Yeah, I saw that. It's pretty screwed up because they said they would be selling singles after 24 hours. Poor marketing but great accounting...

True, but after all, it's David Baline- a household name. He could take a crap, wrap it in tinfoil, put a couple fish hooks on it and sell it to Queen Elizabeth as earrings.

Well if these weren't sold out before the 24 hr mark I'm sure singles would be sold, not quite screwed up in my books

Well, I agree that db can basically do no wrong, pretty much, but all he had to do here was take 20 bricks out of his 5000 deck print run and not sell them and after 24 hours take those 240 decks and sell them - like he said he would - to 100 to 150 people that wanted 1 or 2 decks and there wouldn't be anybody complaining. So easy to avoid the problem, I don't understand why his marketing people ain't get the sense to do so.

It's not easy to anticipate demand for a product. I can't fault his marketing people for not pulling 20 bricks. He said he would sell them for 24 hours, they sold out. Demand for them was high enough to enable that. It likely just exceeded the forecast demand for the product. In my opinion it's far better to have people complain because they chose not to pick up a brick when it was offered, than to have people complain because they wanted a brick in the first 24 hours and were unable to purchase due to holding decks back for sale at a higher single deck price later. I think it was a universal success. There's no higher compliment than Selling out.

It will be interesting to see what singles go for on eBay. I didn't go for the brick, have way too many and others I cherish, like the Mana Tri-brick and Heretic XI, on the way, but I will pick up a few of these once they hit.

Those are knocked out. They should hit eBay soon, probably need to wait a couple of weeks to let the prices settle down a bit.

I would imagine that the prices will eventually settle at a reasonable price on ebay. Maybe $10 a deck. It will take a few months, but I think it will get there. It wasn't a super limited print run, it is just a matter of time before the people that normally only buy 3-4 decks start listing their remaining 8 on ebay or the forums. I am out of the US at the moment, but had them shipped to my US residence, when I next go back I will probably end up selling half of my brick either in the US or Europe. I will gauge interest when I get closer to that date.

However, this was the first time I bought a brick of a single deck, I have gotten bricks of Ornates, Civil War, Fed 52, NOC V3 (for the Zen deck), but those all have color variations. I am looking forward to the Gatorback Black release.

I think that most people will start selling them at $9.95.
Sadly i had to pass on the deal because of the crazy shipping prices to Europe.
So just wait till the black gator backs are released to get those at a reasonable after market price. :)

How can you say $17.50 for one deck is cheap in your book? They sold $60 a brick plus shipping. I really hope it's supposed to have been $7.50 someone made a mistake.

Well, why leave money on the table? No sense in offering it for a lower price than what they're going for on eBay. But $17 / deck does seem kinda high.

GW sells their decks at good prices (which prevents others from selling high decks) but if it's $17 plus shipping then yeah a little high. I'm getting the deck regardless somehow.

$16 and $17.50? I really don't think this deck will maintain that kind of price. It will cool off and be much more realistic soon. :)

I agree, once everyone starts receiving their orders I think prices will go down. Mine should be here Monday, and I plan on offering some up. DK when or how yet.

IMO, for GW to sell them at that price is just greed. Of course individuals are going to be greedy but GW, CPC, JP, etc are supposed to be reasonable.

Actually I think they are supposed to be a business and get what the market will bear. However it was idiocy of them to call that price "cheap" when they have clearly kept raising it.

What I expect all those companies to do is price decks at market price with good service and fair shipping. GWs shipping for International is definitely too high, otherwise I would have bought 20-30 decks from them by now.
