Xerography Playing Cards

Unread post by markallender »

Here is my new playing cards project in Kickstarter. All of the artwork was run thru an office photocopier and enlarged five or six times before being digitized, thus creating the contours and complex color separations that you see.

In addition, there are 18 different pips for each suit, and no single pip is duplicated on any one card.

I think this is a really great idea, I would love to see it done with traditional courts

I completely agree. Neat idea, but would love to see with either traditional courts or at least courts that better conform to the usual elements.

Still... neat idea.

Just a quick note of explanation, the reason I used live models instead of more traditional court cards was so that I could experiment with non-digitized photographs on office copiers. An artistic choice, that's all. Thanks m

I've had a few comments from people saying they'd support this campaign if it were printed by a different company (like Legends) Your thoughts?

I am definitely a quality snob; I have an expectation of a high foundation of quality from any product I put money towards, art is no exception. Playing cards more so because there is a utility to them that requires they meet a standard of quality for use

Yes, if printed by Legends, I'm in.
