Select aka Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers live on KS
Coming soon in January, Primo from Edgy Brothers. Colors and design were inspired by Mod fashion from the late 60's. Playable, swank, totally Primo!

I like the courts, but the backs don't really appeal to me. Will it be offered in other colors?

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
You might want to be careful with that back design. A slight shift with the printing plate would be very obvious.
Love the courts though

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
Metallic inks? Please?
I mean, if it's Primo, it must have metallic inks, no?
As for the design on the back: I like it, but yeah, I recommend you make sure it's properly centered / sized so that it is a two-way and not a one-way, and also work with a printer who will guarantee the cut registration!
I love your work, Edgy Bros!

we plan on starting with the red deck and offering a blue deck as a stretch goal.PrincessTrouble wrote:I like the courts, but the backs don't really appeal to me. Will it be offered in other colors?

Thanks for the input and compliments!
@rouselle, we will definitely be using metallic inks. here is a fairly realistic mockup with metallic gold ink.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I like these and will like the blue as well. Whenever I see gold on cards, it seems like they have to be metallic.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
In regards to the blue Primo deck, do you prefer version 1 on the left or version 2 on the right?

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I like version 2 because it's more playable for me (traditional pip colors). Can we see the back?

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I agree- V2 is more playable. The blue accents on the queen are enough to compliment the back/theme.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
V2 is better. Now the big question is what them pips lookin' like? Standard is cool but something different or extra could be done.

I, likewise, favor the red pip/index version 2.
As it is... the blue lips, et al, make for a chilling effect.

Of the two, I agree that v2 is better, but I actually don't like the blue in the faces at all...I agree with rousselle, it looks chilling

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
Nice BackOfCard bleed... When your doing a full bleed back thats the stuff you have to consider. Just make sure your top left corner matches your bottom left and vicea versa. If not, after the shuffle you might have a full bleed nightmare...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I'm on the fence about the blue faces of the courts. Here is a possible solution.

Red hearts and diamonds.
Black clubs and spades. Can't go wrong with that.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I'd be curious to see silver instead of gold for the blue deck backs.

I went with a warm silver because I think it compliments the blue.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I've always had a soft spot for full bleed backs. That was an excellend suggestion by JazzVox to go with the silver and blue backs, definitely an improvement over the gold/blue version. I'd like to see a similar evolution of improvement for the tuck box as well. I think the current version of the tuck is a bit underwhelming. There is a solid back design and great court cards, the tuck should be elevated to match as well.

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
Love the new Blue & Silver look (great suggestion JazzVox )...just wondering if you could use silver on the faces and hands too as the red seems just a little out of place with the rest ( )

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
we can see where your suggestion is coming from. the minimalist design on the tuck is a direct homage to the designs of the era. we wanted to keep that feel without getting too carried away with adding detail, despite the fact that we have become known for our sense of detail. in this case, we're trying to remain as true as possible to our original design concept. it's a fine line to walk - but dave is working on a variation of the tuck with a little extra detail to see how it goes down on this thread.sinjin7 wrote:I've always had a soft spot for full bleed backs. as always, we love the feedback. it only helps us make the best deck possible.
