Thanks for letting us know. Lorenzo will have some available later. I might put one up as a prize for the annual DOTY....

6 hours and not sold out yet? Colour me surprised for something so limited from a well known designer.

It surprises me that you're surprised. It is an over-run with a new (much better) tuck box, nothing really fancy, nothing that is essentially really special. Patreon top tier backers get/or have got their deck and people that really wanted them could have bought it from Caroline earlier. Therefore, not really surprising that they don't sold out immediatly. 50$ is just too hefty and only for hardcore Lorenzo fans out there.

That's the thing though, most limited and special editions are exactly that, a tuck box, in some cases just a seal on a tuck box. So with both a unique tuck and seal (apart from the numbers being the same), this is no different to any other desirable limited release, plus it's an under 300 limited release from Stockholm17 of all people. I do get that the price is a bit heavy of course, but I don't have any RAVN decks so I figured if I was going to have one it might as well be this one which may well be hard to come by in the future.

You're right there. But I guess Ravn being Lorenzo's most common deck is a factor here. And I would say the average Lorenzo customer is a bit pickier than the average card collector. I for my part have all of them (besides red mini and the Summer Ale), since I like the deck as a classic deck and I like the stock. But the last release was very disappointing (not the cards but the tuck boxes) compared to his older ones. I second that If one askes me which Ravn to get, Summer Ale is definetly top3, but I guess the price is just killing it for too many but regarding the low number, they'll sell out anyways. I bet until end of next week they're gone.

Well, I have one from Caroline, which was signed by her. I am getting one since I am a Patreon supporter (which will be signed by Lorenzo) and I am getting one this time (which will be unsigned). I guess you could say I am getting three micro variations of the special tuck. I didn't really plan on it that way. As a Patreon supporter, I get 20% off through Stockholm17's store, so it was "only" $40 for me. Still, a high price, but somehow I get the "bargain" bug in me   .

I picked one up as well. I like the novelty (symmetry) of being able to have all three summer ale versions in a nice 3-deck carat case. One signed by Caroline, one signed by Lorenzo and then the regular one with no signature. The one from Caroline will be the only one with no cello on it, but I will try not to notice that.

I did not get the Summer Ale deck from Caroline because I thought it was too expensive. But I am weak and ended up getting a couple of decks from Lorenzo. Sigh, no willpower.

I have very few decks that are just a tuck swap only. The high price on this has kept me away.

I suppose I am not the average collector, or maybe I'm just a cheap ass. I give absolutely no f's for quantity produced. I will not buy a deck just because it is "limited" or "rare". If I like it I like it, if I don't, I don't. I don't care if there were 100 or 100,000 made. I also don't care for seals. If I had my choice, no decks would have seals on them.

So the trifecta of limited, seal and tuck swap have absolutely no sway on my purchasing decision. I suppose that is not completely true, they would sway me to not purchase.

$50 for a tuck swipe, no no no.

I really want these as I don't have any other RAVN decks and these are far and away my favorite color-wise (the tuck paper :o :D ), but $50 is very steep. It also rubs me the wrong way that it's not even signed but is still the same price :(

I think he would sign the tucks, but the decks are fulfilled by GW, so he can’t sign them.

Yup, they‘re shipped via GW, that is why a signature isn‘t possible.

I think if the standard tuck was this summer tuck and the brown tuck was the one on sale for $50 instead, I think more people would go for it.

What!? No way, at least not if people see it in person. The standard Sol tuck box is one of the worst in the world. Believe me, if that would have been for a Lotrek deck, he would have stomped the whole run and reprinted. The chocolate soft touch and copper foil combo is aweful. If the cards in there weren’t good I would have littered them immediatly.

Ravn isn't unique enough for me to be interested in any "Limited Editions".

It's a series that has 6 different-colored decks. It doesn't fit the bill.

The problem is that the chocolate tuck came out darker than it should've been but still looks nice.

Each to their own, I guess. If you're happy with them than it is fine. For me, they are heavily underwhelming. For one part due to what Lotrek is capable of and seeing what Lotrek and Lorenzo have done in the past (Look at the quality of the House of the Rising Spades tuck and then tell me they are the same quality).
The details of the foiling just gets lost due to the soft touch card board. It is not good in all three versions, imo. What makes the Sol the worst is that besides how aweful the soft touch responds to the foiling (try stamping a responsive surface and you know what I mean), the contrast is bad aswell.
Summer Ale was the right step and I would say, which always stays in the realm of speculations of course and is nothing but my guess, that the Standard Sol tuck would have never sold better than the Summer Ale version.

Here are all three variants of the Raven III Summer Ale deck. One unsigned, one signed by Lorenzo and one signed by Caroline Ravn.

Interesting!

I didn't know that there are 3 variants of the Summer Ale deck. Care to share what is the difference across all 3 decks?

I think the only difference are the signatures.

Thanks. I literally thought that there are 3 variants of this deck as per Bradius's post above but it makes sense now.

Yeah, that was not a good way to explain it. It is just the two different signatures and one without a signature. If you bought one of these decks from Caroline Ravn directly, she agreed to sign the tuck. As a High tier Patreon supporter for Lorenzo, a signed Summer Ale for him was included, and if you bought one of Lorenzo's Summer Ale decks from his shopify site, it was unsigned, You had to get them from three different sources.

The Summer Ale is really just a tuck swap anyway, but it really matches the deck back color nicely.

Yeah, I didn't realize the one from his Shopify was unsigned. I got the one from Ravn directly and I'll be getting the one from the Patreon package. I guess now I need to hunt down an unsigned deck :)

Just because I am insane in my collecting habits sometimes, is no reason for anyone else to go off the deep end. Personally, I think my collecting on the Summer Ale is a bit absurd.
