Re: Orbit deck - live on KS
Custom courts are abnormal so dont you come hating about why there wasnt customization at all, He reallyyyy wanted to customise the courts, but it was for the greater good, so go back this $16 deck that is absolutely thought through with no customisation y'all!!!!

Re: Orbit deck - live on KS
Going against my own grain, I kinda like what's going on with the back. Though I wish the tiny man were larger and more noticeable. Just a tiny bit bigger.
I understand the need to keep the courts standard since his main intention is magic and sleight of hand, but a recolor in blue tones would be very welcome on this deck.

I agree with you on all points. I find I'm liking the card back too.Eoghann wrote:Going against my own grain, I kinda like what's going on with the back. Though I wish the tiny man were larger and more noticeable. Just a tiny bit bigger.

TL:DR It's completely up to you.

I like the back and the tiny man but even if I can't fan for s***, it would have been better if the back design made fanning a bit more awesome. I admire him wanting really thin borders though.

Re: Orbit deck - live on KS
There is some great potential for this deck however I think in terms of building the Kickstarter campaign, it was rushed. I normally try to stray away from anything negative, but if the video was supposed to help sell me on the deck, it has a long way to go. And why is the first image I see of any back design the Arrco's?
Just some constructive criticism, ditch the video and replace with a graphic. Let the artwork sell the cards, not the flourishes or the kids. Or just re-make a video, include the flourishes but also a heartfelt introduction of who you are (the creator) and why you're doing this project and why you need the support of the Kickstarter community to make it happen. Just give us a reason to trust donating money to the campaign. Are you selling card tricks/flourishes or playing cards? Nobody is backing the project because of what you or your friends can do with a deck of Arrco's...or Orbits.
Lose the graphic below...the fanned cards in the middle of the back design is confusing and serves no purpose being there when you have the fanned image directly below:
Any foils or embossing on the tuck box?
Any stretch goals?
I'd also take out any mention of buying camera equipment with the remaining money...
"If you're wondering where the money will go, most of it will go into printing and distributing. The left over will be going towards more camera equipment, overall improvement to the site, and beyond....For many years I performed magic for free, so even if I make just enough to print the decks and pay for distribution, I'll be content."
So is $10,000 what you need to produce and distribute playing cards...or produce/distribute playing cards AND buy camera equipment? Just sounds like you have a hidden agenda...either to pay for camera equipment or make up for doing free gigs.

Damn, was not expecting that. Nice to make a quick grand by selling 10 decks of cards.

I know you will be shocked to hear this, but even though I was there right on time and got it in my cart I did not manage to check out before the angry mob ripped it from my hands.

Looks like Gandalf is getting a little grey in the tooth. Might be time for some Crest Whitestrips, might catch the next one.

Yup - used to be I could snatch a deck with a series of mouse clicks and key taps that all seemed to fall at the same time in a superposition of collecting zeal…. Now the young whipersnappers are faster snapping whips and I can only hope to out strategize - thus I am selling my house, buying an RV, and camping outside manufacturing facilities and warehouses for the foreseeable future.

Re: Orbit V1 by Chris Brown
Staying up late is bad, but it’s those early morning 4am to 5am japan auction close times that burn me the most often. Set the alarm and wake up five minutes before the auction closes, then have to decide how hard to fight for this or that when I can barely remember my own name…

Re: Orbit V1 by Chris Brown
That instantly took me back to the two times I did this at 4am. One was an auction for Arabesque Silver (Netherlands). The other was to join Jack Brutus Penny's Patreon (Japan). I had put an alarm right before each one. Both had me feeling wired until I completed the tasks at hand. Drifting off to sleep? There was no drifting here. More like a crashing into my bed.GandalfPC wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 11:56 pm Staying up late is bad, but it’s those early morning 4am to 5am japan auction close times that burn me the most often. I was right there with you for the early morning JBP - though I had the benefit of one hours worth of time zone
