I have to admit that I like these. Limited edition of 1000 decks with 950 available on KS now...

I love playing cards that have an Olde Worlde elegance; so I'm in for a half-brick of these.

And since this is my third deck from Roman, I know they will be fulfilled beautifully!

These almost look too nice. I'm worried he can't get the coloring and detailed needed printed correctly.

Not bad, but there's some basic mistakes in there that break it for me. Huge indices in all corners, banner separaters on the courts etc.

Also, I have to say the back is kinda boring (without seeing a high def image of it).

I grabbed a single early bird, it's nice enough to add to the collection, just hope the printed cards match the artwork.

Pretty nice overall. Despite disliking the "band-aid" style of joining courts, it's a decent banner design at least. The text sure is terrible though. I think a blank banner would work best.

Have to agree with MagicFingerz. I think since he has the indices in all four corners his RankOfCard (K),(Q),(J) is to big. If he made it the same size as the suit it would look a lot better. He is an artist, I see. In the BackOfCard, he needs something in the corners for the fan. That looks like a Tesla experiment, so how about some lightning? That would be a quick fix... Love the Jokers.

This definitely needs a few things, a much cleaner and simpler back design, smaller pips, adjusting of some of the courts so it doesnt exceed the top of the card, new aces (because i cant make out what the ace is from the large pip in the middle).

Dear playing cards community
First of all I want to thank all of you for your support on KS and your advices.

Few words about back of cards: Artwork creator made it's initial design in the style of that century. However, now we have a couple more back design variants to consider. Here they are. We'd be happy to hear your opinions/suggestions.

Hi guys, new to the forum here but I wanted to address something. I was crawling through the comments on his kickstarter page conjures up the Sagulatus Deck that was printed in 2012? http://card-art.ru/product/sagulatus" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; His campaign states that "All artwork by Chesley Trem" and yet on the russian site http://www.21king.ru/en/museum/?deck=g03476" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It says Vyacheslav Yastremsky designed it. Is this even legal?

To make it clear for everyone:
Sagulatus was a souvenir-type deck, printed by local russian company
Branle - has improved graphics, quality casino paper with coating and classic tuck box. Made for collectors worldwide

Mr.Vyacheslav asked us not to put his original name on the box, but use pseudonym - Chelsey Trem (it is a part of his name - vyaCHESLAV yasTREMsky)

I'm going to have to vote for card back Number 2; so the card edges front and back will match while doing card tricks that include cards turned over in the deck won't "flash" a bright edge next to a darker back.

Received my deck today, along with Animagique. These were my first NPCC decks, that I can recall anyhow. I'm actually fairly impressed with the quality. It's not USPCC or even LPCC or EPCC, but it's not bad. The tuck is a bit plastic or latex feeling, but appears to simply be highly coated and not vinyl. The cards themselves would handle great for game play and general handling, but I'm not sure how cardists would react to them. I have zero skills so it may just be me, but they seem to clump a bit in fans. Still, as a collector or gameplay printer (or their contracted printer), I would buy again.

The final artwork and print turned out pretty well in my opinion. I'm glad I got a deck, although I wish it didn't have 'Branle' on every court card.

I agree with all that. I felt the quality of the Defunctorum decks was much more on par with USPC and others, in terms of stock and tuck and everything.

Roma was nice enough to send a sample deck of a new Branle Royal deck. Features a velvet tuckcase!

Crap, Now I have to remember USPCC, EPCC, LPCC, MPC, and NPCC. Is it Taiwan or China?

Edit: I pick #1. I always prefer a full bleed back, but your corners need something like in #5

To be honest, that velvet tuckcase looks downright gaudy and terrible.

It isn't the best pic and it is just a sample.

I am extremely glad I went in for a half-brick of these!

Not only did the cards and tuck cases reproduce beautifully, but there was a special aspect to these cards that no promo could tell me in advance; and it's one of the best things any card collector can hope for in card decks... Even my wife truly likes them!

She put on her reading glasses, got out her magnifier, and looked at every card in one deck, along with its tuck case under a bright full-spectrum light; and she declared the cards, "Beautiful!"

Everything about these cards, the artwork, incredible printing job, the cleanly cut edges, and the "air-cushion" type finish make these very special cards for my wife and me too!

What's really astounding is that they only collected $5563 on Kickstarter for the 700 decks they created; and they still produced and delivered these high-quality decks.

I have several decks now from Roman Kotiv (the Creator of these decks): Demon Deck, Defunctorum, Chess Cards, Several "Asylum" Decks, the Animagique Decks, these current Branle Decks, and I also have one of the Branle Royal sample decks too; and they have all been well worth the price, and comparable to much more expensive decks! And I'll be buying more like these in the future too!

Let's see if the following images in this post and the next one too can show some of the details that make them special:

Re: The Branle Royal Playing Cards by NoirArts (NPCC)

Unread post by WillHart CthulhuWho1 »

As a follow-up to the original Branle Playing Cards, NOIR Arts is bringing out an even more deluxe addition of the Branle decks, under the Royal Branle name.

jerichoholic has already shown a sample of this deck, including some great images, but I'll just add my exterior images to the collection, because I'm not going to be willing to open this deck until I have at-least one more in my collection!

So you're going to have to trust the details of the Royal Branle deck as described in the letter that Roman Kotiv included with my decks:

"A few things about Royal Branle:

--- Custom golden ink-printed card back design.
--- Velvet-touch special tuck box with embossing.
--- Hot foil stamped card box white cover with golden Branle logo.
--- It is going to be limited to 300 decks.
--- All decks will feature numbered seals (or custom text/name seals).

I'm looking forward to these, and any other future decks that Roman Kotiv produces; and I highly recommend that everyone who's missed out on any of the decks I've already mentioned, should try to add them all to your collection!

ps
My wife is also very fond of the new Animagique Playing Cards too!

joeblow,

Obviously I'm very impressed; and I think that everyone would have been more impressed here too from my pictures, if my scanner hadn't just died, leaving me to take free-hand photos with my old shaky hands.

Hell, I couldn't even find the "quick disconnect" top of my tripod so I could use it either!

I collect cards, and do a few tricks with them because doing so is fun; but it also helps when you really enjoy looking at the art of the cards too! And these cards don't disappoint the eyes!

And their quality is very surprising for their price too.

I'm ready for more like these.

New version of the Branle cards just launched on KS. Gold metallic ink, velvet tuck, looks nice. Also, very limited. Only 370 decks available on KS of a 400 deck run. I really like the art on my OG Branle deck, I'm in on these. (Backer #2)

It looks like they freed up some lower tiers by decreasing higher tier pledges, ~9 left of each of the 1 or 2 deck pledges as of 9:09AM EST.

Just got mine Royal Branle + Original Branle. That red velvet tuck is stunning! My vote for best tuck of 2016...Roman, I hope that you'll use that kind of tuck again someday, I love it.

Edit: Would it be possible to use any other types of fabric on the tucks...? I just thought of a deck series, where each deck would all have a different kind of fabric on the tuck box. That would be amazing, if possible. But anyways, I hope that this velvet tuck could become NPCC's own signature thing, that it is used again on future luxury decks.
