Will this deck be marked? That was one thing I did not like about Aquila.

Hey all, thanks for all the kind words and support, we're almost at our goal. Currently sitting at 95%, please keep sharing the project with others and if you haven't taken a look at Viridian yet, take a peek and see if it appeals to you and pick up a deck or two. Let's see if we can spend the second half of the campaign chasing Carmine :D

FUNDED! Congratulations!! With 6 days left it definitely doesn't look like Carmine will be unlocked but I'm a little confused... Per the KS page:
This striking deck of cards is the sequel to Viridian and was planned to be released next year. As a Stretch Goal, $19,800 (~$14,500 USD) will allow us to bring Carmine exclusively to our backers early before the public release next year.
Does that mean this deck will eventually be created no matter what? Or only if it's unlocked during this campaign?

They will be funded later if not unlocked. (at least that's the way I read it)

Re: Viridian Playing Cards by Trikard - Now funding on KS

Unread post by Sparkz »

Sorry if that is a bit confusing. Our intention is to bring a new "House Deck" out once a year (a new color variation) , we were hoping to 1. Gauge how the "Brand" is received and 2. Kill two birds with one stone by offering Carmine as a stretch goal. So Carmine may be available straight from our shop, it may be another KS project on it's own next year....to soon to tell with Viridian still underway. The final funds raised from this campaign will also come into the equation for how we proceed with Carmine.

That being said, I want to thank all of our backers for their continued support, it's greatly appreciated.

Hope the Carmine edition is unlocked, like them more than the green, but that's not to say they're not quite good looking themselves.

Awwwwwww. Or .. Waahhhhhhh I guess is more appropriate. I wish we hit that stretch goal, the red is so sexy.

I typically downgrade if stretch goals aren't hit and went to the project page to decrease my pledge, but: the cards are beautiful - reasonable pricing, printed by LPCC, I'm keeping all in - this campaign deserves it.

I was on the fence with this one, definitely an appealing design. But at the end of the day I'm passing on this because its an LPCC produced deck. These Asian made decks were supposed to be significantly less expensive than the USPCC, but I'm not seeing that to be the case. While the overall design is nice, I'm let down by the tuck - no foiling, no embossing, no interior printing. But it's still about $11.00 USD per deck shipped, so not much value for the price without the bells and whistles that are now pretty standard for custom decks in this price range, especially compared to recent decks. And since its LPCC, we will have to wait for a really long time before they're produced, and then there's still the month long boat ride to the states once they're made (wasn't LPCC supposed to be faster as well?).

If this was made by the USPCC with the blinged out tucks we're accustomed to seeing now, I'd probably be in for a brick. But as others have already mentioned, there's so many ultra high quality, well-designed decks out, or coming out, that the competition is fierce and we're being more selective so that even a deck as nice as this one is barely meeting their funding goal.

I can't really argue with any of your comments sinjin, but the LPCC/EPCC vs USPC comparison really boils down to print runs. When and if USPC ever gets their minimum down to at least 1000, LPCC and EPCC is just a better option to get around having to print 2500 decks. You kind of have to pick your poison, higher costs because your printing a lot of decks, or higher cost because you don't want to print a lot of decks, lol.

We were just looking for a change of pace here, to stay away from those $20 decks, or LE's etc.......is $11.00 shipped too expensive for a custom deck, I don't know, each person needs to decide that for themselves. Contraband is a completely custom deck and it's $8.00 plus shipping and they printed a boat load, but their a company and we're little guys, lol.

In the end, we just put out what we defined as a quality product at a fair price, if it strikes your fancy and your feeling it, great, if not, that's ok too. We're not looking to retire here, but if it barley funds or goes through the roof, all we want is for the people who backed us and supported us to be happy with the end result when it's in their hands.

If we achieve that, we were successful ;)

Well said. That is all anyone can ask for. It either appeals to you and the cost is justified in your mind... Or it doesn't. Only each person individually can make that decision.
