Duel Playing Cards - Produced by Vanda now funding on KS

I've been following this artist for a bit, inquiring about the cool deck design she made. She recently got back to me that she has partnered with Vanda and they will be producing this deck! Sweeet!

Glad to see you've created a thread for this already.

I'm happy to report that we'll be producing both red and blue versions of the deck and they will be available as a set with a special 2-deck box. (Edit: I just realized that flyers already posted this info)

What comes to mind for me is a movie scene where someone walks up to an adversary, slaps him in the face with his glove, and says "I challenge you to a duel!"

I'm actually not sure what Joelle's intention was behind the correlation of the deck name and the artistic style/theme, but I'll look into it and get back to you.

Ditto. I guess I was expecting some sort of fighting element in the design. It's cute and it's always interesting to know the thoughts behind the design.

Was meaning to ask that as well when I saw Vanda promoting the purple deck. Really want these.

Nothing new yet...this deck is one of the next two that I'll be releasing after the Vanda Violet Edition deck goes on sale tomorrow.
Things are a bit crazy for me at the moment so I'm trying to pace myself to make sure I can keep up with any new projects.

I'm happy to announce that Duel will be the next deck launched by Vanda and will be funded on Kickstarter. The initial funding goal will be for the red version of the deck, with the blue deck production as a stretch goal. We're working some other cool stretch goal rewards and I'll post more info soon.

At this point I'm waiting for a couple prototypes related to this project, but I'm expecting to launch by end of August.

Originally I had planned to print this deck and sell directly on the Vanda website, but we are excited about the potential for a few of the stretch rewards that Kickstarter might enable us to get produced.
