Ha! I just posted this too. Beat me by a few seconds. Great minds honk alike, I'll go delete my thread.

It's based on a video game franchise IIRC, so I figure it'll be pulling in people outside the card industry. Interested to see more for sure.

Looks like this deck is based off of the Wasteland video games. The first one was released years ago and the sequel was Kickstarter'd and released last year and is awesome.

Haven't played those games. A Fallout deck would be awesome though, the latest of which (Fallout 4) was just announced earlier today.

I actually really like the Fallout decks that are already out there. One was included as part of the New Vegas collector's edition. It's a weird deck because though it has all the cards you'd expect from a regular deck, there are different backs, each representing the different casinos in the game which I really like. The faces have drawings of different things in the game. The other deck is the Vault boy deck which has face cards that resemble the cartoony vault boy. These were given away as promo items at conventions etc.

If you like the Fallout games you'll enjoy Wasteland 2.

Yes! YES! YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS! Fallout New Vegas is one of my favorite games of all time and actually the reason I got into cards. This is fricking AMAZING AS A BATMAN RIDING A LASER T-REX!

Now if someone, somewhere will just print the Gomorrah, Ultra-Luxe and The Tops cards as they are in the game. And then redesign the Lucky 38 cards and releasing them as limited edition. And if the Sierra Madre deck is released redesigned, but with the same back as in the game someday I am going to piss honey...
Left my heart in SIERRA MADRE

"Finding it... that's not the hard part. It's letting go."

"One makes a trip by day, but by night one sets out on a journey." -Moominmamma

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a penguin. Have you ever met a sad person with a penguin?

That is a nice BackOfCard. Look how he tests the corners. I beat the game Wasteland 2. It's a good turn based game. Fallout sounds like another animal with a bunch of legal copyright crap. Randy recently had some fun with some legal crap...

These two statements contradict each other to me. Turn-based? Yuck

But let me officially apologize for steering the thread off course. I like that back.

Wasteland 2 is an OTS type game, think Starcraft / Starcraft 2 / Command & Conqueresque Solo campaign rather than multiplayer type game. The world of Wasteland and the creator of it heavily influenced the Fallout series.

In any case, looking forward to seeing more of the deck, but while I fully trust Jackson's capabilities I'd kinda prefer that he wait until the Army, Emerald Tally Ho, and Hive 2 decks, let alone the lithographs I bought from the Instagram moving sale, ship before launching another deck. But then again there's not much he can do once the artwork has been submitted but wait on the printers so why not get as many projects in the queue as possible eh?

I'm starting to dread seeing 'Edition' on the end of descriptions of new stuff from Jackson/KWP.
  • Edition[n] (Kings Wild Project): Not are you going to spend waaay too much on this, but there is more wallet pain in your future for an indeterminate period.

Nah, it's not a KWP thing. Every deck nowadays has a companion. Or two. Or seven.

Tints of colours don't fit the theme. They are more for cyberpunk.
