Then you're not thinking very hard.
USPCC, LPCC/EPCC and others make mistakes all the time -- but most of the time the creators don't share the stories with us.
Jackson is simply more open about some of the mistakes that he deals with than most other creators. Unfortunately, it does not amaze me that his openness is mistaken for something else entirely.
Many of the comments above reveal much about the commenter's character and nothing at all of Jackson's nature.

This is the second Jackson deck to have issues, starting to wonder how accidental these are since he seems to benefit from these "mistakes" the most hmmm
Can't think of one other creator with the same issues to his benefits.
It's an easy assumption to make, but I don't think any of the "benefits" of such issues outweigh the bad PR and frustration of his backers and customer base.
I'm actually very pleased with the number of issues I have had. 2 issues (this one being easily and cheaply fixed) spanned across over 30 decks in less than 3 years is pretty good for anybody who has done any 4 color print work.
That's why Jackson should give backers what they paid for and perhaps destroy the incorrect decks, otherwise it is no longer 200 or whatever gilded decks, which is what backers pledged for, not 400.
My other comment was not that other creators haven't had problems, just that they don't turn them into special editions.
I want a error deck just as much as the original! It adds character to the set... It is not a run of 400 at all! They are two completely different decks. They are only the same if you open them. Some folks may open the error deck to see the gilded cards that otherwise may never be handled. I don't mind paying Jackson for any extra shipping & handling or the cost of the deck itself. I do believe that the folks that are currently receiving gilded versions should have first dibs and it would be nice to have matching numbers. When I collect decks I like to have ALL of them. I don't want to show someone my collection and be like "there was also a deck that was created in error but I was unable to get it or it was destroyed... " If these aren't destroyed and you want a complete set it won't be complete without the error deck.

What is the difference between display deck and the limited edition then?? basically it is just the tuck case.
Does that change the fact it is still limited edition? No...
200 Gilded decks with the silver seal on Limited edition tuck case vs 200 gilded decks with display deck tuck case, again they are 2 different version isn't it?

This comes down to whether the tuck is an/the important part of the value of a deck, for which Collectors (especially if you don't open them) are going to have a differing opinion to just about anyone else.
As a collector, I look at my gilded deck from a display tuck and see that it's a different (collectible) item from an otherwise identical gilded deck from the full tuck. But others - who don't see the tuck as an important factor - will see that their '1 in 200' gilded deck is now a '1 in 400' gilded deck.
This is the problem with these items priced/valued by an artificial rarity - what is important depends on what you focus on.

I think this is sad that this is still going on. USPCC screwed up and Jackson, who is still paying for the decks/gilding, is trying to recover at least some of the costs. The tucks are very important when it come to collecting, at least for new/modern decks. Those 200 individuals that pledged for gilded decks, they'll have the original tuck that was designed for the gilded decks. For those that get the 200 misboxed gilded decks, they'll have a beautiful gilded deck in a plain display deck tuck with a gilded deck seal. It's not like Jackson said he was going to change the seals from XXX/200 to XXX/400.
I also was able to see the deck at the convention and it's another home run by Jackson.
I've almost got all the details worked out with Backerkit to run the special preorder for the 200 White Gilded Tallys.
I will be sending out an update soon, only to the backers who backed the Silver Edition decks with a direct link to White Gilded deck Backerkit page.
The White Gilded Tallys will be $6 Dom / $8 International and I will be able to ship them with your original pledge rewards. If there are any decks left after the initial wave of orders I will then offer what is left to the rest of the backers.
There will be a limit of 2 White gilded decks per backer.

Thats a great solution at a great price! You might actually see some gilded decks in the wild this time

I agree. This is an excellent solution. I'm sure they will be gone before quickly. Great thinking Jackson.
Jackson, I think you just shut up anyone saying you were doing this to price gouge or make a quick buck. Incredible gesture with the pricing on these.
Possible hiccup, I count a 125 backers with tiers that included a gilded Tally deck. Limiting it to 2 is helpful, but at that price point, I doubt any are going to be left unsold, leaving the chance that 25 backers won't get them even if they wanted. Don't know what you can really do about it, but just something to take into account.

Yep, I understand that and am 95% sure that not everyone will get them. Not really any way around it. I know that just offering one per backer is out so I will just try my best to give give ample "headsup" before opening the preorder to try and give everyone the same chance.
Must say I'm extremely pleased with a very fair & inexpensive solution to this problem.
I would also second receiving matching numbered decks if at all possible
In order for all backers of the Silver Edition to have a chance at purchasing the White Gilded, wouldn't it make sense to limit those that backed for one Silver Edition to only allow them to purchase one White Gilded?
A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

In my opinion, doing the doing the two deck limit is the best way to go b/c it almost ensures only those that pledged for the original will get them. No, I didn't pledge for the silver gilded.
Wondering if Kickstarter even supports an update for a specific set of users. This all sounds like a technical challenge. Or it's for 2pm Central Mongolia time.
