Bicycle is hinting at a Craft Beer Card set, I am really interested in this as I am starting the process of growing hops. This somehow made me think of that one deck with a guy holding some type of guitar/music instrument. It was supposed to be a Bicycle release, it's a thread about it. Well I'm not a beer drinker but wonder how this will go.

it would be cool to see the different ingredients to be the pips. I could totally see the hops making a club formation, and then possibly the grains for the diamonds, ect. And I agree, that I hope they dont slap some beer images or whatnot onto a standard deck.

I'm hoping that in their search of the archives they came across an old back that has all the brewery related imagery, but that's probably wishful thinking as it'll probably end up being something like the Luchadore deck.

That said, seeing as how they're posting this in such public forms as Facebook and Twitter leads me to believe it will be a wide release rather than Club 808 only, which is a good thing.

What goes together like beer and playing cards? How about contests and prizes?

Bicycle® Playing Cards is using its nationwide reach to spread the word about craft breweries across the country. From now until August 29, we’re accepting submissions from brewers across the United States. Your brewery’s logo, info, and flagship beer could be featured in an upcoming craft brewery deck. This deck would be for sale atshopbicyclecards.com and at retailers across the country.





Want to enter? Here’s the official business:

Between August 12 and August 29, 2014 send us an email at bicyclecraftbeer@gmail.com containing the following:

Your brewery’s name and logo.The city and state where people can find your brewery.Some general information about your brewery, like your flagship beer.Anything else you think we might like to see.

The winning breweries will be notified by September 8.

We encourage all breweries to like us on Facebook and direct your fans to do the same. We’ll post about this contest periodically, and just might check the comments to see who gets the most love. Popularity won’t be a deciding factor, but it certainly won’t hurt!

Ugh, I HATE these facebook contests. Just a pathetic way for them to get more followers and getting people, and in this case breweries, to do their dirty work and spam their friends.

That said, I would still LOVE to see this deck. Just having popular logos slapped on the the deck is what I feared. Odds are not very good to have your favorites show up on them with thousands to chose from, but I suppose that depends on how many apply.

That is simply terrible, why not look at some of the best beer packaging out there and take a leaf out of their books ? This is just bad, it looks more mayan inspired than anything

Considering they're asking for artwork submissions from different microbreweries I don't think this is a final draft in any shape or form.

Well, it's a cheap deck meant to be played with and as a craft beer fan with a number of my favorite breweries in it I'll need to get a deck or two just for that reason. I'm considering an uncut for the bar area (if I can find the wall space). Is that available through 808 and how much? I let my membership slip because they were getting well stupid with their decks and benefits.

I do agree they could have done a better job than a simple logo paste though. It is also disappointing that they went with non-red for the hearts/diamonds as a number of people I play with get really thrown off by that in fast paced games.
