Fulfillment for "Dia de los Muertos" is set to be completed in a couple of days, so we wanted to throw out a couple of images from our upcoming card project. Everything is pretty preliminary, and we're not officially revealing the project title for another couple of days, but it's a magick-themed pair of decks, and they'll be completely separate designs (no tuck swap.) These two images are the card back and a court card from the same deck. We plan on embossing the tuck cases and using metallic inks from the start - not as stretch goals, so those embellishments will be priced in.
Thanks!

Seems like something is missing from the back, I hate the eye in the middle(really freaks me out), but I do like the theme. Looking forward to seeing more.

Have to agree. He is missing an evil eye in the middle. Circles badges in the corners look good. I think circles are getting popular in the corners. I'm seeing this more and more. His badge is a skull for the fan. Skulls are always good I guess. Looks good so far...
Feel like I'd need to say Klaatu Barada Nikto before picking up the deck. You know, recite the passages... dispel the evil... save my soul... and your own minds!
I like it, and I do believe that Ash would approve as well.
I know your damn words! AllRight! rousselle. This post needs to jump down into the design thread. What do you think? It needs some work. Let's see some face cards.
guys - for those still waiting on their packages, just know that the final shipment group will be going out today, saturday and monday. it's a very large group comprised almost entirely of international packages and is full of complicated orders, so we had to make sure we got them right. we promise we won't be launching anything until all packages have been sent, a promise we made on our campaign page update as well. there are a few stragglers who, for some reason, have refused to give complete address info. but we can't do much about that, except continue to try and contact them. otherwise, shipping will be done by the beginning of next week. and if anyone is in the u.s. and is still waiting on a package, we're very reachable through the campaign page. give us a shout.

Way to go.
Your heart is free. Have the courage to follow her.
and not to worry, we won't be doing 5 colors of the decks. it's going to be two completely different decks and card backs and tuck cases. the plan is to do a six part series over three campaigns (but not necessarily consecutively unless backers clamor for it) based on a magick theme. it's a big undertaking and has required a bit of research, but it harkens back to our days as role playing game fanatics when we were in our teens and we'd love to attract some of the rpg crowd to this campaign. that's going to be, in our minds, the biggest challenge: satisfying collectors and rpg-ers who might want to use the decks as a supplement to one of their adventures.
by the way, we just posted our final campaign update (planned update, at least) for Dia de los Muertos, as we shipped out the last of our packages today. we can now announce the name and launch date for this upcoming campaign: it will be called The Grimoire Series, Pt. 1, coming October 7! more images to come!
This is just a silly suggestion. But I think making it look more like a book would be awesome! Spine and weathered pages, etc.
And perhaps instead of having The USPCC on the entire side where the pages would go, put the "from the makers of Bicycle playing cards" logo on the spine where playing cards is. It already says playing cards on the cover anyhow.

thanks for the suggestion. our intention is to make the decks themselves look like book covers, hence the buckles and metal clasps on the corners of the card backs. we might think of tweaking things during the campaign if enough people make the same suggestions. it is a kickstarter campaign, after all, and we don't want the deck to be too finished. we're not launching with too many completed cards; we want the deck to unfold with the backers' input, especially since we're hoping to attract some rpg-ers, who have plenty of ideas themselves.
