Ok I'm starting to like her again. But will she have the voice? That's the most important thing.

It does look good - having Wayne in Metropolis when the Zod fight happened totally makes the rivalry make sense. No idea how Wonder woman will work, but she looks good!

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
So many great trailers coming out of Comic Con. It's not available yet, but reading quotes from the Deadpool one gets me über-excited. It seems to have definitely earned its hard R rating. February can't come soon enough.
So let's see, we have:
Batman v Superman
Suicide Squad
Deadpool
Ant Man
Fantastic Four
X-Men something or other
Captain America
Bats vs Superman does look real good, other than Jesse Eisenberg. It's like you have all these grownup superheroes then you have a teenaged looking multi-millionaire super villain. Sorry, he just doesn't look the part at all. Also, still wondering how Khal Drogo, err, I mean, Aquaman, fits into it all.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Will be interesting to see if they make the origin tie in with Wolverine - from the trailer it looks like they are taking the actual comic book route though and retconning the previous movie...

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
There's still one big red flag for me and that's that they didn't have her voice for more than a few words. Ms. Quinzel has a VERY distinctive voice. Without it, the portrayal is nothing but a cheap imitation that is more at home on a convention floor than the big screen. Considering the changes made to Bane's voice post shooting, I'm sure they can tweak it if need be.CBJ wrote:Suicide Squad

That said though, seeing as how Margot Robbie is a NYR fan as well (not to mention my future wife), I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for being able to pull off the appropriate Brooklyn accent, but unfortunately I have my doubts.
Jared Leto looks awesome though, and I do think his performance will take the cake here. Not only because of his character, but because out of the whole cast he's the most talented (just don't let my fiance hear I said that).

Well I still have hope she will pull off the accent. She had a pretty heavy Noo Yawk one in Wolf of Wall Street.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Yep, she was quite, ummm... good, shall we say, in Wolf of Wallstreet. She has the talent and obviously the ability but it's never been said as to whether or not she will do Harley's higher pitched Brooklynesque voice. Everything I've read has been ambiguous about the subject. I'm sure she will, but it's just a major point IMO. Dead shot has his rifles, Cap has his boomerangs, Joker has his laugh and Harley has her voice. And big ass mofo of a sledge hammer.Eoghann wrote:Mistah Jayyy

IMO this is what they should have made Harley look like, but honestly I'll take what I can get.

No love for Ant-Man? I thought it was great fun. Wrote a review of it for my day job, if anyone's interesting in reading it: http://thepanicroom.com.sg/blog/ant-man/

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Not quite a comic/superhero movie, but did anyone catch Hitman ? One of the rare films flimed right here in Singapore, how did you find the scenery ?

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Have not seen Hitman yet, but I would like to. I enjoyed the previous iteration.
I'd also like to know if anyone saw the "Fantastic" Four movie? I was debating to watch it or not after all the bad reviews, but it has stopped running in the theaters already so the decision was made for me

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
Honestly wouldn't bother - I get the feeling there was a decent movie in there somewhere but it got destroyed in the cutting room. Much like the original DeareDevil (the directors cut of the Aflek one is actually ok)

Don't know which is sadder. That someone smoked that much pot and wrote that or that I read most of it.

Re: Comics and Superhero movies
About time someone put the smack down on Ironman and beat that smug smile from his face. That last clip of Bucky & Cap whooping his ass is enough to get me to go see it.
