We reached out to most of the creators on KS when we began this campaign and will continue to. The majority of them chose not to respond. Unfortunately we can't make them share our project. We have shared on social media, blogs and forums. We updated on our previous campaigns about it and will continue to. Hopefully our backers will continue to share it as well. It has been very frustrating for me because I have put a ton of work into this and feel that it is some of my best yet.

Dave it is your best work to date, especially with alec pointing out tiny missing bits you overlooked, because it is so complex IMO. I wonder if people think the lighter shades of "gold/tan" will be foil and not what they look like, if my reading of the card printing details is correct.daveEdgerly wrote:It has been very frustrating for me because I have put a ton of work into this and feel that it is some of my best yet.
Good luck and I'll keep sharing!
Move on, nothing to see here.

Let's get this project funded. I'd urge everyone to add a deck or two and hope an upward tick helps momentum pick up.
Nice to see Natalia Silva cross-promote it recently. Off to add to my pledge.

Sans a miracle this isn't going to fund and that makes me really upset. I know the Edgy Bros. tried everything but... well... I don't know. I'm at a loss for words. I just wish I had this deck to display in my collection.

Re: Select aka Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers live o
we just cancelled funding on the select series campaign. we sent an update to our backers explaining the move - we want to be designated as funding cancelled instead of funding unsuccessful - after it became clear that we weren't going to make it. we'd gained all of about $300 over the last two weeks, and it was pretty much a fait accompli at this point.
who knows the reason why this one didn't connect - maybe it was several reasons. as for the "primo" incarnation, dave and i took a chance on an idea that was off the beaten path for us because we like to stretch creatively from time to time and take a risk. it didn't work. so, we thought we'd adapt it to something that was straight down the middle, detailed, and sleekly designed. still didn't click. but it wasn't for lack of trying - we Facebook updated, we tweeted, we did numerous cross promotions, card reveals, engaged backers, you name it. but the bottom line is if a deck doesn't connect, that's all there is to it. we actually told our backers that if things didn't improve over the last day or so, that they should pull their pledges and and support other decks, and even gave them a couple to consider. we think creators should back other creators and pledge other campaigns when they can. that little bit of help really makes a difference sometimes.
also, we've talked in the past about what add ons typically mean for the bottom line of a campaign. plenty of other creators out there provide lots of add ons, and sometimes even give away decks when backers pledge for a certain amount. it's a creator's prerogative to run their campaign how they see fit, but we already know the extra expense and time and effort required to wrangle all those things. we want our decks to stand or fall on their own merits. if we'd included add ons in the mix, we'd have had to raise the funding goal as well and we'd be back where we started. bottom line - when you've got a deck everybody loves, you don't need anything else.
we're going to give cards a rest for a while. we've got our royal house decks coming soon - uspcc has told us they're being printed now and the gilding process will start right after - and once we get those to our backers and decide how we want to handle the remaining inventory (and we're talking extremely limited inventory in this case, so it won't take long) we're effectively done with cards for the near future.
we've got a very, very big project we're working and will launch on kickstarter in a couple of months. it has nothing to do with playing cards, so we won't waste anyone's time with it here. suffice it to say it's easily the most challenging, labor intensive thing dave and i have ever attempted, and dave's art is already looking outstanding. we're pretty excited about it.
that said, we genuinely appreciate the support we've found here on united cardists. you guys are crucial to the industry, and we were thrilled to have so much experience to call upon for notes and feedback. thanks, keep it up, and we hope to talk again soon!
