Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; launching soon!
Though the indices/corner pips are consistent, the pips are not because they look the same in every suit which could be hard to distinguish during play. Other than that for now, I don't know what else. Too early in the morning over here.

I like these a lot, they look fun to play with!
I would be okay with the pips being similar in style as long as the corner pips were distinct and "claimed the suit". Currently the club and spade corner pips have a very similar look.

One thing that could be misleading is the term "holographic ink". It's not really holographic though, right? It's a clear glossy ink as far as I understand it.

True, holographic is a buzzword people love to use. Thus is prismatic or refractive, for sure, but no holographic, which implies that there is some 3D type properties.Eoghann wrote:One thing that could be misleading is the term "holographic ink". Fud, I tossed you into the Deck Artist group, nice looking project! Enjoy your stay. LPCC is doing some truly nice and innovative stuff, and this certainly is different.

The back design is pretty boring IMO, and an actual fan (full-deck cardistry fan) will look nothing like what is pictured (which is using only 17 cards). You'll only see a small part of the spades pip, and maybe the very tip of the diamond if you're lucky.

Thanks for the comments. If this deck funds, I will change the design to incorporate those suggestions for a subsequent design. However, this one is so close to complete I am going to continue with it as-is.

Fud, are you part of Misery Dev. Ltd that are making the Black Market Playing Cards on KS at the moment? The reason I ask is that your courts seems to be the exact same as theirs.

No, were not with them. I based my courts on a custom stock court set, which looks to be the same thing as they have done.shermjack wrote:Fud, are you part of Misery Dev. Fud - It looks like your Hearts and Clubs are over sized in the indices. That is a good thing. Love the way you have the QoS have a scepter and flower. Attention to detail. This is somewhat traditional. Your rays from the items make a border which breaks the rules of not having a border, but you make it work anyways.

I like these a lot. I didn't make it in time to be the first level early-bird backer, but with the pledge I did, I'll have extras for gifts. Nice job! Good luck with the campaign!

Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER!
Hi Guys,
Unfortunately Prism: Night playing cards looks to have stalled out around 40% with less than half the time left for funding. I'm fairly certain this won't fund this time around, and would like to know from the experienced people what the best way forward would be?
From my perspective it looks like the decks were priced a bit high and the goal was too high. My preference would be to cancel funding now, adjust a few things, lower the price slightly and the goal substantially, and relaunch in a few days. Would this be a good move, or would waiting until it doesn't fund at the full period be best?
Any advice would be helpful here
Thanks

This was a tough one for me. I really like the design but the per deck cost was just too high for me. I hope you'll try again. Good luck.

Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER!
Hi everyone,
I am sad to say that I will be cancelling funding for the Prism: Night campaign short of the project dead line. The reasons for this are mainly because I feel that I have set the project goal too high, and the price per deck was just out of some backer’s reach. That being said, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported this project; it really means a lot to me that over 200 people think this project is worth funding! Thank you!
The good news!
During the last few weeks we have been analyzing the project; looking for ways to make it cheaper and more affordable, and I am glad to say that those labors have paid off! Through negotiations with Legends Playing Cards we have been able to drop the price per deck, making it more affordable for everyone! As a result, we will be RELAUNCHING this project soon – Saturday the 20th of June to be exact, with a lower project goal that I am confident that we can meet!
The most common concern about the cards was that they were too expensive per deck – a concern I fully understand. Unfortunately, the reason why there are no other playing card project like this is because adding another layer of special ink across every card face is not cheap. The original project prices included less margin than a ‘regular’ $11 Kickstarter deck, so with the new reduced pricing… well, let’s just say make sure to get them now because you won’t see them this cheap again! These cards are very hard to make work; technically, financially and production wise – so you are guaranteed a very unique product that is unlikely to have anything like it!
Not only have we been able to drop the price of the decks and the overall project funding goal, but we will now be including standard seals to all decks for free! The numbered seals will still be an unlockable stretch goal, but now you get that awesome elephant head on every deck you pledge for!
Finally, you may have noticed that several reviews were published about Prism: Night playing cards throughout the campaign. There are another few more lined up to be released soon and a video deck review by the great Victor Jose coming as well. We will also include a video showcasing these incredible cards and answering some of the more commonly asked questions about them.
In conclusion…
We still have every confidence in this project and are confident that with our incredible backers and adjusted campaign we will be able to successfully fund Prism: Night playing cards and get them our into the world where they belong! I hope you share my excitement for this unique deck, because the finished product will be awesome!
If you would like to stay up to date with the progress and how things are going with the relaunch, we will be posting updates on our social media accounts. We will also be holding regular competitions via Facebook and Twitter with free deck giveaways, so make to visit and follow us to be in with a chance to win!
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project so far. This isn’t over, see you very soon!

Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER!
I am sad to see this campaign cancelled, but glad it will be relaunched. I realize I'm new at collecting cards, but this (to me) is one of the most beautiful decks I've seen. I'd rather have one of these than two or three decks of some others out there that get all the hype, have people slobbering all over them, and go for three or four times the price. (I won't name names so as to not offend anyone or get myself blacklisted.)
Good luck with the revitalized KS attempt.

Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; NOW LIVE ON KICKSTARTER!
From a recent KS update:
I gotta say, I was unsure if I would back this again but that Day deck looks cool! A Night and Day deck together would look sweet in my collection so I'm in.
The relaunch is Sat. June 20th. Can a mod please adjust the title? Thanks in advance! It's a little over 1 week until Prism: Night relaunches, and I have THREE really exciting things to tell you!
First, after jumping through some hurdles, I have managed to drop not just the price of the base deck, but also the shipping too!
Second, I am really excited to announce that we will be lowering the stretch goal of Prism: Day to a very affordable level, making it a limited print run, AND giving everyone the opportunity to secure their copies of it right from the start! I will be setting up the rewards tiers so that you can select 2, 4, 6 or 12 decks, and if Prism: Day is unlocked, they will automatically get split into half Day, half Night. You won't be able to add Prism: Day to your pledge and these rewards will be limited (as it's a limited print run), so make sure to get in fast to secure your deck! Each card will be a unique as the Prism: night, with full face gloss printing and a sweet 2-way back:
THIRD, I'm working on a special past-backer promo, where everyone who has backed the original campaign (and who backs this one) will get free decks! I'm still fine tuning the numbers and how it will work but stay tuned, because I've got free decks, competitions, giveaways and promos coming out of my ears here! I guarantee that as a returned backer to an Elephant Playing Cards project, you will be well looked after
I gotta say, I was unsure if I would back this again but that Day deck looks cool! A Night and Day deck together would look sweet in my collection so I'm in.

Re: PRISM: Night playing cards; Relaunch June 20th
Hi Guys,
I made a short video showing what the Prism: Night playing cards look like in real life. One of the hardest things in this project was to capture what they really look like in a picture, so this video has done a good job solving that problem. The only issue is that the colors have turned out a bit dull
Either way, head over the the EPC facebook page to check it out! It might tempt you to pick up a sneaky brick of the Day/Night combo next Saturday
