If they could do both decks in the same project that would be preferable for a lot of backers to avoid paying twice for shipping. ;)

As someone who has had to pay an exorbitant amount of money to USPS, I have to agree with this.

Why not have the second deck as a stretch goal, and then simply launch it in its own campaign if the stretch goal is not reached?

Love Edgy Bros decks but the funding goal seems a little high for one deck with gilded. Hope it funds, I would like to see the next deck with different courts.

I agree...I think that they should have started with the regular deck at a lower goal and make the gilded deck a stretch goal...needless to say, I am in for a gilded and added on some regular decks. :D

I was very excited for these but $14 for 1 deck? Sorry, can't justify it. I don't like how standard deck prices are creeping up there...

I really love this deck. Disappointed that it's USPCC. I'm only interested in the regular decks. I often get my decks shipped to a friend, but sometimes shipped to me overseas, depending on the price. However, this project went a little pear shaped.

$18,000 goal is a little steep, but there have been some crazy bad decks reach that. This is a really nice deck, but it seems the bubble has burst on Kickstarter. I assume Kardify will have some stats to back this up, as only a select few are funding, and the ones that are, other than the really big names, often go with someone other than USPCC because of price and the horrible registration issues.

International shipping is crazy, but this campaign, outright rip off at the lower levels.
1 deck = $11 + $12 shipping to me.
2 decks = $20 + $14 shipping to me.
4 decks = $38 + $18 shipping to me.

4 decks is what I was looking at..."luckily" These are getting shipping to a friend in America. I don't expect many international backers buying at the 1 deck tier...

I've decided that I really like these and I'm going for 4 decks, shipped to America, but I'm worried that the project won't reach the goal. I would have went with a lower goal, with regular decks ( non-USPCC :P ) with the guilded as a stretch goal.

I hope this campaign funds. Worst case scenario is that they sell the design to albinodragon and it goes the way of the Gorilla deck. That deck needs to somehow be made.

I became more of a foiled back guy instead of gilded decks but with this one, I'll do it. It's very acceptable.

just in case you guys didn't see the update for our campaign yesterday, we are shutting down royal house and relaunching tomorrow at noon pst/3pm est as royal house limited. same exact decks and designs and inks as well as a gilded version. but we're only doing a 1000 deck run and 300 gilded, and 850/250 will be available to backers. this way our funding goal will be $13k instead of $18k. hope to have your support!

Still seems like your goals are a bit high, I remember people used to do USPC decks with goals of $10,000 for 2500 decks. A $13,000 goal equals $10 per deck, I know USPC doesn't charge that much per deck.

Their blog explains why they don't sell decks for less than $10 though. Or anyone else for that matter unless they're a retailer.

Yeah, these guys have been pretty upfront with the financials behind their projects (and very generous to share those, I might add), so if they decide it's not worth it for them to try to launch this with a smaller minimum, I'm inclined to give them a very generous benefit of the doubt. While that might be a bit high in terms of scoring a quick victory, I'm sure it's a well reasoned goal with regard to staying solvent.

And as for me, I want Edgy Bros to stay solvent. :-)

you guys say it for us best - we've gone over the numbers on our blog post (which you can find earlier in this thread) and we'll be happy to continue to share our financials with backers, since they're the ones funding our campaigns. we set fundraising goals based on our best educated guess as to what our break even point is. any profit we make comes above that goal (after continued expenses and commissions) and in the after market. let's hope tuesday starts well!

I'll be back to pledge for a couple decks. Unfortunately I think it will be a tough ride again. As a backer, my decision comes down to average cost per deck, including shipping. With a second deck, it's an easier decision to move to 4 or 6 deck tiers and bring the average down. With one deck, I have to really like the deck to pledge for the lower tiers.

The problem with these 'only limited pledge levels' campaigns is there's no flexibility - combined with Kickstarter not handling pledging for multiple rewards, this results in us often not getting what we want (unless resorting to multiple accounts), and the campaign receiving less too.

For example, there is no way of getting 1 gilded deck and a few normal decks here. It takes my previous pledge of $94 down to $39 and relegates these to collection only status for me.

I agree. However, I'm lucky, as I got the same pledge as before, 4 regular decks. I'm not interested in the gilded stuff.
I hope this funds.

we understand the concern with the pledge tiers. we based the tiers on the level of pledges from the first launch, and therefore these were the most flexible tiers we could do. because it's such a limited campaign, there's no other way to run it and at some point we were going to run out of the gilded decks long before the regulars, and we had to offer far more of the regular decks. we simply couldn't find room for that particular pledge tier as our campaign numbers didn't show enough support for it. but someone always gets left as a result. believe me, we'd much prefer to be running a more traditional campaign, but we weren't getting enough backing. so, this is the best option that's left.

if there was any way to redo the pledge tiers, we'd do it. but at this point kickstarter kind of locks you in. we made out best guess and will have to live with it. if we discover a way around it (without depriving anyone of their current pledge) we'll do it.

just added two new pledge tiers by reconfiguring some lower tiers; you can now pledge for two rose decks plus a gilded and three rose decks plus a gilded. i'd jump on it - we only were able to create about thirty of them. thanks for the feedback!
