I just saw on eBay that 5 have sold as buy-it-now for $55+ almost instantly.

Re: 1000 Red Gatorbacks 250 signed. Black Friday
I had one guy ask me if I would be willing to sell him a brick for $500. I buy decks to open and use as well as collect, and since I only got a brick to begin with, I'm not going to make that deal with him. I got these in today as well. Once the initial fevor for these decks die down a bit, I'm going to guess the going rate for these should be in the $40 - $50 range. I kind of feel sorry for those people who bought BIN decks for hundreds of dollars. I'm going to crack one open now and handle them for a while and I'll let you know if they are any different from the green or black ones.dazzleguts wrote:Great little experiment sinjin. Have you had anyone try to jump the Q by sending an offer?sinjin7 wrote:OK, I'm going to test the waters to see what these are actually worth on the secondary market. I posted an eBay auction for one deck starting at $1.00 with NO RESERVE. This should give us a better idea of what (sane) people are willing to pay for this deck. There's no way these should be worth over $100.00, much less almost $400.00 like that other ridiculous auction. I guess I'll find out by Sunday.

Re: 1000 Red Gatorbacks 250 signed. Black Friday
Ok, here are my first impression thoughts on the Red Gatorbacks, and I'll go point by point from David Blaine's description of these decks from his website.
Sparing no expense, the cards themselves are printed on the highest quality casino stock that USPC has to offer.
True, these Red GBs are printed on casino-grade Bee stock, so you have robust thickness of stock, great snap, and great expected durability. But guess what? The Green Gatorbacks are also printed on casino-grade Bee stock. Stacked side by side, they are identical in thickness.
Undergoing multiple trials in order to achieve the highest quality and durability in the Gatorbacks series, the Reds feel like no other metallics have ever felt before.
I don't know about this. The Green GBs feel just like the Red GBs to me. As previously mentioned, same stock, and both have an excellent Air Cushion/Magic finish, so they both handle very smoothly and evenly. Maybe over a longer period of time, I will notice some handling differences between the greens and the reds, but fresh out of the box, the Red GBs feel identical to the Green GBs.
The embossing pressure, printing press type, and direction of cut were also carefully chosen by David.
Ok, so here is where I thought we might see a tangible difference between the decks. Blaine carefully chose the direction of the cut. The Green GBs were not traditionally cut (to my disappointment) so they faro back-to-front. Surely these Red GBs are traditionally cut then. Nope. Same as the greens.
The Metallic Red Gatorbacks are the finest playing cards created by David Blaine to date.
Again, since these feel and handle just like the green version, at best the Red GBs are tied for being the finest playing cards created by Blaine. Of course, terms like 'finest' and 'best' are subjective, and don't get me wrong, these are extremely fine decks, but in my humble opinion, the finest decks from Blaine are the Split Spades (especially the original Tally Ho version).
Designed by David Blaine and Mark Stutzman for performance and style, they are a true collector’s item and are destined to be sought after for years to come.
Well, this will probably be true, but with a production run of 1000 decks, these aren't even remotely close to being David Blaine's rarest or most collectable decks. Those would be the Ultraviolet White Lion deck and the Red Series A White Lion deck.
So what are the differences between the Red and Green GB decks aside from the obvious color and print run differences? The main difference is that the green version comes with a blank gaff card, while the red version has this strange card featuring a demonic-looking person instead of a blank gaff. My Red GB brick came with a Certificate of Authenticity whereas my Green GB brick did not. Also, the red on the backs look a bit more metallic than the green. That's it, folks. Enjoy the picture.

Re: 1000 Red Gatorbacks 250 signed. Black Friday
I was able to get the green decks and sold quite a few for cost here. I then got less of the black, but I did get them. However, these were all gone before I even knew they were out. I have resigned myself to just give up on decks that go up in price the way these have. I've missed out on many before and I don't miss them now. I'll just buy the decks I can get for a reasonable price.

Re: 1000 Red Gatorbacks 250 signed. Black Friday
I have three auctions going right now, two for individual Red backs, one ending late tonight the other in a few days. I started both at 99 cents with no reserve. Only difference between the two is the end time, and I'm interested in what the difference in the final price will be for those two auctions, it'll be neat to see how a few days affects people's attitudes towards the cards.
The other auction is for a complete set of red, black and green. Right now all three auctions are sitting around $50.

Hoohoo I see my shipments of Reds were delivered to my house today. Now if I could only get out of work early! Gonna have to take off tomorrow also so I can fondle them like Bill Clinton did to Monica. Did everyone else get theirs in yet?

haha, I love the happiness there. Naa, I didn't get to get in on any of the Reds myself. Good stuff though, let us know if you do the happy dance when you have package in hand. Love the excitement.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.

Yep! Mine came in the mail today. I was only able to get my hands on one because it wouldn't let me add any more, so I'll never know what the cards look/feel like in real life, but the box looks darn neat, thats for sure.Lord Nikon wrote:Hoohoo I see my shipments of Reds were delivered to my house today. My Red Gatorbacks finally arrived today! I feel like I must have had the last order to be shipped or something
I didn't realize the black ink on the faces was going to be metallic too, must have missed that somewhere.
Anyway, I have a few available for sale now that I have them. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Ya wrote them 3 times once before good Friday, nothing, once after good Friday, nothing, then wrote them the day they sold out, asking why they haven't responded and I was disappointed with the customer service, They said "sorry ......sold out in 17 minutes....... and whats your address". so I think they might send me a free deck not sure still waiting, like why would they ask for my address.Mike Ratledge wrote:Darn: if you got a response, that's a first for their customer service!ryansworld4 wrote:I wrote to there customer service that day because I missed out, they told me they sold out in 17 minutes, lucky you got a deck, I was working arggghh lolBladeRunner1024 wrote:Does anyone know how fast these sold out?

Kai should be a lens for hire. A talentless hack such as myself has plenty of good ideas but lacks the skills to make them a reality. That's where Kai would come in.
