Re: Is fanning powder needed for Virts SS15 deck?

Unread post by schfifty5 »

dleiber wrote:I just received my order of the new SS15 deck by the Virts and was wondering if it needs fanning powder first or should I be able to do fans out of the box? (I'm a total newbie at fanning, so it's probably me, but I was very surprised that I could fan better with several other decks (e.g., White Ghost, Archangels, Shadow Masters, and even standard Bikes) I have than with these.)

Regardless of being new to this, I was thinking my fans would look the same or better with "better" decks, so I'm perplexed.
Mine fan better than Bicycles and other stuff I have, got a 52 card fan out of the box :D The cards do feel a bit stiffer/sharper, feels like they have a different coating or stock?

Got mine this Wednesday.

They were hold back by customs. Had to play an additional fee to receive the package.

I got my shipping notice after I received the deck. Not the first time that happened.

Still nothing for me. Been over 3 weeks now. I know they had a lot of orders but it seems like a long time. I'll give it a few more days otherwise I'll chase it up with them. Haven't had any shipping notice either. Really looking forward to getting these. I've got the previous 2 virts decks so can't lair to compare them all.

Waiting for mine as well.....no shipping notice - could have easily ordered from a german retailer and would be holding them in my hands now.

I received seven emails on the same day that my order had shipped. A week after they had been delivered.

I still haven't received my decks yet. I ordered them within 1 hour of them going on sale.
I know things can take a while but wanted to get in touch with the virts to let them know. Unfortunately I have sent them 2 emails with no reply.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with them about my order?

Me neither....only this long apologizing email which basically said the same as their previous.
Next time i will go for the reseller here in germany. He has his cards since the launch day and i would have paid the same when buying from hin instead of the Virts.

Absolutely right, I decided to order from them just because I would like to show them my support, but will not do the same in the future, will go for an european reseller for sure, can't understand how they can hold the shipping for this long.... The only thing that cames to my mind is that in a greedy move they sold more than what they had, and now we have to wait for the next print run....

I cancelled my order. There's so many decks out there, they have no value and they are printing more decks.

I agree. I think they sold more than they had printed and we are waiting on the second run. This to me is not acceptable if it's the case. The apologetic email just didn't quite feel right. They noticed a defect in the box so are getting these replaced with uspcc. Hmmm!! More like they are waiting on the second batch to come through. What was th defect with the box? If they noticed it on there lot of 144 decks from there personal stash, how many more that had already been sent out had this defective box? I smell bull shit! What really pisses me off is that I ordered within 2 hours of these being for sale. Surely my order would of been near the top of the queue. The virts have always been good with there customer services in my previous experiences. The his has not been a good experience this time going though. Very dissapointed. Come on virts. Give it to us straight. I'd have a lot more respect than reading the excuses email.

They responded pretty quickly to my emails. With that said, I had an unusual issue that they were just going to ignore and keep my money. They weren't even willing to review it.

This is the reply I got from them.

"The tracking number that you received recently is because our shipping guy has already had the labels printed and the data entered into the system, and we're just waiting for the actual cards so we can send them out (there's been a delay; I've attached Huron's recent e-mail for reference. The moment we get them and the cards leave our facility, your shipment status will start to update."

So I agree with you that they sold more than what they have and we have to wait for the second batch. I'm pretty sure I ordered within the first few hours.

Yup, was looking through their instagram pages and huron low told someone that they (the fulfillment company) had a huge volume of orders to send out. I'm pretty sure it does not take 6 weeks to send out all orders, especially when people (my friends) who ordered a free deck after a WEEK got it 3 weeks ago.

They obviously don't have their priorities right.

Well I am hoping they do something to compensate for this monumental fail. Saying if you cancel your order you won't be entitled to the free deck is not them looking after customers who have been waiting for too long without being told the truth.
I will say though, they are a decent set of people and I am sure they will do something

Got this mail yesterday
Hey guys! It's Kevin from The Virts.

Lately a lot of you have been messaging us about your cards, and as the person in charge of customer support I've been doing my best to answer you all. However, the problem with being just one guy is that it's taken me a lot longer to reply to some of you, and with over 300 e-mails left to go I feel that it was probably best if I sent out a batch e-mail so I could address your questions about your order progress all at once.

So! If you're receiving this e-mail, then it means that your order was shipped out this past weekend (May 14-16), and is on its way to you now.

Your tracking number will be sent to you soon since we have to process them manually. In the meantime, some of you will have received your cards already, so if you get an e-mail from us with your tracking number after your cards have arrived, then don't worry about it :)

Hope that answers your questions so far! I'm going to go back to perusing your emails for any additional issues that you might need attending to. In the meantime, thanks again for your incredible patience, and do keep on a lookout for your tracking number coming from us soon.

Cheers,
-Kevin
