Farbschemata - live on KS
Another new deck just launched today. Nothing very worthwhile launched today imo. This is a relaunch of sorts of a previous Helvetica deck from Mark Allender, this time printed by MPC.

Re: Farbschemata - live on KS
I thought this could possible work. The Club and Spade look dissimilar, but the the bottom of the Heart and Diamond look to similar.

Re: Farbschemata - live on KS
I really love typography but I think the wording is clashing in this instance, big chunky arrangements of lettering can look really nice but nothing has its own space on the samples I can see here, the elements are positioned just so that the context disappears off the canvas. If that makes sense.

markallender - Make the diamond curve inward at the bottom and have the Heart curve outward at the bottom. That seems to be the quick fix. Make the diamond anorexic and heart fat. If you do that you have a functional deck.
I noticed your rank of card is in small caps. That is really different. Usually, the rank is in capital letters. Very bold...

Re: Farbschemata - live on KS
markallender - 2nd look. Your under the "Art" category. Yes, you have an art deck and it's unusual, but I would suggest putting it under "Playing Cards" I could not even find you under "Art" There is a sea of art projects and you are lost.
I like the fact you have a stretch goal going to "Air-Linen" That paper is stock is so new I don't think anyone has produced a deck with it yet from the MPC. I know it's only about $500 more from "Linen" or .50 per deck.
I think you can squeeze the rank of the card a bit more in the top corner. Start with the ten card. It's the hardest because it's the only card that has 2 symbols a "1" and "0" for the rank. If you can make that look good, everything else will fall into place especially since you are using lower case for the the courts. What that does is it makes more room for the lower part of the suit. You can then move the suit slightly up a bit. That is what people need to look at to determine what the suit is when holding them in their hand.
I find it fascinating some people will put a border or incase the indices in a corner badge forcing the indices to move toward the center of the card. That is what we don't want. Your indices are unique, but I like them. Basically, you have the rank of the card and suit indicator all rolled into one and the main thing is you can distinguish what the suit is if the card is laid down on the table. A lot of decks now a days have the indices, but no suit indicator. You can't tell what the suit is at a distance especially if you have custom courts.
Don't expect to sell a bunch of these decks. Art decks are a hard sell, but you do have something functional and special.

markallender - Why Not. It looks like you can't go any future into no mans land. 10 card looks good. Can't say that looks like a fat heart, but I did see an anorexic Dimond. So people will probably distinguish the two suits if they had them in their hand. Looks like you have something special.

markallender - You can do that also, but now instead of special. It's basically, typical, but you are still a art deck with non-traditional courts.
