Now we're starting some crazy talk - and Kai - that's been done or tried, anyway.

This is no joke! I sure hope all the real designers are reading! We could start a wildfire...

With the star icon on this thread and your "far beyond" comment, does this have something to do with outer space, Mike? A deck forged by moon rocks or something?

Observant and good correlation, but was unintended.

I'm probably being set-up by the government, I should be careful, eh? Gotta be GCHQ or something.

OK, to keep us on track, just to be clear, nobody is expecting 52 unique pieces of gold or silver, like the 14th century single decks, but I want more.

To keep you dogs under control, I can't answer every question one for one, but somebody came within a few miles a day or two ago.

Sorry for the double post, but I have just been told that there IS a bounty, a deck or two, I suppose. "Closest to the hole"... (closest two?)

The culprit as I noted before has been in here but not ready to comment yet. I suspect that can't last long, we're about 8-9 days from project launch on KS.

Guys & gals - I have taunted you with clues, let me make an overt instead of hidden one: what if the tuck, on top of what I already described - left a tear in your eye?

I suspect that the artist will decide when and where to end the mystery! Last clue: I have been told that the decks will be the Emporor's cut - or not.

"Left a tear in my eye" must obviously refer to some sort of retina-destroying new compound used for the tuck case.

Well, how about a hand drawn deck, with foil on the face and back and gilded edges, for the tuck I would go for rigid velvet (??) with gold foil or gold stamp on it.....

Darn! All great ideas, and we are listening - and taking notes, but nothing within range, yet.

A few of these are starting to fall in the "could be done, but not marketable" due to sheer costs. Keep the aim at or under $100

Hmms, I'm going to say they'll be in a Slipcase not a tuck, probably made from Pleather because that's gotta be better for a slipcase than leather, not as grabby. Sealed with wax impregnated with diamond chips and string woven from the fur of some rare Siberian weasel raised by a kid who thinks it's a cat and calls it Meow Meow. Maybe holographic foil courts so the queens can blush and the kings can wink. All in a luxurious manner of course. No gilding on these though, it'll have colored glue so there will be a thin colored line in the center of the sides of the cards themselves. Perfect for those, Wow these are luxurious, moments.

That's my guess. Probably spot on. Shame about Meow Meow though, it's cold up there. Poor lil thing.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.
We can still be friends.

Nothing says luxury like something made out of the skin of dead animals and sworn enemies.

One hint Mike: is it old school luxury or new school? Coz a 3D printed tuck would be pretty kickass.

@Eoghann Lasting, as opposed to new-fangled. I loved me some hold 3D seals and stuff, but let's go with enduring, as opposed to new.

Uusi has done things like old-world gilding. My search for optimal papers for Chromografix lead me to conclude 340gsm was optimal for a new standard of quality decks, and 350+ was just too cardboard feeling for me and several others. Luxurious cards demand 330 or better, we've seen that done already.
