Hmm makes you wonder if there's a way to compare the ratio between successful and non-successful US playing card KS campaigns and successful and non-successful Australian campaigns. As an example, let's say there have been 100 KS campaigns that launched in the US and 75 funded, then the success rate is obviously 75%. If 50 launched in Australia and only 20 funded, the success rate would only be 40%. If the percents were that far off, Collector would have a valid point.Collector wrote: I can suppose the following train of thought: New playing card project. - “$”, ok (it isn’t necessary that all will pay attention to that “AUD”-s). - And what the final goal of the project? - What!? $45.000?! At the same time, backers have some right for that train of thought. Creators should be also a little bit wise and understand appropriate problem. For example, I give you my money to help with your commercial project. Why the hell I should search currency calculators to be able to figure out the real amount of money I have to pay for your decks. You need me more than I need you. It’s clear that the waste majority of Kickstarter backers are US customers. Appropriate explanation in the test of the campaign could be useful.

Re: Classic Playing Cards - Now live on KS
Mario, these look really good, but I fear that you set the goal for funding much too high for a first-time kickstarter.com project. That's going to discourage some people, unfortunately. With a $22-$25,000 goal I think it would fund, but I pledged for it and broke the ice in the comments section.
I'll toss you into the Deck Artist group also. Good luck!

It's also cheaper to pledge on the (2) single EB for 1 of each deck then the EB for 2 decks

Kinda like the deck but it's a bit too ambiguous for me to overcome the extreme shipping fees. I mean that the backs and the fronts and the tuck all imply different centuries to me, so I'm not sure what era "classic" refers to.

Thanks a lot for showing interest and supporting our project.dazzleguts wrote:Well, $17 AUD for shipping to Canada is very high. Why not use the good shipping system KS has now that will let you charge for specific locations? That would help.
As per your suggestions we have slashed the shipping rates for "$12.00 tier" by almost half. However to take the benefit of the new shipping rates you might have to cancel your existing pledge (strictly for $12.00 tier) and pledge new rewards(with the same $12.00 tier) with the new reduced shipping charges.
In addition to that, we have also introduced shipping charges for our Canadian backers.
Apologise for the inconvenience but we are sure you would enjoy the new revised shipping rates!
Appreciate you suggestions and support.
Thanks

@vasta41, unfortunately, I don't understand you here. My comment was about an additional table withtin the text of the campaign with appropriate culculations. Do you remember Stockholm17's viking money?vasta41 wrote:Hmm makes you wonder if there's a way to compare the ratio between successful and non-successful US playing card KS campaigns and successful and non-successful Australian campaigns. I mean something like this:
"Dear backers, our project is launched in Australia, so it demands Australian dollars. Please, note this. As you know, there are such things as currency exchange rates. Australian dollars aren't equal to US dollars or other dollars. We can't propose all rates, but we understand that there are a lof of backers from US on Kickstarter. So, we have made a comparison table for them to show the difference. We used .... source for our calculations. [date]: $1 AUD = $n (US dollars)"
Table:
$45000 AUD = $x
1 deck (including shipping): $17 AUD = $y
etc

Yea saw that as well, but honestly your frames around the courts make them puny, makes the entire card look miniature.

Blunt honesty incoming: I'm not surprised at all that these aren't doing well. They're pretty boring. Again, this deck would probably fare much better a few years ago when the amount/quality/innovation of decks on KS was lower.

Have to agree with this. God knows there have been enough decks made with Bicycles on themCollector wrote:IMHO:
“Classic Royal Playing Cards” could have more sense. Without all those bicycles which don’t have anything common with appropriate royals. Some monarchical symbol instead of the bicycle could be much better.
Anyway, good luck.

This is why frames are a bad idea on playing cards, they take away from the actual artwork.volantangel wrote:Yea saw that as well, but honestly your frames around the courts make them puny, makes the entire card look miniature.

Re: Classic Playing Cards - Now live on KS
I have to agree with Mike, I think the goal is way too high. Very few projects reach that kind of money, especially lately. I'm not even sure how they came up with that goal, is it a random figure? Couldn't be based on USPCC rates for 2 decks.

We do understand that our goals are at higher end but that's the minimum number that we have to achieve to make this project feasible for us.
It is a tough goal but its not impossible goal. With you all on our side I think we can easily touch down on our goal.
Till now you all have been amazingly supportive. Hope more friends are going to join in to help us sail through.

Re: Classic Playing Cards - Now live on KS
I think all complaints about these decks are moot as it will most likely not fund. I'd like to see this project canceled, tweaked a bit using many of the suggestions here, a lower goal and relaunched. I really like *most* of this deck and I think with some revisions more people will like it too.

Re: Classic Playing Cards - Now live on KS
Per a recent KS update this project is canceled:
Its heartbreaking but we have decided to cancel our current projectBut the good news is we are aiming at a RELAUNCH!!!
Everybody loved the look of this new classic but were a little discouraged by the high end goal. So we are going to come back with new goal + unbelievable Add-Ons (the display unit that we are putting together for this deck is crazyyyy).
Our relaunch is going to be based on all the valuable inputs and suggestions you guys made.
Two decks with high end goal made us cancel this project and so the next time we will come back with one deck and a very fair goal.
Hope you all are going to be around when the CLASSIC comes back one more time.
Thanks for all your support and patience. This was quiet a journey(even though it was a short one).
With love and respect!

Re: Classic Playing Cards - Now live on KS
I think that'll be a mistake. If you can't fund with just the deck alone, don't add a bunch of fluff items to reach your goal. It'll cause more problems in the end.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.
