Golden Monoliths gets a bit pricy though. [MURRAY]

DAMMIT GIO! Between you, Jody and TGW I don't think I've spent enough on playing cards this week. But a nigh-on 50% discount at this stage -- accounting for Australian retail prices for previously issued limited decks -- is too significant to ignore.
I guess Conquerors will have to wait until next pay.
10 left.

Hello guys! Thanks for the valuable feedbacks!
I am aware that Gold Monolith is not for everyone - it's a very different deck than my "usual" ones.
I usually prefer focus on art and story, not on "printing bruteforce" like this - but since Delirium Prism I dreamed about to make deck like Gold Monolith, with holofoil on every side
It wasn't possible in 2014....
I'm glad that a lot of people loved it, the sales went really well and I hope it will turn well as I think.
I am aware that the price is high, but on the other side this is the most expensive deck I've produced and I did my best to keep it resonable, at least.
I am glad it sold, otherwise I would have lost money, since it's already in production and -hopefully- almost completed.

The decks were restocked +50. I think there's not going to be any sold on the website after, if what I'm getting from the update is correct.

Your first? Oh, you sweet summer child.
Before you get them, you may want to mentally prepare yourself for the upcoming hunt you'll soon find yourself on, as you try to track down Gio's, quite frankly beautiful, back catalogue.
Good luck! [emoji16]

Gio and I have gone back and forth on that plenty on Reddit. I'm new to UC but am not over there.
He's a scoundrel...he offered discounts on some of his best bundles to get me hooked. Hey Gio can your next deck be focused on the Primrose Path?

I'll state my general bit of advice having gone down this path. I would strongly recommend new collectors to first back stuff going forward than spending $$$ going back and picking up stuff. One issue with this is that there is a LONG lead time for when you fund Kickstarters and when you actually receive the decks. That bites for a new collector, but it is just what you have to do to get the new decks you want. Also, you get the best prices. Another option is to be a Patreon backer for the artist you want. Gio really offers so great deals, so that would work great. You can go back and some of his decks are very affordable. Some of his decks are really expensive. Just take it easy as costs can really add up. Save money to back the designers you like. Try to be selective. There are a lot of great designers and even I am having to be selective. There are some great designers I just don't really collect and quite a few that I might get one of each. Then there are a few I go crazy for almost all the time.

+1.
I also recommend new collectors to focus more on Kickstarter than aftermarket. You will recieve better price and able to gain more insights towards the whole design process as well.

More a Betrayer than a Scoundrel haha
I always offer bundles for complete the collection: I want to help new collectors get the previous ones with, at least, a good discount - since my retail prices are way higher than Kickstarter.
Other ways to get my decks with good deals are Patreon (which have a great value) and my sales. But probably no sales for some months, I'm already launching too many items and I will calm down until Monolith is completed.
I didn't know about Primrose Path - I've googled and I guess it's a joke for telling me that I'm a tempter. If that was the idea... it's true.
