Are you asking because your are curious, because this wouldn't be the ideal forum for it....OR are you asking here because it's related to v2 and you plan to make it adapt to other collections as a semi-open source release and allow others to install elsewhere or even be inclusive for other items in the current or future single installation???

To answer the question though, I thought we had a thread on this already, but I think it was at PCF. Which by the way was interesting because it also asked what other hobbies people had. Anyhow, I have a 1/43 scale car collection which has been neglected since we moved 5 years ago. It's all still in a box waiting for the room and in wall display to be built. I guess I also collect board games, but it's more out of desire for new games to play than for the sake of a collection. It's just that at some point you realize you have a problem and calling it a collection makes it ok somehow. I also collect custom pint beer glasses, but also include other styles too. The traditional pint is actually a horrible design for drinking most beers out of, so they actually don't get used often and are more decor, but the others I'll break out for Euro-style match the beer to the glass drinking sessions. :D I used to collect automotive license plates too, but that was mostly for decor in garage in the old house and since I never managed to figure out a new display method in new garage that stalled/died.

I have a google spreadsheet that I use to track these things, just so when I'm out and see something I don't accidentally buy something I already have. Within that list I also have links to my cloud based collection inventories (PCDB, BGG, and others for movies, concerts attended, etc).

Playing cards are all I have room for. The house is full of art supplies since we can't currently afford to have a separate studio space.

Being in the arts we have a lot of art on the walls, not just our own but other peoples' work as well, including a few masks by various indiginous peoples. It can be difficult to have enough wall space though so the cards are a nice compact way to have a lot of interesting art and graphics.

As a side result of picking up old card decks I have a shelf stuffed full of items that are related but are not playing cards. I posted some of them to a thread in the General section and called it "Pasteboard Relatives".

Jase made a great posting too, but was the only other member to post to it. I think the thread could be restarted as "what else do you collect" - might get more response.

I collect masks, keychains and statues/action figures/toys. Used to have tons of rock and roll posters. And a small coin collection but my sister used some of them to buy stuff. Specifically the 50 states quarters and the golden/silver dollars. [MURRAY] I still have most of it but kinda waned off it.

I collected keychains when I was a child during trips and also got into the US quarter thing when they first came out and still have mine in a cardboard book designed to hold them, but it's rotting in our safe right now. I suppose I should pickup a wall display holder for them instead or just cash them in. For those not in the US or familiar, they created a new coin for each US state about 10 years ago and released them over a few years in the order they became states.

I collect tokens and chips used in the various casinos of Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Image

These are from a sale on ebay and are chips used in the grand casino for roulette from the 1930s up to the 50's. in all there are 15 different designs, and 9 different colours, and I have all but 13 of them.

I have plenty of others too, but I like these so much I mounted them in a huge frame - I'll see if I can get a decent pic over the weekend...

Because if you're going to do something stupid like gamble, you may as well do it with class!

I've built up quite the coin collection, and I used to collect comic books.

Almost all of the coins are from various deck campaigns, and would be a great addition to the pcdb

Pressed pennies are great. I only have a handful because I recently started that but whenever I see a machine I have to get one. :)

I like the pressed pennies too.
My old studio backed onto a railway line and I used to put pennies on the track to press them. I have a little box full of those. A few of them I etched images into, to make tiny printing plates, but I never got around to printing them before I moved away from that big printing press. Would be cool to also try printing from the machine pressed pennies.

I love pressed pennies, but gave the half-dozen or so that I had collected to a young nephew years ago. As for other collections, though, I collect golf balls, dolphins (not live ones, though that would be awesome if I had an aquatic resort), Smurfs, and silver art (e.g., the one-ounce rounds and bars like on http://www.silverartcollector.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Before the Internet, I collected foreign language versions of "The Little Prince" and actually read the ones in English, French, and Italian, and stumbled through the Latin, Dutch, Spanish, and German ones. (Once the Internet was accessible to the masses, it was easier to get these, so the thrill of the chase wore off. Most of the ones I did get, I got in the various countries I visited.)

I collect limited edition art prints and lithos. It's actually how I got into playing cards because many projects offer prints as part of their campaigns. I also have a pretty large graphic novel collection from when I used to work as an editor for a comic book publisher. Also, sci-fi ray guns, lord of the rings helmets and many other Weta Workshop stuff.
