So, the Heritage theme... The Heritage theme... Could it be a tribute to our artistic heritage? The byzantine art form, the Renaissance, and the Baroque etc?
Sometimes the easiest answers are the right ones? I'm going with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China:_Th ... _an_Empire" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Lotrek wrote:The decks in the series will have different themes but all will have something in common, justifying them being a trilogy. Some guesses are close, some aren't, Not very helpful, eh?
So, how about a little contest? I believe that all clues are in the first post of this thread. Who guesses first the exact theme of the deck will get a pair for free. Mike, you're disqualified from the beginning!![]()

I was thinking The same thing... But he said the first post had the clues. Which rebirth and heritage could be the clues. I printed out the icons graphic and was looking at it from ever direction to look for clues.Jock1971 wrote:My head hurts![]()
One last stab at it. The series is reworkings of old standard courts from different countries (Heritage Series)
The King looks familiar (De La Rue) so the first deck is from The British empire c.1880`s
That would be awesome!!volantangel wrote:Well how about the Portuguese Empire? =D
MMM...i went down the ICONIC routerjtomlinson1977 wrote: I was thinking The same thing... But he said the first post had the clues. Which rebirth and heritage could be the clues. I printed out the icons graphic and was looking at it from ever direction to look for clues.
See, aren't you glad I didn't start another SWTWC?Eoghann wrote:How we doin so far, Lotrek? Hotter or colder?
But but i think lotrek said he wasnt doing anything greek this time around i think ?Cbkimble wrote:How about I slightly branch off and go with the Greek empire.
Pretty close. The Heritage theme is about great artistic traditions that influenced European art or flourished in Europe. The common element will be the "standard" courts, interpreted in those artistic styles.Marcus wrote: So, the Heritage theme... The Heritage theme... Could it be a tribute to our artistic heritage? Looks fantastic...except the writing where the big pip is supposed to be.Lotrek wrote:And the winner is.... ROUSSELLE!![]()
Although Eoghann was very close, Rousselle was the first to use the wort "Byzantine" and his description of what Byzantine Empire was, is very accurate.
Since the release of the deck is still a bit far, I think that Rousselle and those who guessed very close won't object in me sending them now a signed print of the King of Clubs.
I think the lettering would work down the sides where you put the extra club currently and you could still have a nice big pip! Best of both worlds?Lotrek wrote:Thanks Chach![]()
That lettering is a very typical characteristic of Byzantine art. They used to write the name of the saint on the left or right side of the head and I see it more as a graphic element and I don't really care if it's easily read. I like it a lot and I'll be sorry if I have to drop it.
