With shipping anywhere you have to add 8$ more, so 1 deck 16$.vasta41 wrote:Hmm not bad for $8 per deck with shipping to anywhere AND printed by USPCC.
he didnt do the mathvasta41 wrote:Hmm not bad for $8 per deck with shipping to anywhere AND printed by USPCC.
jerichoholic wrote:Jarek told me its $5200 to produce 2500 decks so like $2 each, if that is true then a lot of creators are really overcharging people. Btw he didn't figure any shipping costs into his costs.
I'm using $15 for USA and south asia and $17 for rest of the world for my Love is a Smoke. Sure I'm not going to buy a Lear jet for this project, but I think that everyone do not rely only on the 1 deck tier... am I wrong?Encarded wrote:So let's do maths together. At $8 + $8 shipping internationally, that means that 1 deck is $16 to an overseas buyer.
To produce that deck will probably be roughly $4, and shipping it will cost about $12. So my calculator says that's $16.
Now I'm not the keenest business man in the world, but that does not seem like a good business model. He'll make a few bucks here and there on the small US packages but there are fees, taxes, custom artwork charges, etc etc and I'd wager that this will end up in a "negative profit" situation when all is said and done.
Exploding Kittens hahahahahahjerichoholic wrote:And the best part he thinks he's going to get 5000 backers, ha! What playing card project has come anywhere close to that?
15.000 decks is a huge number, I never ever asked for such quotes.Stockholm17 wrote:jerichoholic wrote:Jarek told me its $5200 to produce 2500 decks so like $2 each, if that is true then a lot of creators are really overcharging people. Btw he didn't figure any shipping costs into his costs.
not as USPCC or EPCC, or LPCC.
oh wait, for $2 only if he prints at least 15.000 decks.
maybe at MPC you can have it for $2.

Will he? Like you said 5K is a lot of backers for a deck of cards.
If he did get 15K decks he'll probably flog them off at magic shows/conventions or something.
jerichoholic wrote:Well that is the quote he was given for 2500 decks, 2 dollars and change each plus a few other charges which doesn't amount to much
Cbkimble wrote:Maybe he accidentally asked for a quote for 25k decks.
I bet he bought those followersStockholm17 wrote:Aussie888 wrote:5K is a lot of backers, but if he can convince 0.85% of his youtube subscribers he'll get it.

I think that youtube is the less active "social network" ever.
659.502 followers:
8% watches his videos (average)
0,0792 % backed the previous campaign (quite the same deck)
He might have a plan, but $2 for 2500 units at uspcc is impossible.
Good Luck!

Hellohhh backers! Long time since the last update. I had to re-format the artwork on every single card for both decks as well as create an emboss-Illustrator file for the tuck case. Long story short—the contract has finally been signed and I am now waiting for the USPCC to sign their end of the contract in the next few days. Once that's happened, I'll be sending them the payment to get the cards made and shipped to me. I'll give you all another detailed update once I send over the money to them.
