Club 808 New Decks 5/19/2015 - Limited/ Foil

Club 808 members have a chance to purchase some limited edition decks. They have released a few prototypes and then some limited editions. When I was trying to order some the page was extremely glittchy and slow.

821 Rider Back Foil Prototype Deck’s available in Red, Blue, Green and Silver. Limit of 2 of each colour.

arrrrggh stop it you guys with the temptation.. Most importantly is that new espionnage deck is amazing and it's a very low print run so i ended rejoining and buying a few of them and threw in a Rider Blue Foil prototype for good measure

Alright. I just got off the phone with USPCC.. I wanted clarification on the Espionage decks.

there were only 1300 prototype Bicycle Espionage decks produced, and they are not making any more. And, this will not be a full production deck down the road. The full production deck was released a year ago with the vertical Bicycle logo. They also told me that if I wanted any of these, or the foil prototype Rider Back deck to act fast because they are selling surprisingly quick.

Also, the reason it has a "5000 Made" seal is because it's still being released to Club808 members only... and this is the only seal they have that has the club808 logo. They will not be producing the other 3700 decks.

Edit: Never mind my previous request about PM'ing me the code. I called them up and took care of the order by the phone. A 20% discount for something shiny makes this not such a bad deal, as far as I'm concerned. I'll also note that the Ace of Spades on the Espionage deck looks startlingly like a medical diagram of... oh, never mind. But, I am surprised that it made it past review.

I picked up a set as well and I have to say I'm impressed. They feel and handle just like regular Rider Back playing cards. The foil is not stiff at all. The blue foil deck I received seemed to have a ton of cards with the foil artwork bleeding all over the place. I'm not sure if it's just the deck I received in particular or if the blue foil batch is more difficult to produce.

All the colors are stunning however. The silver foil makes for a great shiner in a poker game . Overall I believe the process of foiling the back of the USPCC playing cards is much different than that of the EPCC decks we've seen in the past year with foil. EPCC decks are hot stamped I believe where the USPCC decks don't appear to go through that same process (no stamp lines). That being said...the EPCC decks with foil stamping seem to achieve a higher level of detail in foiled artwork.

I'm curious to see more decks from both USPCC & EPCC with foil integrated into the back and front designs. Opens up so much more potential for designers, illustrators, performers and of course...cardists.

I concur with CC that the handling is the same as any other premium bicycle deck. And the foil really, really pops.

I did not notice any issues with the blue foil being particularly bleedy, for what it's worth.

I want to see more. These decks are, in a word, shiny.

How is the registration ? Are there large difference between the cards ?

I only ordered a green foil deck and the Espionage deck, but I can attest that mine have no issues with the registration. Not sure how that will play out across all the decks that were printed but mine are fine.

The cards handle exactly like a regular deck of rider backs. There is no difference at all that I can tell other than that wonderful shiny green back.


Did I tell you I like shiny things?
