@Jack$son - Actually, your new name is that. I say embrace it. With the introduction of MPC and EPCC into the mix with USPCC. I see Limited Edition decks dropping from 2,500 to 1,000. I would advise you to put on your tuck and AoS 3 key pieces of information ppl are going to ask about 100 years from now. What was the Manufacture, year, and stock and finish. Card collectors are not going to open their decks to see the AoS, but that information could be on the box. It can't be a sticker like the tax stamp. It has to be on the box. The USPCC system of putting a code on the AoS is obsolete. I feel you can set that standard. Besides, I think a hundred years from now ppl are going to be looking at your early cards and be thinking. Who would have thought to make cards look like money.

Hi, guys and gals.

I meant to say something earlier about this, but I thought the trend had died down, so I let it ride. I see it's back.

Could we please stop with the schoolyard name calling? When you deliberately misspell someone's name in order to show your disapproval, that's really all you're doing: name calling. Maybe doing it once can be mildly clever. But to insist on continuing to do it? It comes off as petty and childish.

Sinjin, Sprouts, and everyone else here: I completely respect your opinions, and I truly enjoy reading your posts (even if, let's be honest, Sprouts sometimes leaves me scratching my head a little). It's particularly refreshing to see intellectual honesty being so aggressively highlighted here.

Yes, Jackson on a couple of occasions said one thing here and then later backtracked. We noticed. Good on us. Go team. How he reacts to that is up to him. But, then, to continue harping on him by insisting on misspelling his name is just... petty.

Sprouts, you make a very thoughtful suggestion about changing how AoS and tuck boxes are marked. I think that's *fantastic*. Let your ideas be the star of your post, my friend. Insisting that someone wear a scar on their name doesn't draw attention to your ideas, however; it draws attention to how you deliberately mock that person by mocking their name. How is that going to work? How is anybody suppose to listen to the rest of what you say when you start off by mocking them? "Hey, jerkface! Here's an idea you should consider for your branding!" C'mon.

The group here can be brutally honest when it comes to critiquing deck design and business practices. That's one of the things I come here for. I find the honesty here truly rewarding and thought-provoking. But, please, enough with the name calling. Just cut it out. You're better than that. We are all better than that.

Or maybe go the other way - ever name with an "S" gets a dollar sign - to be interpreted as "I make money selling playing cards" or "I spend money on playing cards".

I'll start - folks can now refer to me here as $tanKindLee because I did make a 45% (after expenses & fees but not taxes) profit on my last KS card campaign... and that doesn't include the 20% of the run of 500 that I was able to sell at prices greater than my KS project.

Okay, someone can put this thread back on topic now.

Completely agree. it's just gotten a point where I just ignore posts by certain people because they just say the same thing over and over and over. You've made your point, everyone knows where you stand, now move along. Also, I can't hate on anyone who is able to make a decent living doing what they love. As I've said many times, no one if forcing anyone to pull out their wallet and buy this stuff and saying other people who do chumps, clueless and how you feel sorry for them is getting really old.

I swear, this is getting old. This is a public forum, people should be allowed to speak their minds. We shouldn't be censoring anything unless it crosses the line of being offensive and profane. There are a lot of people here who make posts that I don't agree with, but you will never hear me suggest anything should be censored or restricted. We put a "$" in place of an "s", and you consider that name calling?!? Are you actually serious? Trust me, there are a lot more harsher things being said on the internet. And we've been doing this for D&D for over a year, where has the protest for that have been? You like Jackson more than the twins, so you're quicker to be up at arms about any perceived slight against your golden boy? And I'm not directing this just at rouselle, but to all the others who agree with him as well.

After being AWOL all this time (by design), Jackson finally peeks back in here at UC, and now you're worried about hurting his feelings? If anything, it seemed even Jackson found the "$" amusing. He's a big enough boy and secure enough with his success that I seriously doubt he's taken even the slightest bit of offense to the "$". I was actually surprised to see Jackson post again after his and Brendan's extended and obvious absence here (although they had plenty of time to post regularly at PlayingCardForum). The cynical part of me tells me he's just gearing up to sell his next release of the military decks and he's only here again to hawk his goods here because he discovered he needs the 10% after all. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he's wanting to be a part of the community here again and make up for his poor treatment of us in the past. I guess only time, and Jackson's conduct, will tell which is true.

By me calling him Jackson, or Jack$on, shouldn't and doesn't change the points made about him and his practices in my posts. I have never made a personal attack on him or used profanity towards him, or called him any actual names. I try to be professional and use reason in my discussions about him. And I feel others have been fair about their criticisms of Jackson and D&D as well. But you think just because I and others use a "$" in Jackson's or D&D's name that this rises to a censorable offense or a justified suppression of opinion?!? The sentiment that that represents is more offensive and dangerous than any minimal modification of one's name can ever be.

For me, the micro-management and censorship of posts is what is petty. If we were being crude and offensive, I feel its absolutely appropriate to suggest a higher degree of civility. But the addition of a "$" to ones name to protest certain conduct surely doesn't merit the high-horsed scolding you just posted. And for people like badpete and decibelhz who ignore my posts, what skin is it off your noses what I say anyways?

For the sake of forum peace and out of respect for the hard work most of the mods do to keep things civil, I'll stop with the "$", as ridiculous and censorious as I feel that may be. If UC is going to deteriorate into just a brown-nosing crowd of "yes" men just wanting to hold hands and sign Kum Ba Ya while ignoring the troubling trends that present themselves in the playing card industry, then I have better places to be.

@sinjin: Goodness. What have I said? Do you mean rousselle?

When have I stepped in to defend Jackson? I think all I wanted to say before was that I purchased the hive because I genuinely liked that deck and I would have preferred to buy it at that price now than pay up the wazoo later on. At no point had I said that I was perfectly ok with it. I just went with the lesser of the two evils. :) Unless you're referencing any other thing in specific.

I honestly don't care if you guys put all kinds of symbols in between anyone's names. While I do think it's rather silly and childish, it's not up to me to defend Jackson's or Dan and Dave's "honor". If they're not comfortable with it, they're big boys and can deal with it themselves. Where I would most likely step in and moderate are direct insults like the stuff the word censor bleeps out.

What'd I miss? Jack$on is better than many I've seen, I certainly don't feel any need to defend him any more than he does himself, as you noted, Sinjin '"he's a big boy" and he certainly can take it as well as we can dish it, I feel certain. D$D is almost as natural as typing my own name, more-or-less. It would look with without it, frankly.

First off as the Jack$on name goes I could really care less how you spell it. The way I see for everyone that thinks I'm some eviiiil doer and want to spell my name different that's ok with me it will be more work on their part any way.

I'm not here to promote anything, and am sincerely here to try to make sense of the murderous offenses I have seem to have committed in the past and rebuild the bridge that I have with this community. For Brendan's sake I would rather not do it here on his thread.

I'm even ok with creating a "Lets burn Jack$on and the stake thread" and then we can have tons of fun, I'm sure Mike would be happy to start that thread. It will be interesting now that Mike is off the stands now and on the playing field of death with the rest of us. I'm here, and I'm a big boy, every body else has to be a big boy as well. When it comes down to it I create and sell products that you either buy or you don't, weather you are in the 10% or not you have just as much power with you wallet as the rest of us.

The only thing that I take offense at around here is Slander, which is a real and palpable offense that occurs here in regards to me. As for my name call me what ever you want. I wish everyone used their real names as usernames it would make spelling names different alot easier.

I'll take you at your word, then, and encourage you to make amends. I agree, we should stop derailing Brendan's thread. I'm all for a "Let's bash Jackson thread" and give you an opportunity to engage us directly and defend yourself.

The legal term you want to use is Libel. Slander would not be the form of defamation you'd see on a forum where every post is written. But you're not an attorney so the confusion is understandable, so there's a free bit of legal advice for you should you decide to sue any of us here. ;) By the way, my real name is John.

Huh? I been sick, whatzzup? Oh, yeah - that one. Seems to work OK, we'll see. Since we're just getting started, let's keep it over in "SWTWC 3" thread of Venexiana Dark or Good & Evil or whatever.

Not that I haven't done my own share of hijacks lately, but this is supposed to be about The Hive deck by Brenden. I've got mine, nice set. Now I"m waiting on my CW LE tuck set and all that, and my bank notes. I've got to assume I have Independence coming three or four different ways from the e-mails I've gotten - actually, as I recall one of those is actually Sher's under the UC account. Different thread - oh yeah...

His last name has a "s" too, Mr. Robin$on looks more flashy. For this deck I don't see any number located on it unless you had to order a set of decks.

Censorship! Censorship! Who deleted my inane comment last night? LOL - it's OK, I can assure you that we're not. In fact Russell live in Texas, we're all fairly certain about that part. I live in coastal South Carolina, not far from Charleston - well, 30 miles northeast but still in Charleston county.

Re: The Hive Deck - New King's Wild Deck Now Available

I'm bummed, because there is no "S" in either Paul Carpenter or Encarded, so I'm totally going to be left in the dust when it comes to making my name all about the benjamins.

NOW, about the Hive...

I ordered 3 pair of each. It's killing me that I have so many decks waiting for me and so many more en route, but I won't be home till mid October.

Black edition Reserve Note uncut sheets are $20.00 as well.

So allegedly only 1000 Hives in each color were ever printed and only 800 of each color sold. Now we're seeing uncut sheets available (without any mention of quantity, of course). I wonder how this figures in the "limited" print run? If people would only learn that full transparency is always the best policy. At least the pricing for these uncuts aren't ridiculous, so kudos for that.

What more transparency are you looking for? I reserved 200 sets for a few of my historically solid wholesalers and I sold the rest on my site. Do I need to supply you with my POs and tell you everything about my business dealings so that you don't gripe.

I just checked the site and everything seems to be working properly, let me know if you still have issues.

With Safari 7.0.6, I login, go to the page for the Hive Blue Uncut hit add to cart and see:
Home / Cart
Cart
You don't have any items in your cart yet. Continue shopping.
...and I'm not logged-in anymore.

But I got it to work with Chrome. Both uncuts and a black edition reserve note (my all-time favorite deck).

With this bunch Jackson, I think you could do all of that and the griping would continue.

To <sinjin7>'s point - could be referring to the unknown number of uncuts as polluting the actual print run numbers of the decks. I always assumed the uncuts came from the print overage of the run (which always happens)... I never hear any complaints about the extra 10% of decks USPC always delivers to customers over what was specified - do folks really think those extra 250 decks are just chucked in the trash?

I See, but also to Sinjin7's point how do print runs of uncuts pollute the number of decks unless you have an army of workers with paper cutters and somehow you magically found a ton of empty tucks to make new decks out of them.

Does that mean you don't want to tell us how many uncuts there are?
