Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP)
I'm really interested to see how much this KS makes. Between the game being one of the most successful campaigns on KS raking in close to $3 million worth of pledges and Jackson's overall appeal, this one could be big. We all saw how well The Name of the King did and I don't think that deck looks as good as this one based on what I've seen so far.

Tuck image from instagram;
So, foil backs, is this USPCC printed? (they obvioulsy have been trialling it...) Or is Jackson branching out a bit here?chach wrote:"Wasteland playing cards Desert Ranger Edition. With gold foil backs. ..."

Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP)
I'll run it through my image mapping and enhancement algorithm. I might be able to get a reflection off the table if I tilt the Y-Axis to reveal the bottom of the tuck bitmap.
But my informant says the odds of being USPCC are 1000/1.

Definitely looking forward to this! Never played the game, but it interests me in trying it out. And the fact that this deck will be printed by EPCC makes me jump for joy

Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP)
I know I'm a bit out of touch when it comes to gaming, but I've never heard of this game.
EVEN SO, this deck looks like a must have. That is the thing about good art; it transcends the subject. (I picked up Jackson's Sherlock Holmes decks for the same reason; I'm not particularly a fan of Holmes, but Jackson's interpretation is truly well done.)
Mona Lisa was probably a really dull person at parties, and yet Leonardo's rendition of her smile has had quite some staying power....
Besides... foil! Om nom nom....

You should think of having a tier that comes with the games, like a Steam or GOG credit for it, for the card fans that haven't played the games before.

That is a great idea and something I am already working on with Brian Fargo and the InXile team. We are just trying to work out the logistics.chach wrote:You should think of having a tier that comes with the games, like a Steam or GOG credit for it, for the card fans that haven't played the games before.

Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP)
From what I've seen and read so far, distribution of digital media is much more difficult than a physical item. Many unforeseen limitations. Republique comes to mind, the mobile game. Republique promised every backer a digital download of the game but the App Store doesn't allow the generation of that vast amount of codes. So they only fulfilled a handful of backers. To try to appease the angry backers, they let the game be free and the rest of the chapters for a ridiculously low amount ($1 I believe) for a short window and kept the news for backers only.chach wrote:You should think of having a tier that comes with the games, like a Steam or GOG credit for it, for the card fans that haven't played the games before.
As it happens, word got out and everyone jumped on the freebie, causing them to bleed out on potential funds. And now they're struggling to complete the following chapters. It was pretty bad.
It's considerably easier to deal with physical copies of games rather than digital downloads.
But if Jackson and inXile can find away to do that properly, I'm all for it.

Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP)
Thought this might be interesting, this was a post apocalyptic character I designed years ago. His name was Tugsy. He has a skateboard and on it, was the first appearance of the future Kings Wild logo.

Had no idea you were previously ensconced in the games industry, Jackson. Hope that might mean that we'll see more game related stuff from KW.

The balance of colors and shades in these designs is stellar. Can't wait to see them printed and in my hands.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

I'm just loving the simplicity of Jackson's latest projects. Straight and to the point. Hope it becomes a habit coz my heart can't handle super duper limited tiers anymore.
And the uncut prices! Brooooooo

Have to admit, I'm kind of glad to see there's no uber-limited secret squirrel deck for once. Well, namely my wallet is glad. But I'm in like Flynn on these. And yeah, the uncut prices... THANK YOU!!
I think I just may play the game a bit now since I'm at the computer and all...

Re: Wasteland - Desert Ranger Edition (KWP) now live on KS
So... why is it that the bigger the tier, the higher the cost per deck?
It costs more per deck to buy 4 of each than to buy 2 of each. Thus, if I happened to have a second account on KS, it would be cheaper for me to buy two of the 2-of-each tiers than to buy one of the 4-of-each tiers.
It would also save me $24 if I bought one brick of the LE and then added a brick of the ranger edition than to back the tier that has one brick of each.
I'm curious as to the thought process behind this pricing.
