Could I recommend removing the deck name and website from the left joker? I feel it takes away from the design and the info is already present on the other one. Is it possible to work in a reveal in that spot instead?

Its defiantly something I would consider if its something that others would prefer. What sort of reveal are you thinking of?

Player point of view: We must be able to differentiate the major and minor jokers instantly... not in 2 seconds, instantly. The two parts of the diptych jokers must be more different. This can be done simply by changing the color (red?) of one "joker" indice. Or by a reveal instead of the website on one joker.

It might be difficult to do a reveal since it is a diptych though and someone could notice that now the ravens are on the right instead of on the left. Still something is bugging me about it though :/

I agree the name and website don't add anything to the design. I guess the ad cards (if available) could reproduce the jokers with a reveal?

A reveal across 2 sets of diptychs would be a unique feature I think.

Good news! EPCC have got back to me and a quote is now moving forward. they are extremely busy at the moment which is good to see as it shows they are growing.

I've had a quick look at the Jokers, the half black and half red are shockingly bad, and the ones with just the text "Joker" on them seem a little bland, so I think I'll be going with the second one. Its only subtle with the text being red but I think it'll be enough to keep me happy haha but I still appreciate your honest opinions.

I might be in the minority here, but I found this one to be surprisingly nice. This gets my vote.

I wouldn't be against it. There's certainly a tribal, ritualistic feel to it with one side of the face painted in blood... WITHOUT the face it might not work so well.

If you choose NOT to go with separate colors, I'd prefer the one with joker indices rather than just the word "joker" in the middle.

If you DO choose to go with separate colors, I think maybe a slightly darker red would work better.

I like the first, maybe have the twelve courts facing the rising witch at the bottom watching her appear?

Hey guy

Thanks for the continued interest in the deck, really means a lot.

I am now a married man, the honeymoon has been and gone, and I'm finally back to speed. A little bit of an oversight on my side of things trying to organise this deck and a wedding at the same time...lets just say I like it stressful!

So in the form of an update, I'll be going with EPCC for printing, I'm in the final stages of arrange my fulfilment company and I'm still struggling with a tuck box design. Once that is sorted I'm good to go.

With the tuck box I'll be printing on the inside a massive amount of crows that will hopefully look like a murder of crows trying to escape the box once you take the cards out. But the outside is proving more difficult. Its going to feature the back design for one side and then . . . Leave it with me, I'll bounce some ideas with you guys once I have a basic design I don't want to wipe my back side with!

But in the meantime I have the trailer for the deck for you guys to check out, let me know what you think, is it too much?

Too much? Yes, but I love it. :-) Excellent job on the cards and the trailer. The swarm of ravens and the music are perfect. The part where they appear to smash into the ground and make the form of the witch (or whatever) was really the only part I would change. Seemed awkward like they were going too fast and suicidal and building a tower. slower and forming head down might be better. Minor point though.

I too am really looking forward to it and glad you're still at it. Congrats on the wedded bliss too!

@52Ravens - Rememeber you need a Red (Major) and Black (Minior) Joker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joker_(playing_card)

You could just make "Joker" on the top left red and that would be good enough to distinguish the two.

Sprouts, honestly nobody cares about the red and black joker, so long as the jokers are distinguishable, and even if they are identical its not a big deal.

I liked your video :D good job. I would disagree with volantangel, I think the ravens stacking up to the witch looks good imho. it just brings the epicness of the video. Also I agree with sprouts, make one of the jokers red as it matches your theme. You have red courts and then you have dark brown courts. It would make perfect sense that you have one red joker and one dark brown joker. I am not fond of your back design, I prefer the old one, the black one over your white one. The black one just looks evilish and is full of mystery, I would keep the black one. If you make it black you win my pledge :)

Hey guys, regarding the Jokers, they are wrong in the video and I'll amend that, but the jokers will be the same colour but the text will be red on one. Even though the red is the same red used on the hearts and diamonds in a large area its too red, so I don't really want to tone it down and move away from my colour palette.

Below are are box designs, the cover is proving to be a bit of bitch but I'm liking the 4th one, let me know what you think or if you have any ideas. The last one shows the inside.

I feel that #3 is the best out of the four, it gives a cleaner look as compared to #4

I agree it looks cleaner, but the raven(s) being white just doesn't look right.

Agree, I like #4, but the #2/3 do look cleaner. What if you lighted up the background/sky/rays coming out of the raven in #4? That would make it more prominent and get more of a cleaner look. #1 devalues the ritual look with a spade and #5 is just too simple.

Thanks for the feedback. I've tweaked the 2 most popular. #1 is a better balance for the back but #2 is cleaner, what do you think?

And #5 on my last post was the inside design, like a box of crows trying to escape ;)

I like the cleaner version of #1 over the white one now. But i also i think that if you could include an intricate pattern like on your 4 corners on the tuck flap it would be better than the ravens, afterall the ravens are already present on the front and back of the tuckbox and doesnt quite fit with the flap.

@sprouts, by the time the deck is printed probably 2015, but really its not necessary, if you are going for a second print run, make changes! Why keep the same design !!
