My wife will soon be launching our Military deck on KS. This is a rework of my first version of Global Unrest.

I like it! Reminiscent of the defunct Army Men deck. And also the Americana deck, one of my favorites for artwork, especially with the courts. Great job, RJ!! Can't wait for more.

I immediately thought of the army deck as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the deck

Finally an Army deck! I still wish Hounders funded. For this deck, brown pips for spades/clubs and green pips for hearts/diamonds would be nice. Any other colors than the standard red and black could be experimented.

My wife and I would like to see Hounders get funded one day too. Maybe we'll relaunch down the road. For this deck, we wanted to do something to pay tribute to my grandfather that just passed away last month. He was a Marine... but the Marine colors don't work well with a deck like this so we decided to use army colors. We're still debating whether or not to use red hearts and diamonds or just go green.

On 2nd thought, if that 1st card is representative, you have a camo-green background, you don't want green pips for anything unless they stand out. Stick with black and red pips in that case. If you change the background to black or white, then you could have green pips.

Yeah, I pledged for Hounders, but I'd prefer people to dogs. The Founders design is online, I wonder if someone reputable could use them? If the thief that stole our money actually dared raise his head from wherever he's hiding to sue you for infringement, nab him!

Here's the tuck case cover... at least the first draft.
For Founders, I think our next attempt will be to use people but we'll make the design more our own this time around.

So is this a ww1 themed? Maybe a helmet in the middle of the star turned at an angle.

No the white star and circle is a WWII to symbol but that's why it's grudged. It's a rebirth of an alliance. It's general Military style deck but without the licensing I can't use the US Army, Marines, etc. symbols and names.

Yes, the helmets are modern. Once again, this isn't a WWII or WWI deck. This is a modern deck. I just happen to be using a symbol that represents the allied forces. This is the rebirth of an old alliance facing a new evil.
It's also not meant to be too time specific either. It's to honor all military men and women no matter when they served their time.

We're just debating what's better... including the shipping price into the overall price or break it out so everyone can see what shipping costs. For example, if we had the deck itself at $8 and US shipping at $3 or just have $11 for the deck with "free shipping" for US backers? Either way it equals the same just not sure what sounds better.

I'd go with $3 shipping. Reasonable shipping and reasonable deck price.

What happened to $8 + $3 or $11. I'm seeing $10 + $6 for the black deck and $12 + $6 for the regular deck. The 4 decks for $44 is a good deal, until you add in $15 shipping in the US? Don't know where these prices came from, but I'm out. Too bad, as I was really looking forward to these. $6 to ship 1 deck, $10 for 2 and $15 for 4. Better recheck your numbers.

Update: Shipping was supposed to be free for US - according to Robert's wife on KS. As soon as they get it straightened out, I'll be in on these. Glad to see they're responding quickly.

Me and following direction don't go together too good. I thought it was moving slowly and then I was told via a comment about the shipping goof. oops... I might of killed our chances right out of the gate. It's all fixed now. Hopefully I didn't frighten too many people away. lol

Way to fix it quickly Robert! I hope others weren't turned off. I made my comment earlier hoping that it was just a mistake. I suspected it was when I noticed the shipping costs were the same to everywhere.

If some mod can update the 1st post, since these are now live -

I think the back design could be better, but then, I've always been a fan of more intricate backs. That and $12 for a deck instead of $9 or 10 has me taking a wait and see approach right now. A more interesting back design, something special on the number cards, and/or a sale price/special for 1 deck may get me off the fence...

I'm guessing that paying extra for the dog tags get them customized to the backer - not "costumized" as in the KS graphic?

I'm not convinced of the need for dog tags in a costume... :-)

This almost scared the crap out of me. I was just getting ready to post a whole bunch of smear until I saw it was fixed. So on the contrary, awesome prices and great project! I really hope these get funded (not counting my chickens before they hatch this time after the last 2 Army decks I've pledged for never made it to my front door... but I know RJ will do it right ;) :ugdance: )!

I wish I didn't mess up the shipping. I think it screwed up our chances of getting this funded. I think I frightened too many people away. I agree the back design is weak... so I'll revisit it to see what I can do to make it better.

You might also consider showing more cards. We don't yet know what the aces, the number cards, or the jokers look like. How customized will they be? Each person might well be asking "will they appeal to me?", and waiting to pledge until they know the answer.
