Bicycle Freakies - LIVE on Kickstarter
Shamelessly take from Discourse; this from the guy who created the Lego Steampunk deck that never happened.
Now he's creating another copyright infringed deck: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freakies
Not interested, even if it wasn't stolen art.

the Left hand had some different opinions than the Right hand regarding some elements in the Steampunk Deck.
The result is that it has taken the Steampunk deck into a slightly changed, though thoroughly Mind-Blowing direction.
When I can share the REDUX version I certainly will do so.

The royalty cards look like boogers, handling cereal. Not appealing to me...

Ah cool, thanks for the update CBJ. P.S. You are now on probation for mentioning the "other forum" Although you made an attempt to veil your mention, we all know what you mean. It may be mentioned only as "that which shall not be named"
Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
There is nothing wrong with mentioning any other forums, including The Discourse.

Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
It is a pity that that Bicycle Lego Steampunk heroes deck wasn't accepted, I really like it. the creator told me he would do it for sure, but after so many time, I don't think he can do it again...
The freakies deck is a little bit freaky but, if it is Bicycle, I would be probably interested on it.

Yes Russ, we were just poking fun. By the way, I would actually be intersted in these decks, need to find out if they will be USPCC, as the above good fellow mentioned.Russell wrote:There is nothing wrong with mentioning any other forums including The Discourse.

Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
Walrus,
I'm not against mentioning Aether.... but Alex is up to his tricks again.
It used to be that whenever you wrote unitedcardists.. he had it set up so it would abreviate it to UC
so.. example.. if you typed in http://www.unitedcardists.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , it would automatically change it to http://www.uc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... making EVERY link posted towards here invalid.
After I openly complained about it, he corrected the issue.
Now.. he's done it again...
If you type in a unitedcardists link.. it automatically adds spaces.. making it a dead link
like this...
2 spaces
here's where I first discovered it
http://aethercards.com/discourse/playin ... ck-in-pink!/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and even my tagline at the bottom... the link is broken
look how bad the links break up about 3/4 of the way down in my first post in that thread
Obviously done on purpose
I sent Alex a message on FB, he read it, but hasn't responded.
I mentioned it to don again today.. and he sent me this..
"check this out - no problem
http://aethercards.com/discourse/playin ... /test-3474" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and this
http://aethercards.com/discourse/profile/CBJ/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

every single one works - I'm not seeing a problem here, or at least not one that's still around
perhaps that's why Alex didn't respond?"
this is what I saw...
It the first scenario.. and this new one.. it is obvious that this is done on purpose to avoid people from being redirected to UC from Aether.
I think it's really low class for Alex to do what he's done, and to get Don to try to tell me that everything is fine.
That's why I made the comment I did.
anyway.. back on topic. This used to be a cereal!

Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
I do not understand what his reasoning was on doing such a thing. I do not think Aether and UC are in competition. The way I look at it is the more the merry. I am often asked about forums for playing cards on a magic forum I visit regularly I always recommend both Aether and UC. Oh well, to each his own.

Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
Doobybrain,
One would have to assume that Alex (aether) wasn't happy that he was consistently getting shown in a bad light because of how long he's taking to ship out the Vortex deck (yes some people STILL don't have them). He's received so many negative messages about him being a scam artist, that he has removed all of those threads from Aether and is now considering changing the name of the forum. I would imagine the name change is because AetherCards/Vortex has built a very bad reputation because of how Alex has been handling things.
I also think that Alex is still mad that I left my mod position there to try to revive UC when it was still at the .net address. UnitedCardists.com is growing at an awesome rate, and I'm happy to be a part of it.
I used to post all the time at Aether, but I rarely do now. Alex is arrogant and rude. The deliberate "breaking of the links" for the UC web-addresses was really the last straw for me.
Anyway, I hope this clarifies some things for you.

Re: Potentially new KS deck - Freakies (Jan '13)
Hello United Cardists,
( looks I walked into some ongoing discussion about competing playing card groups .. )
The Freakies?
OK, just so everyone 'gets it'.
The Freakies are a real cereal from the 1970's. I grew up eating this stuff, and did it purely for the joy of collecting the wild and 'freaky' character mascots that planted that wild and infectious commercial jingle into my young head.
These cards are a passion project for me. They aren't meant to appeal to everyone in the universe. I could have played it safe and done some zombies, or tentacled elder gods, or super-slick Illustrator style with 30 layers of fading neon and subtle metallic inks but then it wouldn't be true to the original source material.
These decks are meant to be unique and unlike anything else that is already out there. If you are feeling adventurous please join me on the strange little journey.
Steampunk Heroes is still on the table, just making the requested/needed adjustments, and these things take time.
Thanks for your support,
Himber
