I hadn't even heard of Candle Pin until recently, but I have a lot of great memories at the standard 10 Pin alleys. My three younger brothers and I were on Leagues for many years when I was a kid. My parents have Bowled on Friday night Leagues as far back as I can remember, and they still do. Some of our childhood Vacations revolved around Bowling. The only reason we travelled down to Disneyworld one year was because my parents were in a Bowling tournament in Orlando!
During and shortly after College, I would rarely Bowl. In the beginning of 2000, my ex-wife and I decided to divorce. I took a gamble and decided to move across the country - partly to accept a job at a San Francisco Ad Agency, and partly to get far away from Toledo, Ohio (such an awful city)! Besides a few co-workers, I didn't know anyone in the Bay Area for the first year. I decided to join a Bowling League on a whim. The League was called "Reno Bound" (the Black Deck's Six of Hearts!) because everyone would caravan up to Reno, NV for a weekend, at the end of each Bowling season. It was a blast! Bowling actually helped me get past a very tough time in my life.
Jump forward many years later, my wife, Susan, and I moved to Indianapolis to start a family in the Midwest. Our kids are now 5 and 7, and they love Bowling! We go Bowling at least once every couple months or so. My daughter has already asked if she can Bowl on a League when she gets a little older. It's also amazing how many kids Birthday Parties are held at Bowling Alleys around here!
We even went Cosmic Bowling a couple months ago. Hopefully that excursion will come in handy later in the Bowl-A-Rama campaign!
I gotta say this is a theme I wouldn't normally go for and thought it still was interesting, but the number card pips in bowling pin configurations are selling me. Well done! I'll have to pick one up for sure.
I'm just going to go straight for the top. Keeps it easy on my end since, I have no lightening speed interwebz. Maybe one of them will be left haha. The pledge tiers are great though, and I really like the price on these.
I have a feeling it will be very exciting campaign.
TL:DR It's completely up to you. We can still be friends. I actually like playing cards. We live in interesting times.
Sparks have you seen the cosmic lane version ? I have and it looks incredible, i might have to go out to buy that one item that ive been saying im gonna get...
Went crazy trying to grab the EB split brick since I accidentally pledged for the one with the pin. Good thing I got to change my pledge. Was thinking that the EB split brick would sell out in seconds.
I'm in the one of everything early bird. Funny how the images on my screen are to size. I actually took a tape measure to it and the wooden nickels and pin are dead on.
Started with the early 2 pair. I was gonna wait to see if any were left.when i get up at 5 but i decided to go ahead and grab the early 2 pair + pin. Wonder if Randy would be able to sign them.
I'm also contemplating grabbing an uncut( would love both but no). Which would be better to grab?
I'm really surprised that the early birds didn't go faster. I actually grabbed two different ones (one with a pin and one without) because I thought one of them wouldn't go through! Since they did, I'll see if one of my collector friends in my facebook groups or someone here who didn't get one, wants the second one. I hope it picks up. Good luck Randy!
