Maybe I'm making a mistake making this my first post but I honestly don't see why any of the last messages would be seen as impolite. Sure they were direct but politeness in my opinion would have begun with shaming or insults nothing of which was actually said. I'm in a very similar role here to be honest. With inflation eating up my already limited budget the cards were simply not good or rather unique enough for me to justify spending money on. But that is my decision. What I find baffling is how one can honestly compare oneself to really high value brands like BMW and seemingly justify any arbitrary price point through the power of brands. Doesn't make sense to me and doesn't make me any more likely to back any future campaigns. Personally it seems more arrogant and tone deaf than the rest of this discussion.

Yes, all humans are equal, and all are deserving of basic civility and politeness, whether online or in real life. A lesson I hope you are willing to learn.
I can respect your relentlessness but:
Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 1:52 amChalk it up under cultural or personal differences. I am glad we talked about that and are able to move on by agreeing to disagree what combative, civil, better community and better discussion means.

“one thing in common and that is OVERPRICE, nothing wrong with that is just that it kind show where you may want to be.” would qualify as passive aggressive at best, not polite, for example.
How???
Stating that BMW or Apple or Tesla are overpriced is a fact, you have standards that you can compare them to and easily draw that conclusion. (EDIT: and these brands are very much aware that they are overpriced, but they are ok with it as their market is still growing.) If TGW wants to be known as the BMW or Apple or Tesla of playing cards thats fine too, granted it is not for me, but he is free to chose so.
When I asked the reason for the price was genuinely because I thought that there was something special about the production that would make the deck so expensive, we know that a holo gilded decks can go for $60 easy, but this one had the sleeve, and I was truly interested in understanding if the production of the sleeve would add that much to the price, just that. And you as a mod should know better and try to check all the points-of-view that may be subjective to a post before state something as passive aggressive or not polite.

Some of what TGW has said most recently has made me understand his disappointment more and maybe why people are feeling a bit put off by him. With this campaign, he was going for the brass ring* and he could actually see it, but missed. That is disappointing. At the same time, he was never completely forthright that that was his true measure of success, so many of us assumed that beating his last two campaigns (in $, but not in # of backers) was still a win. I've never been so personally invested in a card creator's success as I have been here, so that's saying something.
*this English idiom means "going for the highest prize" or "achieving the ULTIMATE goal" and usually implies not settling for less.

Anyone that generates over $249,000 outside of a 9-5 is huge. I wouldn't call it complaining if someone wanted to go beyond that, which is called having goals. You can be grateful for what you accomplished but still want more.

Back to my statement again: The Successor is AoP's Standards on steroids.
The tuckbox that has so many foils, the six variants - a few of the editions that are gilded; the collector's box that has a 3D sculpture. Everything about this campaign speaks madness. The price for this campaign, well 50% I feel it is right, 50% I feel these are sort off overpriced that scares so many people away. At least be grateful that the campaign is funded, rather than it fails and waited for another right time to launch it.

“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”
This is my favorite quote from Warren Buffet. It sums up everything market related. If you think that paying $XXX will get you something of $XXX+ value, you buy. If not, you pass. The object of desire, amount of money and +factor can be anything.
How much profit anyone makes, is completely irrelevant.
Overpriced is an item that you can find exactly the same next door at a lower price.

This is getting a bit off topic, but Lotrek's reply reminded me keenly of finding out many years ago of a hurricane a long way out, but had a really good likelihood of hitting my city. I quickly dashed to the neighborhood Lowes home supply store and got their last portable generator right before someone else tried to grab it. I felt so great snagging that deal. However, my elation was short lived. I next went to Costco to get some bottled water and other stuff only to find a ton of better generators for sale $100 less than what I just paid....lol. It still cracks me up. Still, glad I got one when I could before they quickly sold out.

I figure whenever a backerkit email gets sent out, you're able to change your address and then purchase additional items. I got the KS email first then the BK.

Yes. The backerkit email will provide a link that will allow backers to addon additional items and/or change address. The survey can be accessed at any time from that link. So address changes can be made or even more items added up until the addresses are locked and the cards charged sometime before getting ready for fulfillment.

Could it be because The link isn’t working yet? Will it work once the preorder store goes live Monday?

If you don't add the https:// then the forum thinks the link is https ://unitedcardists. com/www. wake.video/ successor (without the spaces) but if you add https, it goes to the backerkit site but says it's not open for preorders yet.
